I am no expert but I do know that wgen you turn on the appliance the water level (blue) must be set on low and when the gas ignites you can adjust heat andnwater until suitable temp. Minesrays on the low water settibg and my water is very hot. Contact Joolca as they are vety helpful with setup queries.
yes, the official advice is that you turn gas up to full and water throughput down. you'll find the temp of water will increase dramatically

Hi Chris,
As Pam and John have said above, try putting the water flow down to lowest setting and the gas up to the highest setting. This should get you +30C on top of the input water temperature. So if your incoming is 10C, then it would come out as 40C.
If you need any more help, could you email us on [email protected] or call us on 1300 669 500 as this is not a support channel so we don't check it as often :)
Thanks,
Chris

Hi, my hot tap won't ignite, the blue flame appears for about half a second, then goes out. It is a new unit, purchased early this month. I have gone through all of the trouble shooting guides, changed gas bottles, used town water, as well as camper trailer pump, purchased a new regulator, tried different shower heads, all to no avail. I am in Broome, and am having trouble with the phone support as I work from 7am til 3;30pm,and we are two hours behind. PS the unit did work at home, took it camping, worked for a few minutes, then stopped working. Any ideas?

Hi Terry,
I'm part of the marketing team over here at Joolca. The support team doesn't check up on ieatwords for support related enquiries. Given you can't call us during our normal hours, let's try for email support first. I think we can help you resolve this quickly via email. And if not, I am sure someone will be happy to give you a call after hours if we can't get it sorted via email.
Please email us at [email protected], I'd open a ticket for you myself but I can't see any of your contract details through this website.
Thank you and please write in to us so we can help you with this!
Chris
Check that the blue dial for water is as low as possible . I had an issue with this at first until i re read instructions. It must be on low setting to ignite and then you can adjust your heat setting.
Hope this is helpfull.
Pam
Thanks Pam,
Tried that, unfortunately no joy.. but thank you for your reply..

KEN CONNOLLYasked
I live in QLD and would like to know if it is legal to mount it on the front of my caravan. It would be very well ventalated. Regards KEN

JoolcaJoolca
Hi Ken,
You are not legally allowed to permanently mount any type of portable gas water heater (whether it's to your caravan or a home, etc). If you set up some brackets etc so that you could easily put it up and then take it down, then that won't be a problem. But leaving it attached permanently is not allowed.
Hope this helps!

Why is it that i turn on the water and it ignites the temperature rises but then drops back to ambient temp i have checked gas, tried readjusting the dials with no effect ?

Is the gas staying lit? I found that if you turn the water on at the shower head first before the gas. The gas will not stay lit. If you then turn the water off at the shower head and then turn it back on, it will ignite. I don't know if this will fix your issue.
The system is being switched on as per normal

Hi, is the unit ok to install permanently outside? I want to install on the front of my camper where the jerry can holder is.
Any issue with rain or rust
Thanks

Hi Rhys
The HOTTAP isn't weatherproof, however, we do sell a 'jacket' that you can use to protect it when mounted outside. If using in this way then things should be fine.
Cheers, Mac.
Hi Rhys. Our HOTTAP isn't permanently mounted on our caravan. When we purchased ours we also bought the drawbar mount which we installed permanently on the back bumper of our caravan. We carry the HOTTAP in the boot of the caravan and set it up at our camp site near our ensuite tent. We have a cover which we throw over the unit when it looks like rain. As Mac has said they aren't waterproof and the jacket would be a good idea.
