To reduce wear and warranty risks, this unit only drives ONE rear wheel !
Traction was hopeless . The infinity deck can only cope with short grass
since it's actually a mulching design . Kohler SV23hp range engine was a
disaster . Knocked under load . I had unrelated blocked carby problem due
to Dealer not flushing alco-fuel out of system and not using a petrol
additive as expected . The PTO safty switch was faulty and engine cut
out . Dealer didn't fix this either ! I ditched at 22 hours on another
Kubota Dealer, for a BX2360MMM : a real machine ! Was informed by
this Dealer that Kubota wouldn't pay for rectification of what they
considered was T2380 dealer fault . Isn't that wonderful . Lies all around.

Moved to 5 acres and bought my first ride-on, a Kubota T2380, because of reputation and smooth talking salesman at Dural near Sydney. My father-in-law said it sounded wrong from day 1 - should have listened. Threw mower deck belt 3 times in 6 months and drive belt twice. Drive belt damaged after 9 months and replaced by the people that sold it to me - they claimed it wasn't a warranty issue. Still throwing belts and finally chewed 2nd drive belt one month after warranty expired. Dealers said "out of warranty" but only charged parts because serv...
Read moreice in warranty should have picked up problem. They said pulleys needed replacing and said I must have been misusing!! I only have grass, no bush, so can't see how that is possible. Hundreds of dollars later, supposedly repaired, and it chewed another drive belt after only second time out. Service people don't want to know about it now because repair was start of winter and destroyed belt was start of spring so 3 months warranty on repair has expired even though only 5 hours of mowing since repair. So, rubbish machine and rubbish after sales service. I won't touch a Kubota ever again. If Kubota was once a reputable brand, those days are well gone. Comfortable when running Runs roughly, throws belt and destroys them,Just an update on my review - I have since had further contact with the Service people at Hills District Farm Equipment and they have now conceded that the mower had not been repaired properly on prev...
Read moreious occasions and that has caused a number of my problems. They have provided free parts for the latest problem and offered complementary service next time around to make up for the inconvenience. It's good they came to the party and resolved the problems their service caused but that still doesn't explain why the Kubota itself was faulty from day one.Other Ride-On Mowers

Disappointing you didnt receive Dealer support, I guess it must happen. Re your criticism about, warranty, wear, driving on one wheel etc, and a poor cutting deck, you perhaps need to look at whether y...
Read moreou researched your purchase properly. Losing traction suggests you have a few steep pinches on the property, more suited to a tractor, which you have now bought, rather than a rideon mower. You have probably fallen into the same trap that many of us do, by purchasing a machine that is not suitable for your land. Many times that is price driven. Almost all (Hydro Gear & Tuff Torq )Hydrostatic driven mowers run a system that drives both wheels through, for want of another word an automatic diff lock. If one wheel loses traction that wheel stops driving and rotates in reverse. To set the auto lock, to return drive to both wheels, you take off the power, then the drive returns to both wheels again. Your replacement BX 2360 mower is a Compact Utility Tractor a far cry from the T2380, it has a Hydrostatic drive also, but with one important difference, a manualy operated Diff Lock, which you have to kick in and out with your foot. Remember to take it out on corners or you will complain about turf damage, and difficulty in steering around corners. Diff locks only work in a straight line!!. The machines weight and the big lug tyres will probably never let you lose traction again. Most of us would not like the tyre marks left by that type of tyre on our lawns. The mowing deck on that unit will do a far better job for you,it was designed for taller and heavier grass, as obviously the T2080 deck was not meant to cut the height of grass that suits you on your property. Kohler engines are fitted to Husqvarnas, John Deeres, and many other mowers, and to be fair, they must from time to time have problems, and the dealer should be there to action those complaints. The diesel motor in your replacement will go forever, and you no doubt will be able to fit all sorts of Hydraulic driven extras that have been designed for it unlike the T2080 which is a very good basic lawnmower. If there is a lesson to be learnt, it is that you need to carefully research your product, get the dealer on site, and get him to demo the machine, and mow your lawn, as you would like it. !!!
