Profession Development easily accessed
I was satisfied that the Webinar covered all my unanswered questions. MHA gave me a global experience of what is happening around the world as a global problem. This summit was not difficult at all if you are able to time manage. If you couldn't get to it then there were other opportunities to complete it
September 20th 2022 Update: Personal development
Great for learning more and the personal development hours. I'd recommend the MHA to others as I've been with them for years. I was highly satisfied with the different topics to learn from. It was not difficult at all. You can read it in text style or through a video. So right and left learners catered for.

Information we all need.
So many facets to a topic that unfortunately as workers within the field we need to know. Every speaker gave a fresh insight from their particular aspect, from correct language to use, to cultural considerations. Thank you for your time and for how the lectures were delivered Pedro.

2019 Suicide Prevention Summit
I always enjoy the Mental Health Academy Summits. The choice of presenters are always excellent; leaders in their fields and international in scope. I also like the intensity of the summit with hourly breaks provided in-between each session. I look forward to the next summit.

I thoroughly enjoyed the 2022 Suicide Prevention Summit.
The presenters were excellent and all had a profound understanding of their subject matter and were able to deliver information in an engaging manner. I downloaded the presentations so as to revisit some of the presentations as I found topics such as the Helplines most informative and will be useful for me in performance of my work. I particularly appreciated being able to access Webinars that suited my working schedule, this made a tremendous difference in my capacity to participate in continued learning - thank you. A fantastic, well delivered and diverse learning experience
The Mental Health Summit was such a well delivered, easily accessible and diverse selection of presentations and presenters from across the world. To be able to 'attend' such a fantastic learning experience from my regional home at no cost was so good. This means of information delivery is definitely the way of the future, cost effective, streamline and accessible to all. Well done Mental Health Academy. Very progressive.

Great Introduction to Suicide Prevention
Thank you to Pedro and the team at Lifeline for putting on an amazing 2022 Suicide Prevention Summit. This was my first experience of a webinar from the MHA as I'm new to the industry and I was particularly impressed with the quality of presentations, the variety of presenters (worldwide) and the diversity of presentations on the one subject. They were all extremely informative, professional and easy to understand. Thank you for providing the opportunity to view the recordings post webinar, this was a big help as I was unable to view them at th...Read more
e time of the webinar. Amazing also to hear of the work being done on this topic not only in Australia, but around the world and I got from it, a very distinct reinforcement of how important the "lived experience" is. Well done Pedro, the respectful way you engaged with all the presenters before their presentations and during the Q&A sessions was a lovely experience as well. Thank you!1 comment

Amazing Summit fill with over-flowing information
The 2022 Suicide Prevention Summit presented by the MHA was one of the best, well presented, informative and professional summits I have ever attended.
The links provided for further information, clarity, study and support were invaluable.
The presenters who offered their time are amazing and many thanks to Lifeline who took the immense task on to organise such an all important event and Pedro was an awesome host and very professional in his manner of questioning, and giving clarity to things and left no stone unturned.
THANK YOU!!

An amazing three days of learning during the MHA 2022 Suicide Prevention Summit.
The Webinars were professional, highly educational and very interesting. The way the Summit was structured made it easier to take in the information relayed and the presenters were fantastic. The links given for further information, study and support were invaluable. I learnt so much from the Summit and will certainly be joining the next one. Such a lot of effort went into these presentations from extraordinarily busy people who gave their time to share their knowledge and insight with us. I am very grateful for that. Thank you to Pedro, MHA and Lifeline for organising such an amazing event.
Kind Regards

Great learnings. I can pick and choose the courses I want to do. Having the test at the end for me means that I can embed it into my memory.

