Ive had my vito 120 since new.
It was the dealer van that was used for test driving among interested buyers of the new range. And i took ownership with only 735 kms clocked....currently sitting 3000 ks under 200,000
This particular van was arranged to give example of how versatile the Vito platform could be. The back space is empty with a hard fairly durable flooring pannel. are reason enough to have purchased the vehicle. Up front is a different story. Spacious with great seating height from ground, good comfortable driving position for city or long haul driving. Its quite easy to forget that your driving a van and instead think your in a much smaller piece of machinery..... Heated seats, arm rests, electric windows heated side mirrors, darkend privacy windows on rear doors, All round of a great example with which to build into your own version of van heaven.... I wouldnt have any other vehicle take care of my personal transport needs. With 3.5 turbo diesel comanding highest output overall than any other van or 4wd on the market at same time. It can easily put v8 sedans in its mirrors even with a half ton of weight in the back... its brilliant. Its worth every cent so far..... a word to the wise, Dont loose the keys.... just under $600 replacement cost per item.Purchased in September 2021.

Vito SWB 113cdi, 2012, 2.1 litre diesel.
I bought a SWB crew Vito with back seats bench fitted. I found the Vito to be quite good. I had a big problem with transmission jumping into "limp mode". Very hard to trace cause, as it would happen at any time. After quite some time and all kinds of replacement parts, the dealer arranged for new TCU (transmission control unit). Mercedes Benz was quite good about this as the vehicle was only just out of warranty and they covered the cost. I'm not super impressed with the basic audio system, but It does the job. uickly, but I now fill tyres with nitrogen and this has helped a lot. The only thing I found annoying was that the vehicle was not fitted with safety handles above the doors or handles to assist with entry or egress. I had those fitted after market.Similar opinion? Reliability plus.
I drive a vito 110cdi as a pilot vehicle, it is a 2012 model will be 4 years old next month. It has 590, 000 ks on the clock and is going as good now aa when it was new. Has never broken down. Only thing that has been repaired is the alternater at 560, 000ks. Yes parts are dear, but that is the norm for any high end euro car.

Hiace is downright agricultural after driving the Vito
Well after 13 years of driving 2 Hiace petrol vans from new I decided to step out and look to what Mercedes Benz has to offer after reading too many horror stories about the guzzling iload.
So when it came down to price I compared the iload, Hiace and the Vito 113cdi and the with the cargo barrier, side window, roof racks and mats it worked out the Vito was the most expensive. BUT only by $1000!
So with the bonus of 2 years free servicing every 12 months (not like toyota's ridiculous 6 month servicing for $170 racket and have the van off the ...Read more

Excellent Vito
I bought my my 2011 SWB Vito new love it. It gets excellent fuel economy between 7.3-7.8 L/100km and needs very little maintainence, Carries everything I need for my painting business. I have done approx 70,000km in the past 17 months and will buyanother one when the trade in price matches the payout figure. I had a hilux run up the back of my van and got a rental van, iLoad. I am so glad I spent the extra $5000 and bought a Merc. iLoad has worst suspension ever and guzzled fuel, 14L/100km

Could of been a great van with car quailities but let down by very poor Mercedes Service and poor built quality (Made is Spain). Metallic paint starts to biodegrade after 3 years ($2000 option) and try get that repaired through MB.
Rust on roof where sunroof location is situated.
Second gear in manual gearbox never finds its spot. MB have never been able to fix this.
Everytime the Vito got serviced at MB is came out always damaged. Large scratches on bonnet etc. Damage repaired by MB but no apology. Two damage repairs were so bad, I came to the conclussion that they must employ 5 year olds.
Sitting position and comfortable over large distances travelled
The most dishonnest service staff I have ever come across.

. Fuel consumption averages 8.3L/100kms about 800+kms out of a tank. The extra sliding door is a real time saver, I am getting tools and parts out all day and when you have 3 openings into the back of the van it can be a time saver. The A/C works well on hot days, it is actually controlled by the engine management so it maximises fuel economy. Would I go back to a Hiace? NO WAY BABY!
