Hi, Is this suitable for smooth raw cakes, made with nuts and such? I am looking to replace my food processor and high speed blender with the cook expert.

Hi There, yes you can make raw cakes with nuts and other ingredients. The Cook Expert is a variable speed appliance so you can adjust depending on the recipe.
Thanks

I have a small kitchen and will need to keep it on a shelf and move it to a bench to use. How easy (or not) is it to move the unit around? I see it weighs 11kg and I'm not worried about the weight but is it easy to get your hands underneath the unit and lift it?
1 answer
Magimix A.Magimix
Hi Squid!
Yes it is quiet easy to move it around. The Cook Expert has four rubber feet which allows the base of the machine to sit slightly higher off the bench. You can then get your fingers under the base and lift as necessary.
Hope this helps.

Hi Bill, thanks for getting in touch. There is a new model of Cook Expert about to launch in France however there is no intention of launching in Australia in the foreseeable future.
Some accessories from the new model may be available in Australia later in 2020, this is yet to be confirmed.

Violaasked
May I use it as a air fryer? May I stir fry dishes at a high temperature? May leave the dough inside to ferment? And is there a magimix expert within Penshurst NSW area or place nearby so I can have a test?
1 answer
Magimix A.Magimix
Hi Viola, The cook expert cannot be used as an air fryer.
You can stir fry with the download of an update from our website which gives you higher temperature setting (160c) and a stir fry function.
You can leave dough in the bowl and set it to a low temperature to proof.
We currently do not have a demonstration in your are however you can watch the Cook Expert on TV on Channel 14 TVSN on 18 Sep @ 6.30pm

Does the Magimix Cook Expert replace a blender, food processor, air fryer and/or bench mixer?
In general, why don't companies place a full and detailed manual inside the box? I find this extremely irritating as apparently, do many other consumers.

Shirley
for me the cook expert has replaced a blender; food processor and bench mixer. In addition to those a bread machine, as it will mix dough's as well.
hope this helps

I have a Thermomix TM5 & this has a reverse cycle for the blade. If I were to cook potatoes in the Magimix, would my potatoes end up all mashed? I have a 35 year old Magimix so thought I might replace that, Thermomix & electric pressure cooker to purchase the Cook Expert.

Magimix A.Magimix
Hi Marg, the blades in the Stainless Steel cooking bowl are not sharp so it would not chop it up. Also, you have the option to stop the blades moving during cooking, effectively making it a poacher / sous vide machine as well.
Hope this helps.

Hi, What makes a Magimix Cook Expert better than a Thermomix?

cherryasked
I have had Magimix for forty years but the last one made me vow never again. It is 5100 that I bought 10 years ago and the bowl and lid have never fitted easily together - one of them must be slightly large/small I think. I received zero support from the agent to the shop where I bought it who suggested it was caused by putting the bowl in the dishwasher. Can you assure me that support in Australia is better now?

Rumblegutsasked
This is about the cook expert when using the short blade for making bread dough, the unit while mixing will make noises this sounds like a clutch is slipping when it loads up, even though the ingredients are weighed in at under the 1.8 kilo limit. Is this normal is what want to know?

Hi Rumbleguts,
We recommend calling our customer service line on 1300 624 469 and a team member will be able to assist.

Munchie Masked
Hi, could you please confirm what plastic is used in the lid vent hole and the cap? Can this be removed at all? I rang your hotline and they could only suggest it was either Tritan, ABS or Lexon plastic. Albeit these are BPA free, there is a big difference between these three. Will Magimix look into releasing a lid that has zero internal plastic that could come into contact with food or heat (whether direct or indirectly)? It is such a shame that you go to all the trouble to make a glass lid and stainless steel steam baskets to have plastic on the inside. Could you also confirm what grade silicon is used in the lid and universal blade seals and what type of polymers is used in the silicon as well? Thanks.
1 answer
Hello Munchie M, I think you have directed your questions to the wrong place - I am simply a customer who posted a review. That said, everything about this machine is quality, so would be very surprised if anything known to be dodgy was used. While I highly recommend this machine, reading between the lines … I am just pleased I am not them!

Does anyone have reviews of the dicing kit that you can buy to use with the cook expert? Is it easy to use?
1 answer
I have dicing kit, and yes, is easy to use. Importantly, easy to clean too. Have found that best with crisp things, not so much with softer or spongy things like some pumpkin. I have a Kenwood one too, and as much as I love the Kenwood, the Magimix one is easier to clean, although the Kenwood will do endless quantities. If you do not have a Magimix Cook Expert, strongly advise to get one. It seems way superior to other thermo-cook offerings (yes, I used to have a Thermomix, it was good but sold it years ago as at end of day seems best for its target market of women who have no idea - and for that it does well). For serious functionality and quality, Cook Expert is way above the other contenders.
