Sportage Platinum - Excellent
I traded my wonderful Captiva 5 in for the Kia Sportage Platinum last November. To date it has performed brilliantly. Great fuel economy, smooth, quite ride, responsive when need be, generous boot, comfortable for passengers - particularly the dogs!
Splashed out and bought top of the range - love leather seats, hot and cold seating for front driver and passenger. Still trying to work out all the extras that come with this vehicle. The side traffic alerts are fantastic. I haven't used the auto parking as yet - but will get around too it so...Read more

The Best Car I Have Owned!!
I have had this car for 4 months. So far it has been fantastic and economical, and the Turbo Diesel also goes like a rocket. The car is comfortable and is fantastic to drive. I have owned many cars over the years including Toyota's and Holdens and the Sportage is the best car i have owned by a long shot. The only thing i have found is that the wireless phone charger seems to have caused an issue with my phone where its battery power is drained very quickly after being charged using the wireless charger, so i no longer use it. However, if everything else continues to go well, i will be buying another one in a few years when i am ready to update.

Got sucked in by another Korean manufacturer
These cars are cheap because they are crap, Don't be fooled by the 7 year warranty. There are so many cheeky little catches in that contract. You will rue the day you signed. I have read many other reviews on this site. I assume that the ones praising Kia are employees or they really have no motoring experience whatsoever.
Poor handling. When you hit a bump you will actually bump across the road. Brakes are downright dangerous & not covered by warranty. The list goes on. You will see (literally) heaps of these cars in wrecking yards in the next few years.

ACC is not available
Why the KIA Sportage does not have the life saving ACC feature is an utter mystery to me.
But what is worse, is that a KIA dealership manager told me that the Sportage I was sitting in, inside his showroom, next to his desk, had Adaptive Cruise Control. I asked him specifically if the Sportage did have ACC.
He said it did. He was lying.
In fact, KIA Australia emailed me and were quite complexed about this.
They informed me that ACC was not in any Sportage and was not even an option.

th Park Assist, so I reckon most people might simply assume it would also have ACC. But it only has Cruise Control with speed limiter. Any one who has ever driven both ACC or CC would never opt for the old style CC. I found CC bloody dangerous. Sometimes my 2013 Hyundai i30 it would surge from 100 up to 110 after cresting a hill.

delar blacktown
Iam very disappointed, upset and so annoyed with Kia dealers in Blacktown specially the manager they have played, laired and cheated on us on top of the above they have bad customer service. they have all the idiot attitude to deal with us. i have purchesed sportage 2017 but they have gave us a contract with vehcile 2016 and the dealer main thing was not talking to us properly til we pay $3000 so they can deal with us. So now we are waiting on the court date as they wouldn't like to deal with our solicitor even.

Beautiful car to drive - cannot fault it!
Brilliant car to drive. We test-drove 4 SUVs and found the Kia to be the quietest, smoothest and most comfortable drive. The car is responsive and handles well. The leather interior is nice and adds that extra layer of 'quality'. In city driving, the car averages ~10.8 litres which is less than our previous impreza. The 7 years unlimited km warranty is also a huge bonus which only adds to resell. Another thing to factor in is that in contrast to the CX-5 for example, the Kia comes with a full-size spare tyre/rim!
I could not fault the car even if I tried.

