Reviewing match.com.au - the Australian version.
What other people have said is true.. but not entirely. Yes, there are many dodgy accounts and possibly fake ones, by this I mean when you start chatting with people the stories don't add up. Certainly 4/5 women I have contacted or been contacted by I am skeptical about but, I play a numbers game. If 4/5 are not what they seem and I contact 20 women, then I've found four real women - which is where I'm at now.

I've found: * Real women will almost always have more than one photo, regardless of their aesthetic appeal or lack there of. * Read the "about me" section. If it's vague and sounds a bit like a poorly worded fairytale, ignore. * Look at the "about my life" and "about my date section" - the more detail the more likely they are to be bonafide.Similar opinion? I have subscribed to this site a couple of days ago and only use the site for 1 day. I couldn't log-in to my account for 4 days now which i don't really understand why.. I emailed them many times but have not received any single reply. It is very frustrating for me because I am not getting the service which i paid for. Just wondering if any of you here had this problem with the site? What should I do to contact them? I tried their way but I dont think its working.
I have experienced a very bad service on this site. I paid so much money and not been able to use their site because i cannot login to my account. I only used it for 1 day and that's the end of it.

Terrible
Too much is based on a picture and a profile. The participants become very picky and there is not a true interactive exchange as when the encounter is in-person. A small slip in a profile statement or email can doom what might have been a great relationship. Its difficult to get to the meeting stage. rry but not too bad. I am physically fit and somewhat intelligent. This is not the fault of Match, Its a characteristic of communicating by photo, profile and email. It gives people with limited in-person social contact a way to meet and perhaps find romance. Artificial, unnatural and quite frustrating. However, you can meet someone if you are lucky and stumble across the right person. Warning, it can be damaging to self esteem. When someone decides you are not it, they just stop sending emails. You will do the same in most cases.

I van't get any support for a simpe problem!
Overall there appears to be a lot of people, but once you filter out the fakes there aren't as may as first appears. The site works well until you have a problem. Its easy to search based on criteria you set. You can set it up receive e-mails based on your criteria. However if you have a problem, there is NO phone support, and to date I have had no response to the support e-mails I sent.
Easy to search ased on your own criteria. Serveral options for contating people of interest.
NO support if you have a problem, lots of fake profiles.

My experience has been very unsatisfactory. They have now changed the "Subscription System" forcing almost every member to pay for a subscription. I have paid twice for the "Contact Me for Free" subscription, the first time was fine. This second time, they have introduced the new system half way through my Sub' and now it is not working correctly. I am being stopped from 'replying' to a member that contacts me. d nothing. My advice... Look around before signing up. They are very happy to take your money, but they don't deliver the service you pay for. Lots of people. Administration.. absolutely hopeless. I am currently having a major problem with a subscription that I have paid for and it is not working. I have emailed them SIX times and they only replied to the fourth email and even then it was just a "Form Letter". They obviously did not read the content or make mention of any of the issues that I am having. Their correspondance and so called HELP system is unbelieveably poor. Since there are plenty of sites that you can sign up for that are genuinely free I don't see what match.com really has to offer. The membership is smaller than other sites where you will get the option to actually talk to a lot more people.
I deleted my membership after a couple of days since it was not what I signed up for.
Was a waste of time because there was no clear disclosure that you have to be a paying member to make replies. As a non paying member you can wink at people and they can send you a message but you are not able to answer it.

d that is why my profile is not showing, I querie well why was my subscription money taken when my profile can't be shown???? go to site try to find where to change my profile name looks like I have to make a completely new profile?? 6 days into my subscription profile is still not showing no acceptable answer to my queries or solution to my problem.....remember for most of this year I have had my profile up there with this user name. I for one definately won't be using them again. I was fortunate enough to meet my husband on this site, we have been married now for three years and have a beautiful baby girl. BUT... I did meet a lot of lemons along the way and had my feelings hurt more than once. You can't trust that everyone is being honest with you because unfortunately people do lie. You do sometimes make a connection with someone but upon meeting them in person don't feel the same way so you just need to be sensible about it and not jump in head first.
Good way to meet people if you are shy.
People are dishonest and it is easy to have your feelings hurt by people who are on there to have a good time and are not really looking for a relationship.

yes it is. be very careful there are a lot of scammers with false information about them self's
on that website i had a russian women claiming to be from melbourne Australia yet she was on the other side of the world many have fake profiles misleading information about them self's .and match.com don't screen these people.i was called a scammer myself by a lady i didn't even know i kept getting abused whatever that was about i have know idea what's going on with that website i had match take my profile down i don't want nothing to do with them the people on there are very strange to say the least.i'm glad i wasn't a paid member avoid match.com like the plague.the other annoying them when you set up a profile i ended up with popups of other dating agencies all the time i never got peace it's very hard contacting match after many tries i had success not very organised.i hope this helps you and keeps you safe from scammers.
It is real but definitely be aware. Probably the most fake profiles I have encountered on a 'paid' dating site. I agree with Mark.. be careful. I have taken my profile off match and tried to delete my pics and profile answers descriptions etc... and I still get the occasional message from a member. Very annoying. Also their Customer Service is a joke... just have your eyes open - very wide.
