It’s good but not value for money
I do like my thermomix because it does makes some recipes really easy, but, the novelty wore of quickly for me. I personally don’t think it is great value for money. I’ve had mine since 2015 so about 5 years. It is bulky so will take up a bit of bench space (plus the extra room you need for any prep you need for the recipe). I have found the numbers to the computerised scales and dials jump when being used. I’ve had other friends say they sent theirs in for a service when this happened but they’ve had theirs 2+ years longer and use it every day...Read more
2-3 times a day. Disappointing mine happened after minimal use, and for some people it doesn’t happen at all. The bowel size is good for cooking for about 4 adults, depending on the recipe, but if catering for more than 4 people you may have to cook double batches. But keep in mind some recipes can have 30 minutes of prep and hour+ of cooking time. - I like the measurement indicators inside the bowl. - I don’t like how smells from previously cooked recipes linger so strongly in the bowl, even after pulling it apart, washing and drying. - I also don’t like how foods and residue stick to the bottom of the bowl so easily. Some people recommend doing a deep clean with egg shells etc to get ride of the residue but personally if I am cleaning something I’d like it to just be clean the first time without having to take more time to clean it again. The TM5 has the recipe chips which are very convenient as you can just follow the steps on the machine. There is also a recipe community page, I personally don’t use it as I’ve been caught out by too many dud recipes that fail, or, don’t taste as great as the reviews would make out, as anyone can make a recipe and post it to the community page. Again I have other friends say they love the recipe community, and others like me who rarely use the site. Overall it’s personal preference, you’re either going to buy it, love it, use it everyday and wonder how you managed without it, or, you’ll let it collect dust and get it out every now and then to whip up a quick rice cream pudding or boil some eggs.Purchased in November 2021.

It’s so bloody noisy!
Love the Thermomix for what it can do. My partner wouldn’t live without it. Me, as the recipient of the finished baking really appreciate what a fine machine it is ..... BUT.... I have no idea how this passed noise standards. If you live in a open plan kitchen forget it. You’ll end up separating. Seriously it’s a real problem. I carry the machine outside to the verandah to let it do its thing because otherwise you cannot have a conversation or watch TV. Otherwise you are in earmuff territory

Love it!
Love my Thermomix. I’ve used it for two years now for countless recipes especially the basics: yoghurt, smoothies, dough, rice, pestos and mash. Not to mention desserts and regular meals.

No customer service whatsoever - terrible experience: 1500 bucks in the thrash
I got the Thermomix TM5, and everything was fine, but after a month there must have been an update and the recipes proposed and the units are now from the USA. However I am French and I do not want to cook using this unit system and recipes in English. It looks like a bug, and it has been almost 6 months that I cannot use it properly, the brand does nothing to help me even after my numerous emails.
The situation is stuck like this, the only contact I get from them is an automated email every month that assures me that they are "sorry and that...Read more
this delay does not correspond to their standards", but after so long waiting hopelessly, I am forced to realize that this is their standards and that my money is forever wasted. They have not done anything for me but to make me sit in a corner waiting like an idiot. I would recommend you take my money and put it in a brand that actually cares about its customers. This is what I will do next time for sure.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Amazing product! Worth every cent
This product is fantastic. Its great for busy mums who have little kids. I can boil rice, steam veges, cook pasta all without having to stand around the stove - I just set it and forget about it. Obviously you can do alot more with it but sometimes its the simple things that are worth it!

Couldn’t cook without it
I was so sceptical of anyone trying to sell these. I thought it have all the appliances that do everything it can’ but wow, was my mind changed?! I use my thermomix EVERYDAY. I make all my own nut butters where others food processors would overheat and die. I use the thermomix to make a lot of raw foods. Absolutely adore it!
Purchased in February 2021 for $2,500.00.

Good product, terrible company and no availability of additional key parts
The TM6 is my first thermomix and I am happy that I decided to purchase one. It’s really great to be able to cook from scratch with not much more effort than using brought products, and the food is mostly pretty good (but add a heap more seasoning than the Cookidoo recipe suggests). Note that if you have allergens, the blades can be quite hard to clean and it’s time consuming to get every trace if you need to do so.
My issue lies with the company itself. In Australia, thermomix supply is controlled by one supplier, and that supplier runs the ...Read more
Australian distribution as an MLM. That is pretty well known, so most people know that going in. My consultant was average at best, he would not do a cooking demonstration because my allergies were too hard to cater for (but in the next breath said it’s great for allergies). At the time of purchase, it was unknown when a second additional bowl would be available to purchase. As at January 1, 2020, the bowls have been released, but are are only available to those who host a cooking experience . So you have to have an MLM consultant demonstrate to you and your friends the use of a machine you already own and paid $2300 for (and your friends probably don’t want to buy, otherwise they would already have one) in order to purchase additional parts for it. I expected the after sales service to be better, and for me to be able to give them money for additional parts without having to submit myself again to their MLM structure.Purchased in May 2021 for $2,269.00.

