Exceptionally good service

Really poor communication, lots of lies, poor service
I accepted a 7:30 to 9:30 time slot, the guys turned up at 13:14. Staff lied to me, the boss was very aggressive and basically said tough luck my agreed timeslot was not agreed it was only a request. I'd rather carry my own furniture than deal with Kent again and really recommend anyone booking them to be very specific about your needs and don't pay a deposit until you have seen the contract. Other rather use a more ethical company.

Outstanding from start to finish!!
Our move was a 3 bedroom unit from Brisbane to Adelaide. Everything went smoothly. Absolutely no damage to anything and the guys at both ends were professional and friendly. They arrived when they said they would and nothing was too much trouble. Neither of us had done a big move like this before, and we were quite nervous about our OLED TV, but we didn't need to be. We have no hesitation in recommending Kent to anyone who is doing a big move. Tip: get them to do the packing, they certainly know what they are doing!!

Wonderful Service Every Time
I have used these guys for both an interstate and local move and they are just fantastic. Nothing is too much trouble and they take so much care with your items. They even took a gate off the hinges so I could get a large fridge through a tight spot. The old saying of what you get what you pay for definitely applies to removalists and this is the case with Kent!

Never use Kent
I used caloundra removals 3 months prior with less gear and they took 5 hrs and charged $800. Kent rocked up 5 hours late even though they knew the day before but didnt give warning. When they arrived two small blokes and the smallest truck I have ever seen. They said they had just been palmed the job. They called their manager and agreed to 5 hrs total. Completely lies and the move took 11 hrs total of 16 for me. To top it offer they have destroyed my $3000 leather brand new couch, worthless now. Oh and then they call and have a go at me cause I didnt want to pay the 11 hours. They still charged me $1350. I will be sure to continue to share my experience with as many people as possible. You are a disgrace.

Poor communication, broken promises
Kent's Inventory isn't actually an Inventory but a list to determine costs, which caused considerable confusion. Small items were listed, but many larger items weren't. Recommend choosing a Removalist where you deal with only one person. Our shipments were not prioritised as mutually agreed and promised, nor did the second shipment arrive a few days after the first. Our first shipment contained winter clothes for use in 40 degree heat. Also gardening tools, including our wheelbarrow, but no computer, TV, etc. Our calls remained unanswered by Victoria when we endeavoured to determine when our 2nd shipment would arrive. The good news - nothing was broken! The packer was great!

In 2008 we sold our family home and placed the contents into Kent storage. In 2009 we arrived home, purchased a much smaller home and reclaimed our goods from storage. A number of cartons were cursorily inspected but because of lack of space they remained unpacked in the garage. In 2022 we purchased a much larger home, again using Kent Removals, and finally unpacked the entire complement of cartons. The only conclusion we can come to is that they were either stolen from our storage container whilst in the care of Kents, or they are still in storage somewhere in Kent's warehouse. However we will never know as all emails to Kent Removals requesting an explanation as to the fate of our missing paintings have been ignored. I recognise the difficulty with regard to the fact that it was ten years ago, however all relevant details pertaining to the 2008 storage were supplied, job number etc., even including the names of the men involved on the day. Despite this. this company apparently doesn’t have either the good manners or professionalism to respond to clients, and repeat clients at that.1 comment

Unprofessional - unreliable and dodgy - do not use
I used Kent for a local move and to place some of my valuables into storage. I had previously used Kent for over 20 years.
The service itself was terrible - amateur crew who took over 9 hours to move a 2 bedroom apartment. Unprofessional- at times rude and the whole experience was a nightmare. They have since not been able to locate my items that were to go to store. This is stressful and unbelievable
They promise professional service but could not be more unprofessional

Ruined my possession. Ruined my move. Accepted fault as it was blatant. Then they offered a $100 when I had paid for $15,000 worth of insurance. Disgusting.

