Overall great idea for a multi purpose thermometer with the unfortunate fail in the critical body temp readings. Measured 3 family members who will get 36.4 to 38 around the head, the temple area varies by 1 to 1.4 deg. Pretty useless to guide if a baby has fever or not as well as an adult.
Purchased in May 2021 for A$60.00.

Inaccurate, calibration instructions are useless
So this reads at 1.1-1.5 degrees cooler than the actual temperature. Instructions on recalibration are useless - holding the mode & C/F buttons at the same time does nothing. Will be returning.

Loved it but button won't always work!
Great thermometer, however for the price i expect it to last more than 2 years..
the main button has been sticky - hard to turn on and even harder to get a temperature. My son suffers from a rare disease and this is vital to us. Doubt we will purchase another one because of this issue.

Waste of money
Absolute waste of money. Never give an accurate reading, even you can feel the child fever. There is no consistency and gives the only reading of 35.6 all the time. Even with high fever of 38. We have to use the under arm which give an accurate reading. Never trust this one.

I love this thermometer!!
Easy to use and accurate. Having used ear thermometers in the past and all the hassle with them. I Just love this one !! Very helpful instructional video on YouTube as well. Would highly recommend for all age groups. Would go as far as saying I want to buy a second one to leave at mum’s.

Inaccurate and frustrating!
Absolute waste of money! I followed the instructions and get a difference of a whole degree when measuring temperature in the same spot. Not helpful when your newborn is sick. So frustrated that I’m now going to have to spend more money on a replacement. It’s ridiculous to blame the salesperson when it’s quite clear this product doesn’t do what it’s supposed to.

I bought this after having issues with a previous thermometer. Used it on a 6 month old which had a high temperature and this worked well enough to pick it up. However, you need to follow the exact instructions on taking measurements on the right temple only...the temperature WILL vary on different areas and DO NOT use it on the forehead (will yield higher results). Also, the click is noticeable by my baby when she is asleep.... More or less does the job!

Broken screen
I would have to agree with a lot of the people on here regarding the temperature variances even when aimed in right spot. You get many different temp readings. I was still using it quite often until the screen recently broke. And it’s unusable now without very loud volume which cannot be used if baby if asleep to monitor fevers. Really disappointed that now I am left thinking I need to spend a small fortune now on a replacement.

Overall a decent thermometer - easy-to-read screen, and the colour indicators linked with temperatures provides a quick visual of where things are. Relatively straightforward to turn off the volume (which is really loud). We recommend the use on the right temple since there is a major blood artery in that area (Temporal Artery) which will help us get a most accurate reading. Also, we recommend you take three readings since the babies have smaller arteries and we would like to ensure that we got a good reading, always use highest. (Please note that with all Infra Red thermometers, you must take multiple readings then use the highest reading, ear, forehead, etc.) I am not sure if you have the sound switched off as with the sound off, you are able to obtain a temperature reading in a second. Broken screen and loud readings
The screen on ours broke within the first 4 months of having it.
I have emailed and rang the company and not been given any options for fixing the device only the option of buying a new one.
The broken screen means we can only get an accurate temperature reading with the sound on. With no volume control I resort to wrapping fabric around the speaker when trying to check my children during the night. It is very loud!
A more durable screen or options for repair would make this a better and more affordable product.

Convenient but unsure of accuracy
Was originally shown by chemist how to use this thermometer which turned out to be incorrect. Once i read instructions it seems to work a little better however i really question its accuracy. i can take 5 readings and get 5 different results - with about 1.5 degrees difference between the lowest and highest reading. Also if it is not in the exact right spot it can make the difference even more. The only thing i like about this thermometer is i can take the temps withought it touching them.

When used on the young, it is a requirement to take 3 readings from the right temple only then use the highest reading obtained. This procedure is essential when using infrared thermometers as it is quite normal to receive different temperatures. When used on young children, infrared thermometers can yield varying temperatures because the blood vessels are so small and all infrared thermometers can easily miss. This is the reason it is advised to take 3 readings and then use the highest reading obtained. This technique is a requirement in all infrared thermometers. For example, when using an ear thermometer, 3 readings must be taken from both the left and right ears and the highest reading used. Cool product and great customer service
We were given the Medescan Touchless thermometer from a friend when our baby was born. For the most part, the thermometer has been pretty helpful and super easy to use. Just make sure to follow the instructions on taking the temperature several times (with 15 seconds in between) to get the most accurate reading. Our older daughter dropped ours, unfortunately, and the body temperature readings stopped working. I contacted the company and they were happy to replace our unit and shipped a new one immediately. I feel very grateful for their service and highly recommend them and this product!

Excellent product and customer service
I've always been very happy with my touchless thermometer and I almost cried today when it somehow fell off the shelf and the screen smashed ( I have two sick kids also). Best buy and a must for all parents
We bought this product at the Pregnancy Baby expo. Great people. They explained the thermometer to us with a lot of detail. They really pushed the fact that when we use with our newborn, we should take 3 readings and then use the highest. At first I was not sure if this will waste time, but when I took it home and used it on the little one I found it so easy and fast. It's awesome and I think the best thing since sliced bread.

That's what I see the negative reviewers talking about. It's so easy, just take the 3 readings and use the highest. Always accurate, even our local doctor is using it (I only just noticed now since buying for myself). We love it, think it's easy and doesn't bother our bub when she's asleep. inaccurate temp
I really wanted to like this product. Unfortunately its not reliable when you need it most. It read three different temps in 15 seconds ranging from 36 -39.1
Thought it may have been the one I bought so I exchanged it for another one and the brand new one does exactly the same.

Shocking - inaccurate measures and stay away from the product
A friend gave this product as a gift to me. My little one is having a temp above 40 degrees, and it gave me results as - 36.5 in the right temple, 38.7 underarm and 39.3 near the neck. Whilst ur r stressed, the only comment I have for the crap is it is not even worth the place in my bin!!! Do urself a favour and stay away from this rubbish!

Great.
I've had one for 4 years now. Read the same as the thermometers used at the Princess Margaret Hospital for Children. Took Jnr there because of a persistent fever and the Medescan was within .2 of a degree of their units.
You have to aim at the blood vessel in the forehead, as in the instructions and much easier to use than an ear one.
The room temp function is good is you are worried the kids are too hot or cold... for example for when you are using a steam vapouriser and are worried the room is getting too warm.
Very happy with it, I am getting a second one for the ex.

Inaccurate & inconsistent
Purchased this thermometer having researched many and read loads of reviews, this one came up trumps. Sadly though apparently spending $100 for a 'quality product' doesn't mean it functions properly. I read the directions leaflet to ensure I was using the device properly and still the readings given are widely inaccurate and can change 1-2deg in a matter of minutes - not good considering you're relying on this to confirm whether or not your child has a fever or when they're having febrile convulsions and it's telling you they're '36.6deg' which in actually fact is 40.2deg! do yourself a favour and spend the extra money and purchase the Braun branded thermometer the paediatricians use

I would like to assure you that all our thermometers are tested and calibrated at factory to within plus or minus 0.1 degree. If the temperature is reading 1.5 degrees below the actual body temperature then there could be a couple of reasons: 1. The thermometer could be in surface temperature mode and not in Body mode and as such only giving you the temperature of the skin surface and not the blood flow temperature 2. The temperature taken on the right temple is generally higher than that obtained under the armpit (Axillary), and the best way to take a reading is to point the thermometer directly at the right temple and then take 3 readings (for children) and then use the highest reading obtained. This is standard technique for all infrared thermometers. 3. Regarding calibration, it is best to contact our customer service team to guide you through the calibration process.
