Love my french door fridge it has so much space!
Keeps fresh fruit and veggies fresher for longer.
Really large keep fresh compartments and also two small ones for herbs. Very quiet can’t even hear it at night.
Really easy it all pulls apart. It is a big job though because the fridge is huge and comes with some hidden compartments.

Vain glamour
Its enormous, functional, gorgeous, handy, fun, glamorous!
Adore this fridge, I have owned it approximately 2 years.
It has so much storage, it keeps food fresh much longer than any other fridge I have used.
It's great to have a mirror to use in the kitchen, so handy when your running out the door.
So fun for my daughter dancing always infont of it.
It's much larger than regular doorways, very heavy, the mirror surface gets smudges with every touch and it can scratch if not careful.

LG Fridge a and warranty sub standard...ie RUBBISH
Purchased this fridge with a 5 year extended warranty. Year 1, 2 and 3 all the plastick shelves broke and not covered by warranty. Then the bottom door fell off the fridge because of poor plastic hinge and door was also made of foam and was designed to fail. LG refused to comment or reply to warranty claim other than we were at fault. NEVER again will my wife or I buy products from LG. They are an inferior manufacturer who design inferior product with no warranty support. Give them a miss...ROSS CLARK

Loads of storage and love the freezer capacity
Wow! After our Fisher and Paykel of 17 years of faithful service decided to give up the ghost we found this beauty in Harvey Norman. So glad we did as they were having a cashback and free LG delivery special and it was already hugely reduced. Only just fit through our standard front door with the fridge doors and the front door taken off at the hinges - only just so please check your measurements twice (the fridge measurements are all on the LG website). Serious! Check your measurements carefully. The salesgirl told me of two other buyers who e...Read more
nded up with the fridge in the garage and the other in the living room respectively because it just would not fit but the lady buyers could not bare to send the fridge back. As to three litre milk fitting in the door yes but probably only one at a time in the door within the door. Two litre bottles fit. We currently have three two litre bottles with plenty of room around them. This fridge is fantastic! Our 216Lt chest freezer that was full transferred into the freezer drawers no problem. So selling the chest freezer now. We have open plan living with the bedroom directly off the kitchen so noise was a consideration. We have slept with no problems and the fridge is quiet. Please take note that this fridge is a bit different in the way it releases heat. It can be put right back but must have size and top ventilation. Most fridges require at least 5cm behind but because this fridge is very deep it was an issue and we asked the salesperson to clarify the air ventilation issue with LG. We have it written on our receipt that this fridge can be placed right up against the wall at the back so long as top and side ventilation is unrestricted. Love the internal depth. Love the light and bright interior. Love the freezer draws with bright light. Love the ice tray filler which has a little bottle you fill and then invert into a cavity which fills the tray without having to remove the tray- fill-spill-refill. Love the door storage. It has only been about a month but so so happy with this purchase.

Surprise gift that I actually liked.
We have had our fridge since June and it has worked faultlessly. I love the space as I no longer have to store extra milk in our down stair bar fridge.
We bought our fridge through Harvey Norman who were terrific.
It is large so make sure that you can fit it through your door before it arrives.

