Nice car
Very good and reliable car . Easy to handle and low maintenance.
Fuel economy is excellent . The drive is smooth and not tiring.
The interior has enough room for a family of 5 and can sit easy.
Very stilish interior design.
Acceleration is impressive and smooth .
Won't regret the purchase

Fantastic Car!!!
What an absolute pleasure to drive and with so much style. The efficiency is amazing and the features are very well thought through. Beautifully finished and since I purchase this car new, it has never missed a beat. Very spacious for the whole family and I love the responsiveness of the twin turbos.

I love this car
After much research we decided on purchasing a Mazda 6 wagon. It lives up to all of the great features promoted and more. Driving performance & handling is superb. Such a smooth ride.So economical to run. I love the istop and ieloop features. Roomy and comfortable and being the wagon version, the boot is huge, perfect for our dog. Push button start is awesome & the interior looks classy. Bluetooth, navigator, reversing camera, usb, aux.
Only complaint, seats are hard to clean, especially dog hair

Very nice car for touring
Engine has heaps of torque, excellent for long drives. Handles well but like most wagons the cornering isn't great. Road noise is good. Avg about 5.8litres/100km on long drives and a litle worse in town. Interior is very nice with leather finish. Reliability has be fine, a few minor niggles with the reversing sensors otherwise fantastic. Don't put petrol into it though (like my wife did) as it cost $16K to fix (all but $500 was covered by insurance). The fuel pump and injectors were $9k alone!!!

Great car. Practical yet satisfying, with few weaknesses.
The Mazda 6 is a great all-rounder. It does everything it's designed to do pretty well and nothing outright badly. In addition to being reliable everyday transport, it's a lot more fun to drive than I expected any affordable front-wheel-drive sedan to be. While it's not especially fast - any 6-cylinder Commodore or Falcon will outpace it - the Mazda 6's 2.3L 4-cylinder is more than adequate. It has pretty good power and torque for the car's weight. Around town it feels swift and nimble, and it remains capable on higher-speed country roads.

he engine is paired with a 5-speed automatic transmission, which is a pretty impressive unit for its age. It's well behaved and unintrusive in regular driving, and it's reasonably quick to downshift when you want more go. It doesn't stubbornly cling to the high gears for too long like some autos I've driven. The transmission is also smart enough to sense when you're braking down a hill and will downshift to help slow the car with engine braking. You can also do this yourself by using the manual override. Where it really shines is in the corners - It has exceptional handling for a non-performance car. Even under heavy cornering, it remains very flat and stable, with minimal body roll. Only when pushed very hard will it start to understeer. The handling is enhanced further by the car's very good steering. Whether taking curves at speed or just driving around the suburbs, the steering is accurate, consistently weighted, and provides a good amount of feedback. The steering is a bit on the heavy side (by power steering standards), requiring a bit more effort than in most cars to turn the wheel at low speeds, but I enjoy it that way and it's a small price to pay for the general goodness of it out on the road. This car's steering remains my favourite of any car I've driven, including much newer cars. The ride is a bit on the firm side - a luxury car this is not - but it's still reasonably comfortable over bumps, it's not at all hard to live with. There is also a fair bit of road noise at highway speeds. I can still hold conversations with my passengers without having to shout, so it generally doesn't bother me much, but if you spend a lot of time on coarse chip surfaces at 100+ km/h, I could imagine it starting to wear on the nerves after a while. On the inside, the seats are firm and suppportive with good bolstering. I find them to be comfortable enough for long-trips. The controls are well-laid out and easy to reach, instruments are easy to read, and there are plenty of adjustments to make including height and reach adjustments for the steering wheel. The cabin is fairly spacious for the size of the car, and leg and headroom are pretty good, although it might get a bit tight for the rear passenger if someone over 6 ft were in the driver's seat. My family being of average height (5'11'' at most), we had no issues. Cargo space is ample, and the seats fold down in the typical 60/40 split for even more cargo capacity. Loading large objects through the sedan's narrower boot opening can be tricky, so if shifting a lot of big things around is a priority you'll want to go for the hatch bodystyle, as that solves that problem nicely while being just as good a car as the sedan.Similar opinion? Very reliable car
My 2007 Mazda 6 luxury sport has 366,000 kms on the clock and has never let me down. My mum brought it new and passed it down to me in 2012 and I can honestly say I never want to get rid of it.
If your looking for a reliable and comfortable car that wont cost you a fortune to buy, maintain and fill the Mazda 6 is definitely worth a look at. I want to keep mine for along as I can. :)

