Excellent Fridge
Bought this model in 2007 and its never required any servicing. I'm about to remodel my kitchen, so time for an upgrade. This model is 383L in the fridge and 176L in the freezer. Its super wide and you can always find things in both fridge and freezer. I bought it because it offered the water dispenser which did not need to be plumbed in and would save opening the fridge door every time I needed a glass of cold water. I also like the fact that it will let me know if I leave the door open, although that can be annoying if I'm just cleaning up any little spills and taking too long in the process! There are so many negative comments on fridges of all brands on this site that its going to be really hard to make a new choice.

Just keeps going and going
I have had this fridge for nearly a decade now. I am looking to replace it because I have moved and the fridge space in my new kitchen isn't quite big enough. But I love it and am having difficulty letting go.
Both the fridge and the freezer age huge, it has worked perfectly without needing any servicing or repairs and it still looks brand new.

Great!
Have had this fridge 8 years now and never missed a beat! Space isn't an issue in both the fridge and freezer sections. No problems in 8 years, very reliable!

Excellent
Couldn't be happier with my fridge, i purchased this fridge without looking at any reviews and only chose it because it was love at first sight. It's huge and can fit alot in it. The only problem is it doesn't fit in conventional fridge spaces but i've learned to work around that. The freezer has a light in it which is handy and drinks are kept super cold all day. There is no need for defrosting and it's easy to move around with wheels on the bottom.
Fantastic fridge, I couldn't be happier. Loads of room for just about anything. Water dispenser is a great extra, we use it all the time.
Water dispenser took a few washes to get the plastic taste out but thats the only hiccup so far

Terrible
I would never buy another LG product after the false claims this company has been making about its products for years. Three time they've been caught lying about their energy ratings. This is the lowest of the low and it makes it hard to trust them about anything. They are conning the consumers. It makes me so angry>

Good
Good value overall. Nice balance between fridge and freezer space.Love the water dispenser but always needs filling as used so much. Has worked well for 3 years so far.
Large and good looking. Water dispenser.
The plastic trays are weak. Closing the door on the veggie tray just once cracked the support tray and the freezer tray is collapsing. The electrics on the top of the fridge make it 3cm too tall for standard installations

I've had this fridge now for a year and have been very happy with it, it's huge and fits everything we need. Love the water dispenser but it would be great if it was able to be locked or closed off.
loads of room, glass shelves, water dispenser doesn't need to be plumbed in, light in freezer, ice cubes tray
water dispenser at child height and no lock available

Terrible
I won't ever buy another LG product again. For the price I paid for the fridge, I would expect something more substantial.
I liked that the water cooler didn't require plumbing.
The plastic around the top door hinge cracked a month inside warranty expiring. The whole door was replaced, and less than a year later the door has cracked again, this time at the bottom, and the whole door fell off. Local repairers have advised me that LG don't care about customers once warranty has expired, even for faulty products. There's clearly a design flaw with this fridge - the door is too wide to be held on with flimsy plastic.

Had this fridge for 4 years now and it hasnt skipped a beat. Love the style of this fridge. The twist tray in the freezer makes it easy to get the ice out. The front water dispenser keeps the water nice and cold im summer its great to have. The cooling function is a great option you can adjust it to what you want. The LCD display is easy to read. We did reviews before buying this fridge and it come up good so thats why decided to go with this one.I recommend this fridge its been great to us.

how many shelves are in the fridge compartment of this machine?

I can't remember. I had to sell mine because it was too big for my new kitchen.
two shelves, plus you can use the top of the vege crisper sections. There are also 2 sections for butter and cheese etc which are quite spacious. The fridge is wide and I've always found it to be very spacious. Sorry for the delayed response