TM31 great, but arranging repairs a bit difficult
The TM31 is the best but arranging for repairs is a bit difficult. My wife phoned up today to arrange to send my daughter's TM31 for repairs, and got the run-a-round wanting to know her details, when my wife was arranging repairs on her behalf and it is out of warranty. Told to take it to the local post office who will send it on, but did not give the address to put on the box. I do not think that our local post office would get a lot of people dropping off their thermomix machines to be sent for repairs. In the past, when we phone up, ther...Read more
momix would send a courier to pick it up, then later they would let us know the extent of repairs and cost, and if we agree, they would fix it and send it back, and the freight would be included in the cost of repairs. That does not seem to happen in 2020 anymore. We still don't know how and where to send it off for repairs.Purchased in November 2021.

I love my Thermie
I had looked at purchasing a thermomix but was undecided due to the cost and the number of cases of injuries reported in the news.
A friend was having a cooking experience and I sort of invited myself along. It was easy to use, easy to follow the guided recipe (Cookidoo), easy to clean and the Brazilian Cheese puffs and mushroom risotto were delicious.
The cost still held me back. $2200+ is a lot of money if it was just going to sit on my bench.
Another friend planned a cooking experience and I asked to come along. Again I was in love with t...Read more

waste of money!!!
I got the Tm5 only from 3 years and this how it look like now. The crack on the arms of the Thermomix stat to appear after 1 year only but they were quit small. Slowly slowly they are start to expand. The crack under the display it recent. The burn mark on the bowl base just happen 3 weeks ago. the scale stop work properly after few month and the time bottom jump the numbers. I did contact the costumers service where they suggest to send my TM5 to the repairs department for 99. but they will not guaranty me that the damage will be repair. And i...Read more
f so, will cost me more money looking the nature of the damage. They do not know why my Tm5 got those damage and when I suggested that maybe my Thermomix had some manufacture faulty, they denied. At some point the manager of the customer service said that the crack on the arms appear because I remove and replace the bowl to many times! Is that what we suppose to do when we want to transfer the food from the bowl to the plate??? What about the crack on the base of the scream? What about the Burn that appear on the bowl base??? They could not give me an answer. They were keeping repeat to send the thermomix to repair for cost of 99.00 pound. The customers service is awful. They never said that they were sorry for the damage of for the stress I was going through. They never suggest any other solution to my problem rather then send the Tm5 for a repair that cost me money. It really look like they are only interested on making more money rather than making a customer happy!!! I am very angry for the way they manage my problem and I can not suggest to anyone to by the Thermomix.Purchased for $1,200.00.

After service is appalling
These guys will take your money and then walk away. I have attempted to contact Thermomix 4 times to get my scales fixed as they are completely broken and have been for 18 months (a common issues with this particular model if you google online) and never hear back. I have been now left with no choice but to contact the Ombudsman for assistance. These guys are terrible with customer service and I would not recommend forking out the money for a machine because while it works it may be amazing but if it breaks - you will never hear back from them and you will be ghosted.

Great piece of equipment but I dont use it
From my experience it has great build quality. It works well and cooks some things better than I would dream of.
On the other hand its $2000. Dont be foxed, if you are buying this to help in the kitchen and get sold on the idea that you can do everything from scratch, both of those ideas dont happen at the same time. There are some great things it makes like mashed potato and bread but you still need the oven for the latter.
I bought it about 5 years ago and its still going well but have only used it a maximum 20 times. Not worth the money in...Read more

Absolute piece of junk.
My wife bought this in the mistaken belief it would do the cooking for her. She had cancer and wanted to eat healthy. I was in no position to say no. Anyway, she bought it and used it maybe a dozen or so times. It has had faults twice, fixed under warranty. Now it is faulty again and out of warranty. It is now useless. It keeps getting hotter with no control over the temperature. It is dangerous. I estimate the cost of the machine at one hundred dollars per meal. Save your money and go out to a nice restaurant instead.

