Misrepresentation of color
The color Dark Rose Gold does not come out anything like the package color. My hair is grey but had been died a med blonde. I used the new color on the roots and then I pulled it thru to the ends. The condition is beautiful. The color is purple. I do like it but it is not what I bought.
Purchased at Chemist Warehouse Physical Store for A$20.00.

Long lasting hair colour
Having Asian dark brown/black hair, most of us prefer to dye our hair bright colours. After years of using Japanese box hair dyes I realised that the bleach in the dyes is doing some real damage to my hair, and especially with my preferred reddish brown colour it fades incredibly fast. The result is that I often would want to re-colour every three months or so because of the faded colour and the black roots. Thus, the more I do that, the more bleach I expose my hair to and the less it would actually hold the colour. It turned into a vicious cyc...Read more
le. After I tried Olia hair dyes a few years back and liking the results, I have been using that until they discontinued my favourite colour. So I when I started shopping around for a new go-to hair dye I came across the L'Oreal Preference Infinia. It claims to be long lasting and stay luminous for up to 8 weeks, and it includes a colour extender. Into the shopping basket it went. The use of the L'Oreal Preference Infinia is the same with most at-home hair dyes, including the strong ammonia smell (Oh Olia, how I miss having you!). The bottles have the condiment bottle type feel to it, and it feel like I am marinating my hair every time I use it. Having thick hair down to the middle of my back I require two boxes to ensure even colour, and since my hair is dark coloured I let the dye sit for extra 10 minutes. The dye has a quite watery consistency, so wrap your hair up well and wear old clothing to be safe from dripping. It is quite easy to wash the dye out, if you have one of those water-saving shower heads that have the massage function, this would be the time to use it. It washes out the dye out under 2 minutes. The conditioner it comes with is the same large tube the same size as Olia and conditions my hair very well. The end result is nearly always very dark on the first week. In fact it gets so dark, the first time I used it I had to look at the box because I thought I have used my partner's dye by accident (he uses the same dye in dark brown), but then it fades down to the darker version of the box colour after that. I like how the colour is subtle and makes my regrowth less noticeable. By using the colour extender included (2 boxes = 2 tubes) I can get away with only dying my hair twice a year. So far I have never noticed the hair dye staining my clothes, so aside from the strong smell, I have no complaints about this hair dye. I will be so sad if Loreal discontinues my colour...