Excellent all round
I've kept my eye on the Mazda 6 range ever since it was introduced in the early 2000s. Finally took the plunge in 2014 and love almost everything about it. The 'zoom-zoom' factor really holds true as it really is a lot of fun to drive, especially around windy roads. The steering wheel feels very responsive, yet safe at the same time. Not the quietest of drives but good enough for me. Petrol usage is excellent and the flip-down rear seats is a life saver when I take my bicycles on the road with me. Although subjective, I love the exterior and in...Read more
terior design of the car. Everything feels very solid and made of good quality materials. The exterior design is still my favourite in the consumer car market to date. My only complaints: - Navigating the entertainment system is a pain due to bad UI design, especially when searching for MP3 music tracks on a USB device. A larger screen would also be nice. - Regular .m3u playlists are not recognised. Windows media player playlists are, but again a pain to convert between these formats. - GPS system is really slow/unresponsive - Voice commands are fiddly so I rarely use them - Bluetooth connection to my phones take a very long time before I can start playing music. - I had a problem with 2 of my Android phones where the in-car phone/voice system would on occasion not work when I tried making a call from the phone, resulting in me having to switch to the phone's handsfree/speaker mode. Receiving calls however always worked fine. - No easy way to tell whether the rain-sensing wiper mode is enabled. The mode dial/knob doesn't clearly show a line to indicate which mode is currently selected. Sometimes I thought I had the right mode selected, or accidentally changed it.Similar opinion? Great vehicle. Reliable and looks great too.
I bought this vehicle as I had only heard good things about it and because it looks great too. The driving experience is really nice, I feel like it's more than a standard family vehicle. It feels sporty with a dash board that looks like it was made for a racing vehicle (still easy to use but a great look and feel). Only issue I've had is with the Blue Tooth. Worked fine with my iPhone 6 but the iPhone 7 Blue Tooth isn't fully compatible so I haven't been able to use it anymore. Other than that it has a great engine, great feel, and is super reliable packed with all the features you'd expect from a modern vehicle.

Brilliant value
Bought brand new in 2008, has 186,000kms on the clock. Avg fuel consumption is showing 7.8l/per 100kms. Only ever used E10 except when I used Prem 98 for about 3 months when it was cheap. Made no difference to economy and I did not notice any performance benefits.
Serviced by Mazda for first 5 years. Only problems have been leaking rear shock absorber which started after a service and a distorting rear door speaker. Both fixed under warranty without a problem.
Good quality finish, quiet, safe and powerful. Manual 6 speed is easy to use. Huge load space, comfortable seats with good legroom, good air con and sound system.

Great car
Got a second hand Mazda 6 2014 for my first car.
Very happy with it, drink very little fuel, look beautiful after polish,
The new styling of the Mazda makes me wonder why would you ever buy other cars in its price range,
interior still works looks fresh unlike some other cars,
performance was bit lacking on higher rpm but that what you should expect
and car is very quiet when driving.

Air bag light issue
I have a 2008 Mazda 6 Luxury sport and have had the airbag light off and on for last 6 years. The car now on the recall list for airbag issue.
In the last year of the warranty period I took the car into the dealer twice when the light would come on and they would reconnect connectors uder the driver's seat and the light would go out for a little bit but not record this on their system as it was not done during scheduled service.
Once they could no longer fix the issue by pushing the plugs back in and warranty was over, all of a sudden Mazda...Read more

Pretty good
Bought a 2012 model 2nd hand with 130k on it. Really nice inside and pretty good entertainment system for it's age. Car looks much nicer than alternatives at a similar price. Auto is sluggish although I have always had manuals. Even the padels feel slow to respond. Has a bit of go when using the padels but doesn't set the world on fire. Happy with my purchase

I can not recommend this car enough
To say I love this car is an understatement . I bought this car with a car allowance from work as I work in sales and am in my car 80% of the day . I have had many company cars over the years and this compares to any I've had . As I drive all day I need a car that is comfortable, safe and responsive . The Mazda is all of that . I can not recommend this car enough

A quick summary of ownership.
1. Handling, smooth; understeer, disconnected from the road.
2. Performance, 2.2litre twin turbo diesel: smooth and perky, at times feels like a petrol, noisy.
3. Noise, lots of road and wind noise penetrating the cabin.
4. Easy to navigate dash unit, plenty of leg room, boot space is good in the X and Y dimension but falls short on the Z dimension.
5. Reliability: 4 years so far, nil issues. Ask a mechanic, my individual report is not a big enough sample size.
6. Diesel true litres/100km is about 6.9 with the air conditioning cranked up with 50% high way and 50% town driving.