Everything I wanted it to be. Still a Great car.
Update on my experience with my KIA Sportage - It's almost 3 years since I bought this car and it has been 3 years of driving pleasure. The car has performed faultlessly and still feels solid and new.
The only thing I could ask for is a little more power from the 2-litre motor which works well with the 6-speed Auto. Optioning up to get a better motor costs many thousands of dollars, which I couldn't justify at the time of buying the car.
The big ticks for this car are the build quality, economy and passenger comfort. There is peace of mi...Read more
nd knowing you have a 7-year factory warranty too. There are some irritating minor things I still haven't gotten used to: - The audio system has a touch screen that is very unresponsive - you have to continually stab at the screen and hope to get a response. It really let's the whole car down. - No 12V plug in the luggage area is a big minus.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Best value luxury SUV with 7yr warranty, European class without the high price
Styling like the Germans, but at a fraction of the cost. Has all "options" as standard, unlike the competition. Love the self parking, reversing camera and wireless phone charging. Android Auto and iOS CarPlay are both supported as well as USB charging ports front and back. I can play music off my phone or USB, with control via the 7" central LCD.
Ultra bright Bi-Xenon head lights and LED rear & driving/fog lights. Diesel economy provides up to 800km per tank and 400Nm torque means effortless pulling. I found the auto very smooth, having dri...Read more
ven now 3,000km from new. Inside the electrically adjustable seats are leather covered and have heating and forced ventilation - most welcome in Sydney's hot and humid climate, or going to the Snowy's ski-ing. Rear seats have individually rake adjustable backrests and plenty of leg room (I am over 6' and even with the front seat set for me, I can easily fit in the back too). LED interior lighting is plentiful and comes on automatically when switching off the engine or opening the doors. The roof is made of carbon fibre and has a huge opening sun roof as standard. In fact everything is "standard" on the GT-Line. The only extra that I specified was a tow bar to carry my bicycles. Lockable, on-demand AWD provides grip in slippery condition, but this is not an off-roader, rather a "soft roader". Automatic Hill-hold is a welcome option, even in city driving when stopping at lights on an incline. Instrumentation is clear and a digital speedo option can help keeping one's license.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

it was great, but no car is perfect
This car was a rental, it had 29,000kms... I was so happy when i saw this car driving to me for collection as i always wanted to test drive it. Coming from a BMW series 1, I was instantly liking the standard features.
BUT remember, no car is perfect and sometimes you do get a lemon from all the oranges. 2nd week in and a few gremlins popped up.
Every time you turn the car on you have to "agree" to access the infotainment.... WHY???? i got so sick it
The aircond is flaky, all settings max cold but was blowing outside air it eventually wen...Read more

Love this car!
This car meets and exceeds all my needs.
Great extras like phone connectivity, android auto, auto headlights.
Very quiet, smooth running and good on petrol.
The seats are very comfortable which is great for my long work drives. The back seats have different reclining positions for comfort.
Boot has heaps of space and good sized window which is perfect for my dog.
Heaps of different charging stations in the front and for passengers.
Very happy with my new car.

Great Family Car
I love my 2015 Kia Sportage . It's a great car to drive, handles really well around corners, no noise at all, smooth .
I really like the reverse camera, the display when reversing is in the rear vision mirror, so when reversing its easy to see what behind you, it also beeps if something is behind the vehicle which makes it really easy to stop.
I am 6'1 so the legroom was something we looked at, no issue in the Kia at all, plenty of room in the back for the 2 kids and heaps of boot room, backseats even fold down to get large items ...Read more

Best car I have owned
I have owned a Sportage GT Line Platinum turbo diesel for 12 months and over 20,000km. The car has been absolutely faultless. It is economical - 6.2l per 100km on long highway trips, and sub 8l in stop start traffic on the kids school run.
The wife didn't want a Sorrento/Pajero as they were too big for our small garage - we've found the Sportage to be spacious without being enormous.
The car isn't a race car, it isn't a sports sedan. But for a family vehicle, its comfortable, relaxing, safe and has enough toys (sunroof, moonroof, multip...Read more

Dashboard display is good as well, well lit and all buttons easy to use .
On petrol it does use a bit that's the only downer on the car, but the rest of the car makes up for that.

From Hertz to Garage.
I had a project in Bourke last year, Bourke is 950km from Sydney. There is no quick way to get to Bourke even if you fly. The flight is to Dubbo and you are then left with a 360k drive. The first trip hire car was a Kia Sportage, like all rentals you tend to give the car a workout. Now I have been driving for 50 years and it takes a lot to impress me. The Kia performed remarkably to Bourke and back. It was only the entry level model but was quiet and economical on the trip. By the fourth trip with the Kia Sportage I was sold, in December I orde...Read more

Fault in 2016 Sportage Diesel from new
Such a nice car but from new randomly faults at 1800 RPM. After much grief finally the dealership tells me its a known fault and Kia are still trying to find a fix. Temp fix done by dealer that made no difference.
So if you going buy a Kia diesel beware the engines have a known fault they don't have a fix for. Shame. Used the Web site to complain and no one responds. Really nice car in all respects but pointless if the engine is faulty.