Essential part of my kitchen
I love my TM6. I’ve made risotto, numerous saucy meals, meatballs, divine yoghurt, pasta, rice, cakes, cookies, smoothies, butter, lemon curd, caramelised onion, coleslaw and other salads, steamed veges and mashed potatoes and I feel I’ve barely scratched the surface in terms of what I can do with it. I have found that food cooks well and evenly and the results are very consistent. There’s no escaping that it’s very expensive but I feel I am getting my money’s worth. I enjoy cooking with it when before I was pretty uninspired in the kitchen.

Customer Service is lacking
We decided to purchase a Thermomix TM6 after an extensive period of research and speaking to friends and colleagues, as well as having an in-home demonstration. During our due diligence we were concerned around the reports of poor reliability in some units but were assured by our consultant that Thermomix had excellent customer care. Our minds more at ease we went ahead with our purchase and were advised to start planning our menu.
Unfortunately, on the initial installation of the device, there was a malfunction. The "scales" function was prov...Read more
iding wayward readings despite restarting, re-positioning, adjusting the power cord, etc. Our consultant advised that this constituted "a major failure", and Thermomix would replace our unit by over-nighting a new TM6 base to us as this is what they had done previously for another client. Apologetically, she informed us the next day that Thermomix would not honour this remedial action and we were to instead return the unit to Thermomix for investigation and "possible repair/replacement". When I contacted Thermomix directly advising we wanted an immediate replacement (as you do, after spending $2269 on a device and being assured of robust customer care, only to be disappointed when the device malfunctions moments after being unpacked), I received a standard response of returning the device for repair/replacement. An abrasive customer services agent could not give an indication as to how long the device would need to be assessed, nor how long it would take for a new unit to be returned. She was unwilling to put me through to her supervisor and I had to await their response. A supervisor only responded to me after a further two days, and only after which I had to chase them for feedback. Whilst the device itself performs admirably when it comes to cooking/churning/mixing/grinding, etc. our experience has been soured by an apathetic customer services department in which I have little faith. If you're considering a Thermomix I would caution you to take promises of excellent after-sales service at face value. I also would hope you get lucky with a device that performs as intended so that you don't need to subject yourself to emails and phonecalls and no satisfactory resolution. Ultimately, our machine was fixed locally by unaffiliated appliance repairman...Purchased in September 2021 for $2,269.00.

I got caught up in the hype - remember - it ONLY does 'wet' food....
This is a super machine for blending, processing & cooking 'wet' foods, but otherwise, it's an expensive gimmick. I got super caught up in the hype & demo & bought one when they were on 'sale' at $1800. I've since made some delicious soups, stroganoffs, stews, curries, etc. But you need to keep in mind it only does wet food. There are only so many stews, soups, strogs & risottos you can eat in a week before you start to crave a good steak & salad, baked dinner or solid food that's not slop. Apparently it's good for cake mix & bread, but as I do...Read more
n't eat either, it's a very expensive soup machine. Also, even though it's great at chopping, processing & constantly stirring food to lock in flavours whilst cooking, it also has blades that 'stir' all of your food, so, even in reverse mode, diced chicken curry turns into curry with minced chicken. Minestrone with chunky veg turns into a blended mush soup. The blades unfortunately cut everything as they stir, so it's hard to ever make anything substantial or not mushy. If you have the disposable income & are happy to have an expensive kitchen machine that will help here & there, by all means, get one. Otherwise, maybe not.Purchased in June 2021 for $1,800.00.

My Thermomix has well and truly paid for itself
I purchased my Thermomix with the intent of reducing our grocery bill and decreasing the processed foods in our household. I can honestly say that this definitely happened. I learn't to make a lot of basics from scratch by speaking to my consultant, utilising the Thermomix resources and Cook Key, and also by sourcing from the various third party recipe developers for Thermomix such as Skinny Mixers. My husband was initially against this purchase but within 6 months he was admitting that it was one of the best house appliance purchases we had ma...Read more
de. It is not a difficult machine to use but you do not need to stick to Thermomix recipes for a little while to learn the machine and get a feel for the functions before you go and start doing your own recipes. It didn't initially save time however once I became confident in using it it definitely cuts down the time it takes to cook dinner and prepare snacks/baking for the week. I even regularly bake my own bread.Purchased in July 2021 for $2,089.00.

It’s a decent machine but should be more reliable for this amount of money.
In my case I’ve already spent over $1000 for servicing. The scale broke multiple times and the software is really laggy. It freezes for a few seconds at least 2-3 times each day since the software update a year ago. I paid for a service to look at the software, they always take around $100 for it but is again is slow when I can back home so I’m basically wasting money. For a machine valued $2100 it should be more reliable. If it breaks another time I’ll throw it away and buy an Aldi equivalent for $300. And the Cookidoo disconnects on high spee...Read more