Great Car Nice Features
What a Car!!
I purchased used 2004 Mazda 6 Sports luxury hatch Automatic with 134000 km odo. I was having limited budget but needed a car as family was moving in from abroad.I was skeptical about the performance when I was given the car for a test drive. When I got in the car and went for a spin and decided to make her mine. Believe me, this is really the best for its age.
It had all the luxury features - electrical adjustable driver seat, sun roof, leather seats and electrical windows. A/C is powerful too. Boot opens fully to accommodat...Read more
e big luggage. Good legroom too. One can enjoy manual shifting of gears in addition to the auto gear. good disc breaks that gives confidence to floor the accelerator and she responds really well for that. Easily catches up 3 digit mark and is very steady in that range. She came with bose music system with 6 CD changer. They should have provided Aux cable, it would have been better. But cant ask more for the 13 yr old beauty. I have clocked almost 2k kms till now and she never let me down at any point of time. My kids enjoy the sun roof the most. Mazda 6 rocks!! I would recommend to buy an used Mazda 6 Luxury Sports!Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

2003 Lux Sports. Mazda 6
Great car! I absolutely love it!!!! It is perfect for myself and my son, however my partner is 6ft4, and he struggles to fit in the car, however it is for me and not him. The boot space is great, and I can fit so much in there, pram and tonnes of groceries.
I have the Luxury Sports Model, and the only negative/con is that it needs premium everything (service parts, petrol, oil) so it gets quite expensive around service time, and when it needs to be filled.
Costs me about $70 to fill the tank.

Absolute Gem
I purchased a used 2005 Mazda 6 for the purpose of small trips from A to B. The car has been perfect. Not one hitch in all my time driving it (That was the car's fault). The drivers seat is comfortable and the adjustments that can be made to it are great, The car has leg room and none of the boys have complained. Th only thing that i wish was made in the old Mazda's was an AUX!

Great car but lacks a lot of power
Recently purchased a 2017 Mazda 6 Atenza, which is the top of the line model with beautiful shadow chrome wheels. This car looked the goods in the showroom and lived up to it's hype during the test drive.
With DAB Radio, GPS & Active Cruise Control along with comfortable Nappa Leather seats it seemed like the perfect family car for a family with 2 tall adult boys.
However, upon receiving the car and having driven it for just under 3 months, I'd have to say it is fairly mediocre. The 2.5L engine in the car starts to rev incessantly while a...Read more
ttempting to climb steep hills. There isn't as much overtaking power as any of the previous cars we have owned in a similar fashion (previous car was a 2012 Mercedes C250 for reference) But the worst and most painful problem would have to be the GPS system. There are some mornings where it'll just never load.. like absolutely never load. When it does load, the touchscreen on it is horrendous irregardless of whether I'm pressing the screen hard or soft. I think the GPS system would be this cars biggest downfall.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Great for new drivers and economical as well
I recently moved to Sydney for post-graduate education and I was looking for a reasonably priced car that is roomy as I am a bit on the larger side. When I found this silver sedan that was well-maintained by its previous owner, I bought this up immediately and I have been loving it since then. Running costs are low, its a reliable vehicle with ample leg room and the only problem I faced was some noise from the tyres during parking. Other than that, I'm very happy with this car.

My Mazda 6 hatch GH, 2010 luxury sports model, (sunroof, leather seats, navigation system etc) passenger side dash has just recently started "melting" after being parked in the sun (Brisbane QLD) for a few hours over several days. This car is garaged every night, when at head office it is parked under shade sails or totally undercover. It has 96000 km on the clock. Not a lot of Kilometers as I have another older Mazda 626 that I use for a lot of other tasks, such as parking at bus stations, etc. Is Mazda Australia replacing these obviously faulty dash's? Mine is under ten years old and in America they accepted the fault and extended the warranty to ten years for the dash. I see the Mazda 3 also has the same problem as well. Seen footage where Current Affairs in New Zealand got involved for a owner who was ignored from the start and the issue was resolved free of charge, after their involvement. I had the previous Mazda 6 Hatch 2006, model GG from new and never had an issue with it. Only sold it last year, 2022. If they are not willing to fix it I doubt I will buy another new Mazda. Will they replace it? It should be done free of charge.
Update, went to Mazda Mt Gravatt (QLD) today (28/01/2020) and they are going to fit a new passenger side dash on Friday (31/01/2020). That is the section of dash that is affected, in three days time at no charge. Excellent response, Zoom, Zoom Mazda.
