Absolutely fabulous washing machine
I have had this Miele washing machine for 11 years. During this time it has and still is being used 2-3 times each day. The machine washes perfectly, does not wear out my clothes and is very quiet. I wash silk, woollens, bed linen and dog beds without any problems what-so-ever. 10 out of 10

We love our Miele Novotronic W1986 but as of a few days ago there's a clanking sound during the spin cycle. We hope the machine can be repaired. Like Jenna, we have used our machine almost every day, for nearly 20 years (can't remember the year I bought the washer). It's a fantastic machine. Wish, Miele would have continued to sell it but Americans prefer a 110V connection which does not allow for a powerful internal heater.
If our W1986 cannot be repaired what can be buy? The only choice seems to be the Little Giant. The top temperature of the Little Giant is 190F. Years ago the Little Giant's max temperature was a little over 200F. It also cost more then. Still, expensive at almost $4,000 for white and more for stainless steel.
Does anyone use the small Little Giant? Is it worth the purchase (in case the W1986 cannot be repaired?).