What an EPIC three day event!!!
This was my first adventure into the MHA 2022 Suicide Prevention summit online webinar was fantastic. Professional in every sense...from the amazing speakers to Pedro's Q&A sessions and managing the odd technical difficulties. So much up to date and relevant information over the three days that we can take into the complex world of mental health and suicide prevention. Practical information that we can use to encourage clients stories and provide useful community links. Loved so many of the sessions and brought Stacey Freedenthal's book and download apps...information overload but in a positive way.
Big thanks to Pedro and all the team for a successful event. Now just to integrate it all.
Cannot wait for the next one.
Regards Deanne

A good Webinar with interesting Presenters
I found the webinar to be interesting with sone really interesting Presenters. After many years working in the therapeutic field i really found the new theories & ideas really useful. I especially liked the subjects highlighting peer support on Lived Experiences.
I hope many Professionals will take on these new ideas which are showing benefits and hopefully the lessening of the numbers of suicides throughout the World.
Question time was great and good to be able to access any missed sessions later.
Thank you to Pedro for his excellent facilitation.

2019 Suicide Prevention Summit
Mental Health Academy and Lifeline Australia partnered to bring a suicide prevention online conference via 15 live, 1-hour webinar sessions, with session recordings available for on-demanding streaming for 14 days afterwards. It was entirely free to attend. It brought together presenters from around the globe, providing the opportunity to learn, be challenged and encouraged. Insight was gained by looking at the latest knowledge and support/treatment options for suicide prevention from different perspectives.
Thank you to all involved.

Great deal for counselling students
The 30 day trial was an amazing offer. I am so grateful to MHA for this. I used it to complete 6 short courses, one with several components that could be done separately. This has helped me gain further knowledge and skills to use on placement as well as accrue CPD points, all before my usual study commitments of the semester have kicked in. The charity component of MHA making donations to several causes was also a great motivator. The courses were of varying levels of complexity and the assessments mostly very straightforward.Thank you MHA. I will be considering a paid membership in the future.

This gives me the opportunity to undertake extra learning at a time that suits me and is appropriate to my needs
I was impressed with the content as being relevant to my current job as a crisis supporter. I found the assessment more of a learning experience than a 'test' and it was possible to return to the course content for clarification if necessary.

An excellent adjunct to face to face PD training
Provides an excellent over view of a number of relevant therapies/topics, and has encouraged me to delve deeper into therapies that I have been initially cynical about. Allows me to obtain my necessary PD without panicking at the end of the year!

Apart from the initial/annual subscription fee, are there any other costs that I might/will incur by using your educational site?
Kind regards

Hi Siobhan,
I pay the subscription monthly and since being a member have attended a number of Master Classes and the annual Summits and have not paid any extra. So, no, no extra costs/ fees.
Joshua L.Mental Health Academy
Hi Siobhan. Yes, Karen nailed the answer - our membership fees are all-inclusive, so you don't need to pay any additional fees to enrol in our short courses. The fees also cover your assessments, Certificates, and more. All the best!

I am a qualified social worker working in mental health. Am I able to use this membership to complete my cpd to obtain mental health social worker accreditation with the AASW. It appeared that I could before I joined but now I am a little confused. Thanks

You can use it to maintain the required annual CPD points for your AMHSW accreditation
Joshua L.Mental Health Academy
Hi Steph, thanks for your question. All our courses are endorsed for CPD by the AASW. As an AMHSW you are also required to undertake CPD which specifically covers Focussed Psychological Strategies, or FPS. Currently we offer over 90 hours of FPS-related CPD - to identify which courses cover FPS, you can either use our "Topics" filter (in the Catalogue page), or you can refer to our FPS Course Collection: https://www.mentalhealthacademy.com.au/catalogue/collections/focussed-psychological-strategies-fps-topics

Hi I was wondering if I join the mental health academy will I still have access to the super summit. Thanks kate

Yes, the Mental Health Academy is for ongoing professional development, to learn more on counselling therapies, and obtain certificates.
If you are with the Australian Counselling Association the points get added to your OPD log.
Joshua L.Mental Health Academy
Hi Kate! Thank you for your question. Registration for the Mental Health Super Summit is separate to MHA membership, as part of the event's purpose is to raise funds for charity. That being said, after each edition of the Summit, many of the sessions are converted into MHA courses and are available for members via our Catalogue. Thus, by becoming a MHA Premium member, you'll have access to most sessions from previous editions for the Mental Health Super Summit. If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to ask. All the best!
