Great Car, Super Reliable
We got the Kia Sportage SI this year and have been impressed with the range of features and especially with how it drives. We couldn't give it the full 5 stars as we have had intermittent issues with the radio, however the car is ultra reliable, tech inside is good and the fuel consumption is great. The 7 year warranty is a huge bonus.

Great Car but poor audio head unit!
Hey,,, Have had this car for a little over 2 weeks now & love almost everything about it!,, Drives very well, comfortable, love the tiger front grill, big panoramic sunroof, great options....... BUT!!!! my biggest gripe is the the multimedia head unit that is offered, to put simply it is CRAP!! Cheap & Nasty. Not very user friendly, VERY POOR Radio reception & sound?. does not even come with DAB radio? In this day & age it should be standard on all vehicles or at least on this model being the top of the line.. overseas models come with Dab radio so I don't understand why Kia skimped out on us here..

As time moves forward so does our cars!
So I decided to wait a few months before I got on trusty Product Review. I bought my 2016 Kia in August 2017 and so far I'm satisfied. Very satisfied. I cannot believe how long it took me to get to the petrol station considering I was driving daily. The interior is beautiful with no-brainer gadgets to play with. Very roomy at the back with great leg-room. I love the boot. My other car has limited boot space so this was a must for me to pack all sorts and not having to play tetris!
What I was not too sure about is the air-conditioner...Read more
. Maybe i'm comparing to other car models but with our demanding heat I expected a lot more. The car does not take off as powerful as I thought it would but when it drives and accelerates, it's brilliant. The steering makes driving secure and I had no problem parallel parking considering it is a mid-size SUV. I am looking forward to years of driving my Kia. It's stylish, modern, comfortable and ready for long trips. I've heard good things about Kia but now I own one I'm impressed.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Awesome Car
We purchased the 2017 Kia Sportage GT-LINE (diesel) in February 2017.
2.0 Turbo Diesel. 6 speed auto transmission.
The performance and handling of this car is GREAT. The 2.0 turbo diesel makes this car FLY.
Economy is GREAT; on the highway we achieve about 5.9litres/100km and around town about 9litres/100km.
Build quality cannot fault.
Equipment & safety, this car has so many features and safety equipment. While shopping around we found it has more features than most of the European vehicles that cost almost double (and still don't have all the features of this KIA).
You cannot beat the 7 year warranty with roadside assist.
Servicing costs...a little on the expensive side through the dealer.
*** I would recommend this car ***

2017 Sportage ! PERFECT !
Bought the New Kia Sportage 2017 make just 3 months ago. I love driving this car, superb in design and drive both. Good performance so far. It is a good value for money SUV. Spacious inside, interiors are satisfactory. I would recommend to spend a few more dollars and buy Si Premium as it has a better interior upgrade. :)

Good specs in the amount you pay !
I really like the KIA Sportage Si Premium. I bought it recently in red colour which really looks amazing and so does the exterior. More specs available in KIA Si Premium than the base model. Good value for money. I drive it everyday for at least 80 Km. therefore, so far no issues at all. Would recommend if you don't want to spend much on a car but still would love to have above average specs.

Excellent vehicle
I purchased my Sportage in Oct 2016 and have had no issues at all. Everything has been positive. I'm very impressed with the overall finish of paint and panels. Interior is also very well finished. I'm regularly getting good fuel economy. Around 8 litres/100km. My wife loves to drive it

Great car... buy one you won't regret it!
I had planned on buying a Mazda 6 but ended up in the Kia dealership. After a few weeks of research and spec comparisons I purchased a 2017 Kia Sportage in the GT-LINE Spec (Top model in NZ). I opted for the 2.0L Turbo Diesel which is a great engine. It has more than enough power and low end torque for everyday motoring and open road driving. The fuel economy is what I would expect from an engine and car this size at around 7-8L per 100KM. The AWD has proved useful in icy and muddy conditions and tyres provide a smooth quiet ride. e it feels like a more upmarket Audi setup with nice to touch buttons and surfaces. Plenty of storage and cupholders along with 2x charge points and a wireless charge pad for your smartphone. The leather seats are soft while offering good support on long trips. The heating/cooling function has to be one of the best features of the car. One area KIA did cheap out on was fitting LED bulbs to the Vanity Mirror lights. These are the old yellow bulb type and don't fit with the other LED lighting of the interior. Otherwise the interior space is comfortable and enjoyable. The safety features are good in the top spec with the Collision Warning System being the best. This should be standard on all cars I think. Rear seat passengers have plenty of leg room, head space and also reclining seats with middle arm rest and cup holders. The huge panoramic sunroof is my favourite feature with a tilt or open open even rear seat passengers can enjoy some open sunroof space. Some bugs and fixes I have experienced to watch out for: - Headunit freezing or no audio intermittently (Dealer replacing unit, said they are having some failures) - I had engine hesitation and transmissions shudder intermittently (Dealer fixed with a software update, drives better then ever and holds gears better going up hills!) Great car, Highly recommend.
I've had this car for almost 2 years and it still drives as though I picked it up from the dealership yesterday. It is very roomy but doesn't feel large on the road and it's very zippy for a 4cyl, especially compared to some other brands I test drove. Excellent value for price and with 7 year warranty and road side assist! Servicing is also very affordable. When it is time to upgrade I think my only change would be moving up to the new Sportage GT model

LOVE this car
Have had many cars over the years, mostly bought new. This is hands down the best car ever. The list of features is impressive, love the sunroof, keyless ignition, heated/cooled seats. Best of all it is able to seat adults comfortably in the rear seat without moving the front seats forward.