Poor communication, expensive and dodgy movers
Was originally given a quote and told that this was for both removal, storage and returning to a destination and insurance. Found out later that the returning destination was not included on quote. Asked specifically from the salesperson and told a definite yes! Ended up costing $650 for a 2 bedroom move with few most boxes coming with me and their storage location 15 mins away. The return to a new house was $750 15 min away from their location and taking an hour to complete.... talk about one hell of a rip off!

ike a hawk and insist they slow everything down. If the item is not on their sheet it will not be covered by insurance. They sent 4 people (not 2 as agreed) who were not stopping to check items off & none of their staff were taking responsibility for this. The container was not sealed either. On the drop off, they arrived 20 minutes early with most of my items already at the garage and had 2 trucks with 5 people (not 2) and around 70 boxes/items. No one seemed to be in charge or accountable for the operation and there was alot of pressure to go at a hurried pace and for me to sign the document to say it was all there. In the end I found out that an expensive robot vacuum cleaner was missing that I believe was stolen from the initial move. Very easy to take the box and not mark it off and put it in the truck cabin when you send so many movers when it is only myself there to keep an eye on things. As the move is already paid for at a fixed price, it does not matter how long it takes and Kent is complicit sending so many movers to confuse things and create an environment where someone can be dodgy. If it is not on their insurance lists, who are they to care? They have nothing to lose. All in all, it was expensive and I do not recommend Kent. I would have saved money organising a Storage shed and movers on my own and keeping the workforce lower to minimise any potential theft.1 comment

Bad move...
We went with Kent due to their reputation. They were fine when booking, but on the day ended up being almost 4 hours late. We were notified of this only but the drivers, who called 45mins outside the window and said they were still no hours away. No after hours number to call and no help. Then the fun started. Staff and 3rd party contracts were unhelpful and aggressive. I refused to pay until the issue could be discussed, but my credit card way charged anyway and my attempts for help ignored.

OK, however forgot to bring packing materials for Kitchen as stated in agreement, and move ran a little over time
3 bedroom apartment with single garage moving to same suburb.
Crew arrived on time as agreed, however did not have any boxes or protective wrap suitable to pack kitchen (which was requested in my order). I then had to go and buy more boxes and bubble wrap and pack the kitchen myself.
KENT have since offered to reimburse me for the cost of additional boxes and bubble wrap. As the time blew out a little from quoted Kent have reimbursed for some of that time as well.

Perfect in every way.
We had a reasonable size move in the North Shore of Sydney to further up North. The service Mark and his work colleague gave us was second to none. They did not touch a wall anywhere, when they packed up our queen mattress they first washed their hands before touching it, and then wrapped it in plastic so it didn't get dirty. We had a large wardrobe that needed disassembling and they did it with care. Nothing was too hard for them, and they came with a smile. Will most certainly be recommending Kent again, and using them in the future. Well done Kent, and particularly our removalists...10/10

Do not use... Ever
We've used Kent twice now in the past year. The first time was great everything went without a problem (WA - QLD). This last time (QLD - WA) however we incurred damaged to our adjustable bed base, a broken guitar and lost items (which we are unable to claim for as we didn't find out they were missing until after their 2 week time frame). Dealing with Kent regarding the insurance process which is still unresolved and ongoing almost 3-4 month since our move has been an absolute nightmare. Moving Sydney to Brisbane
Moved from an 3 Bed Apartment in Newington to a 4 Bed House in Logan (Brisbane).
The only damage was an item we packed incorrectly. (Forgot to give my wife a copy of the very well present how to pack flyer provided by Kent)
Sales Lady seemed very professional and was one of the quickest to arrange an on site visit and provided some excellent advise on what not to send with them
Price was competitive. The Office Support staff were responsive when required

Good to work with
We had a big move from Melbourne to Perth. 2 large containers. The packing was good and amazing how they pack. The guys that packed and unpacked were great and good to work with. We only had a few issues. On the large two door fridge one of the doors is slightly out of alignment on arrival and when you pack so much furniture and items it would be hard not to get some issues. On unpacking we had some marks and scratches on some items but nothing too serious. There were a few marks/scratches on our large leather lounge suite. We had two glass top tables and arrived in perfect condition. I would certainly recommend Kent Removals.
