Check your gearbox oil level and possibly clutch adjustment or bleed if hydraulic

Hydraulic or cable clutch?
Get under the van and take a squiz is your best bet. If it has a slave cylinder and pushrod activation, it's hydraulic.

We have a 2007 Mitsubishi Express. Having a problem where after driving and engine is very hot it seems to kangaroo jump when accelerating not sure if surging or losing power. Only happens after driving cant be replicated in garage. Starts perfectly every time, drives very well when engine is cool. Have had spark plugs replaced and wires looked at which are fine. Timing belt replaced recently. New fuel filter, had the fuel drained and cleaned. New air filter. When plugged into scanner everything reads as ok. Any ideas as to whats causing the problem? Any help is appreciated, thank you

think you may be looking for an electrical problem solenoid or regulator, try let the engine idle for ten or more minutes, then see if it jumps when you drive it, if so take it too garage and replicate it for the mechanic,

Check coils. They can open circuit on the primaries when cracked. They will only exhibit this behaviour when they get hot. A simple continuity tester is ideal for checking this but you need to check your coil primaries when it's playing up!
When the coil packs cool down electrical connectivity is restored in the primaries and they tend to check almost normal readings (when using an ohmmeter) which makes it a bit difficult for most people to diagnose because the fault, although temperature dependent, appears to be intermittent.
No use taking to an auto electrician unless they are old school. All the new generation require a self diagnostic report to tell them what's wrong, otherwise they can't fix it.
If temp is above half get a new radiator. If you allow motor to continue to overheat (if it is) it's going to take out more coil packs.

Ps. Replacing leads was not wasted money. The genuine 7mm OEM leads were renown for arcing causing misfire, usually as you were coming off the line on a green.

what bucket seats will fit my express van other than original

Tried Camry and others that had power up/down/forward/back/tilt/lumbar but they were too wide. Damn! I now get the originals double packed with foam by my upholsterer guy every 12 months or so.
Check the springs whilst you're at it. I had a fatigue crack in the frame that had to be welded once. When the seats are double packed and springs are working correctly you can feel the seat springs working on uneven road surfaces...so much better than the setup in Toyotas and Nissans with memory foam glued to a pressed metal shell.
The tip is to get them serviced whenever they start to cause discomfort or you start getting back pain. 80% of back problems are caused by where you spend most of your time sitting. Typical reco is ~$80.
Don't be suprised if after a seat reco your back problems gradually disappear - although can take up to six months for chronic back pain to completely cease caused by poor sitting posture.

Hi sometimes my 94 model sliding door wont open, found that if not on good level ground it will stick, may be worth looking at

For a quick fix, bash the outside door skin near the outside key lock with the palm of your hand. This usually frees the linkages.
If problem persists you are going to have to bite the bullet, remove the internal masonite and spray linkages with molytec multi purpose grease (or similar but not WD40 or CRC556).
I use molytec on the roller tracks and top and bottom roller bearings periodically. They glide after an application!

L10N37
L10N37

I just took 2 screws out the side and pulled the plastic thing off, easier than ripping the inside door cover completely off

If you keep the key in the barrell on the sliding door and spin it side to side youll see what parts need lubricating through the hole... I sprayed a bunch of wd40 anti friction dry lube in there whilst spinning key side to side at same time and its like new now. Sure beats bashing the door 50 times a day with your palm to free it up (Im sure any generic lubricant will work but this is just what I had on hand)

Anyone had luck with aftermarket tachometer install on the later tacho-less 5 speed manuals, 4G63 2 litre EFI

Ive tapped into the coils negative along with the lpg computer ... its fine free revving but seems to lag and bounce 2500rpm plus when actually under load/ driving

Tried a 10k resistor which didnt really help ... is there alternate point to tap into??

Hi I'm having fuel consumption problems with my 1993 star wagon auto 2L carbi.

I got 150km to a tank around town.
It seams to idle at 300-500 rpm when warm and and about 600 - 800*when cold.

When I start it up it seams to be splattering fuel out the exhaust. So it must be running rich.

Any tips for me to solve this problem.
Cheers

Nah. Get a 2.4.
16 valve OHC. Cross flow head. Electronic ignition. Multi point efi. 530 klms to a tank. Power steer. Hydraulic clutch. Doors both sides. Gets rubber in every gear. Goes like a scalded cat! Take your mates who own Lite Aces for a lap around the block and watch them hanging onto the grab rails and wetting themselves.
Probably get a straight one for 2k.

Coil.
May be going 'open circuit' on the primary when it gets hot.
Must be tested with the ohm meter when it gets hot or returns a false reading.

good morning hardball, thankyou for the feedback have done that, everything fine. is there a fuel mix/adjustment on the carby itself, everyone says no. but i can see a small screw with a spring fitted just below the larger white idle adjustment. motor running smooth as.?

Hardball

Idle circuit is the first 1/3 of throttle which is regulated by idle adjustment screw, depending on where you are in the throttle range.
At idle, mixture is totally regulated by idle circuit. This you can adjust.
As throttle proceeds from 1/3 to 2/3 throttle, fuel mixture is largely depedent on size of main jet.
That is why 'everybody' says mixture in mid range cannot be altered. It can, but not on the fly. Means disassembly of carb and trying other jet sizes.
Bear in mind there is transition from one stage to another, so as throttle progresses from 1/3 to 2/3, idle circuit plays a less inportant role in fuel delivery as main jet starts to allow fuel to be sucked through it playing a more progressive role in fuel delivery.
If you are continuing to have issues, pull the air filter. If smell of petrol goes away, guess what? You need new air filter.
Blowing with compressed air won't help if you've let them go to the stage where they are saturated with dust.