gh's) took the car and gave us a 2016 Sorrento as a loan car (this was Kia owned loaner not John Hugh's). Had it for four weeks. Longer than needed as an employee at John Hugh's that was dealing with it was on holiday so the car just sat there. But all said Kia was very polite. Now it running like a dream. Would now recommend to all to buy this car. Its powerful and the cabin is so quiet. Wont get this level of noise reduction from most of the other similar priced SUVs on the market. Or a 7 year warranty. Probably wouldn't buy through John Hughs again, but that's another story.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Great car, excellent updated model
Just bought this car a month ago, the 2017 MY, Platinum with diesel motor.
Before this I had a MAZDA CX-5.
I will give the pro's and con's pointwise:
Con:
1. The motor is a bit rawer, there is more a diesel sound and -feel to it than in the Mazda. The motor is agile, and what helps is chosing the mode: normal, sport or eco.
2. The electronics are a bit fuzzy, but also the Mazda did not have a great entertainment system/GPS. I have just received a letter where I am asked to have the system updated to include Apple car play, which is a huge bonus.
3. The brand 'Kia', some colleagues mock me for having bought it
4. Diesel consumption: i score around 9 litre/100 km, the Mazda did it with just under 8 litre/100 km....Read more

One of the best purchases I have made in my life!!
It's been 8 months since I got my Kia delivered and I have to say this car is one of the best purchases I have made in my life. I had a tough time deciding which way I would go when our family grew and couldn't fit comfortably in a hatchback anymore and my research paid off pretty well.
My car is a Sportage Platinum Petrol and has recently been upgraded to Apple Car Play which is an added advantage. I was not a big fan of the Kia infotainment system when I started driving the Kia and was counting days to get the CarPlay update but it has pro...Read more
ven to be worth the wait. Ofcourse I would have loved it even more if my iPhone didn't have to be connected via a cable to the system for the CarPlay to work but I really cannot complain. The drive is excellent and I am getting the advised economy for the fuel but all the nice upgrades Kia has made to this car makes you feel really safe while driving on max speeds. The other features I love include stability and traction control, hill descent control, ABS, electronic brake force distribution (EBD) and brake assist. Auto-Park assist works well, I have managed to use it in shopping centres however don't plan to use it if you are in a busy area as the system can take its sweet own time and test the patience of others waiting behind you. The tiger grill in the front and the leather interiors have always gotten me complements from friends and family. I can go on and on...Kia have really outdone themselves with the new Sportage Platinum. I can recommend this car to anyone without hesitation...If you can get a good deal from a dealer on this car you won't regret the money well spent...Similar opinion? Spot on
Over the last 40 years I have purchased ten demo or knew cars around the mid price range, this is the first Kia, main reasons for purchase being very good world wide reviews regarding quality and all round performance, and the 7 year warranty/roadside service and fixed service costs, this is the GT Kia it has got the lot. I live in regional Victoria and the suspension is tuned to Australian road conditions what a huge difference this makes to the handling such good balance and a confident feel on all surfaces that I travel on, the power is spot...Read more
on you have choices = sport normal and eco, I find the eco is all I need, the comfort is really good, they obviously have excellent quality control checks in place because the fit and finish is up there with the best, I have a blue colour and have given it a couple of coats of wax what a classy finish, I have tricked up the appearance a bit by tinting the front windows as the rest come tinted and I had the tinted weather strips fitted over the windows boy has that given the car a classy look, also the safety inclusions are unbelievable and the technology at your finger tips is awesome, a few car reviews stated that this car has has the inclusions and class of some european cars worth a fair bit more like 20k plus. I can't judge that but for my money its worth every dollar I spent, what a great value excellent product the Kia company have produced.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

After a call to Kia Australia, the provides a courtesy car for a week whilst the issue was identified and rectified. The second was a faulty power window switch which wad repaired/replaced on first visit. Overall the car is still quite tight, with a small rattle in the sunroof. Dash and plastics are all still excellent. Economy is still very good, and 6.0 to 6.4l for long highway runs is the norm. Has the car met expectations? Absolutely. We are considering a Kia to replace the other 10 year old Toyota.