Huge fridge with tons of space!
Great fridge with an amazing amount of storage space - 950L!. Fridge section has a section of shelving which can retract allowing storage of taller items. We can fit large bowls and long platters quite easily, perfect when entertaining. The 5th door (door in door) allows easy access to milk, soft drinks, beer without having to open the entire door. There's no water dispenser but that's not an issue as you can store a lot of drinks in the door and even better - no plumbing is required! Ample freezer space is well organised and space efficient, t...Read more
here are pull out drawers rather than individual compartments which I find eats into the space. And the freezer doors also have storage areas and ice cube maker. If you need storage and can fit this fridge, I think it's the best available option at the moment plus the price is also very affordable. Aesthetically, the black mirror finish is very shiny and not too bad to maintain. The trimming area at the bottom of the fridge doors with "crystals" wasn't initially appealing but is more acceptable now and I hardly notice it. The electronic readout panel on the front is also very helpful and provides a quick snapshot of temperatures. Plenty of storage for large families and flexible interior layout Need to have a big cavity to fit the fridge, make sure you measure properly and note the angle of the doors when fully open (they don't open 180 degrees).Similar opinion? IMPOSING PIECE OF EQUIPMENT
This is one large unit! We needed to replace our old (reliable) pigeon pair with a single unit, but wanted to retain the use of a large freezer. Most french door and 4 door freezers have quite small freezer compartments, and almost all are designed as drawers so they are effectively chest freezers - didn't want that either. This one has a large double door freezer with plenty of pull out compartments for easy storage. The fridge is huge, particularly the fresh food drawers. We decided against a fridge that required plumbing in - most complaints...Read more
about french door fridges seem to concern this feature, and how difficult is it to place a jug of water in the fridge?! So far the fridge is operating well, and is surprisingly quiet. My only criticism? A fridge that is cavernous and clearly designed for families and entertaining - with dark glass, highly mirrored doors that show every mark! As there are no actual door handles, it's almost impossible to avoid smudges. Bling over practicality seems to have governed this design decision. If there had been another fridge of equal size with different doors on the market, it would be sitting in my kitchen now, instead of this one. A useful opinion on the fridge can really only be given after a decent time of use, however the initial verdict is that the storage capability of this 4 door fridge is fabulous, the icemaker is functional and does not require hiring a plumber to initiate (or repair when it malfunctions), the freezer is generous and really well designed. The cons are simply the non-user friendly door materials, and the unnecessary extra door on the fridge - another gimmick in a fridge that would likely be more attractive to families if it were a little 'plainer'. Quiet, lots of space, well designed compartments. Shiny, high maintenance door surface.3 comments
Just an update - LG had a cashback promotion in action when we purchased this fridge. It's now mid-April and still nothing. A complaint to LG prompted an email reply that claimed it had been posted an... Read more
d LG would investigate to see why it hadn't been delivered and get back to us. That was 10th April and we've since heard nothing, and received nothing. I wonder how they would respond to consumers taking possession of their goods with no payment for this amount of time? This was not an inexpensive purchase and we expect better; we certainly will NOT accept this treatment. Will never deal with LG again. They say someone must have stolen our cashcard, that they are supposed to be sent by registered post (but cannot tell us whether ours was), and that as far as they are concerned the matter is closed.

Hi I have a GR-5D951L LG Refrigerator and it is displaying a E FF fault code. I have replaced the freezer fan and levelled the doors but it is not going away. I am sure the freezer fan is not operating as the freezer section is not cold at the top. Is there anything that would prevent it from switching on? I would appreciate any help I can get. Thanks Geoff

I love my LG GR-5D951L fridge too, it doesn't miss a beat, I have had it for almost 3 years, but last night a cup fell out of the cupboard and smashed the glass on the freezer door. I don't know what to do, can anyone tell me if I have to replace the entire door or can a glass panel replacement be purchased.
Thanx

Hi, ring the LG helpline for spare parts information. They will refer you to a number of companies that hold spare parts such as Statewide Appliances. I have done a search for you on the Statewide Appliancesr website I hope it copies ok. I could not locate the glass but you may be able to ; http://www.statewideapp.com.au/lg?utm_source=bing&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=LG%202014&utm_term=lg%20spare&utm_content=Spares
Wow, that was so nice of you, thankyou very much, I will give them a call tomorrow.

Can anyone tell me why this fridge was discontinued?

I can only speculate. The fridge is very deep and does not fit a standard fridge cavity. I bought mine heavily reduced and assume from this they were not selling well. The salesperson told me that many people loved it and wanted it but it did not fit their home.

onally I wouldn't have gone with the 'black' look either but there was no other option in this size. We currently use 2 fridges and a chest freezer and are basically wanting to combine all into one unit. I cant wait to see what it looks like in our kitchen, especially at night with the blue LED light and Swarovski crystal feature :) Stay tuned for my review .......