Absolutely love this car
Had this car for over a year now, and due for its second 15K service. It continues to satisfy. The equipment spec is second to none. I love the grunt of a diesel engine. I even like sitting in the back as it has plenty of room. I do hope they will wake up and give up on stopping one from connecting the phone via bluetooth when it is not in Park. it will connect sometimes nevertheless. It is really dumb to think that somehow using the touchscreen to connect the phone is any different from using it to select an FM station.

Excellent
Bought it new two months ago, 4k on the clock already. The engine/transmission felt a bit tight at first but running great now. Power delivery very smooth for a 2.0L non-turbo, not a racing car but more than adequate. The first tank went at 10L/100km now getting between 8 and 9L/100km driving around town. The best on a long trip was 7.5L/100km very impressive. IMO the small displacement turbo engines (like 1.4L in Trax) will never give you real life economy close to the tested number but a good old 2.0L atmo four pot will. Great sounding stock ...Read more
radio, no issues with the instrument panel or electronics. The ride is on a stiff side but handling much better than I expected from a SUV. Really quiet on all but the roughest surfaces. I bought the last brand new car a while ago and it is amazing how they keep getting better. Basic trim has gadgets like parking sensors, reverse view camera, daylight LEDs, dusk sensing headlights etc. Very happy with the purchase.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!
PERFECT :-)
I've done 75,000kms in 2 years, being a country real estate agent I clock up the km's. This baby has taken me across paddocks and tracks that I thought would only be capable with a 4x4, she is front wheel drive and so far we haven't got stuck, and believe me I've tested her. My Kia Sportage has never let me down and has never given me any trouble. It gets very little love, but it has shown me so much love and loyalty. My clients love it, my border collies love it, she looks smart, slick & sexy and when I have to put the boot into it, she will f...Read more

Driving satisfaction
A nice family car with all the accessories of much dearer automobiles without losing any of the driving comfort and benefits these more expensive models can offer.
Have had our present sportage for 15 months now and the driving experiences it has offered us has been faultless.
A very reasonably priced car it comes with a 7 year warranty, and offers a smooth drive and faultless performance
Economical to run, with dual air bags and all the other safety assets that cars come with these days, I feel completely safe on the road in this car
Would thoroughly recommend kia and korean cars in general, after my previous korean car, a 2007 brought new hyundai elantra gave us years of no worry motoring and I expect our kia to do the same

So far excellent
Nearly a year old, 25,000km and the Kia Platinum is doing everything right. Best fuel economy was Adelaide to Ballarat at an average of 6.2 litres per 100. Can rely on 7 litres per hundred generally. Just towed a 1.6 tonne caravan to Alice Springs and back. Cruised 90-100, worst fuel economy was 12.2, best 10.6. Ticks all the boxes for us. Very quiet, spoiled with the heated/cooled seats. GPS before apple/carplay was a bit out of date but workable. Overall very happy.

My 22nd new car...Things have changed
Not a brand snob anymore...Being a formally very biased Holden, Ford, Toyota man all my life (HD Holden ute my first new car in 1965) I was given stick by my old mates 11 years ago (they remember I owned 6 Monaros!!) when I bought a Kia Cerato for the wife as a run about after all the kids had moved out and taken their cars...Then in 2012 one of the daughters bought the Cerato off of us, and to this day it is still going strong..only had a new battery and annual oil/filter changes (on its 4th set of tyres)...never broken down or had a call back...Read more
notice ever.... We replaced that with an SLI Optima and after 130k we have just traded that for a small SUV. We tested many sedans of many brands but finally decided on a small SUV (easier to get in and out of at our age!!) ..after testing nearly all of the available small SUVs (Including Mazda, Hyundai, Mitsubishi, Subaru etc) we kept coming back to a new Kia Sportage GT line (Grey interior), we took delivery of one only 4 weeks ago...It is a great car, they are getting better all the time. (Hyundai Tuscon was runner up, but was noisier on our coarse bitumen roads) This is our 22 new car (a Land cruiser is our main vehicle for towing the caravan) and as I service our own vehicles in our workshop, without a doubt the Kias have been the most reliable cars we have ever owned (Yes even more than our Land cruisers..no crap, as I have had a few dramas with them over time), so don't worry about getting a hard time (What!! a Kia!!!) from your mates, if you want to have reliable, well built well equipped and hassle free motoring, you cannot go wrong with Kia... (Toyota don't give you 7 year warranty!) Obviously some of the 1 star comments on this site are from people who have never owned one (not in the last 15 years anyway) or work for some other brand....I'm a retired farmer and work no more for anyone!! Worst car I've EVER OWNED.
Terribly unreliable. 2016 model. Already had new sun roof, new ECM, among other sensors. Park assist had a glitch and steering wheel went really fast and collided with another vehicle. I've done 1000s of auto park but as they couldn't get it to fault, it doesn't exist. The navigation system at purchase and with updates still doesn't contain streets that are 6 years.

Great value, Champagne Car at Beer Prices
The best car hands down I have owned in 30 years of driving. Comfortable, reliable, modern features and sleek styling has made me a KIA fan overnight. We looked hard at the range of Mazda & Holden comparables but found we could not beat the Sportage for value and style.
