Amazing first car
Driving is smooth, this was the baseline cj es model sedan. I brought it brand new as I wanted assurance that my next car would not break down and cost me excess money. Manual version here, fuel efficient one tank of 91 gets from Brisbane to Sydney. Capped price servicing 250$ with five years warranty and free road side assistance. * if you follow they service schedule. 50000km 3.5 years and not a single issue. Happy customer here.

My 2nd Lancer and just as impressive as the 1st one.
I have the 2.4L 2009 Lancer Aspire and it is a fantastic car. I test drove a lot of cars in this sedan price range and found most of them sluggish. I actually wanted something different as I had a Lancer previously so drove this car last. In the end though this was the best of the lot. The performance as you would expect from a 2.4L engine was fantastic as was the handling.
The interior was a big selling point to me. It had leather seats with wood grain trim on the dashboard. I've taken a look at the current 2017 model as I was interest...Read more
ed in upgrading and was shocked to see that the 2017 model was almost identical in every way inside to the 2009 model. Only the Mitsubishi Multimedia Center was upgraded. I would definitely look at buying a Mitsubishi again if they significantly changed the newer models.... but as mine is 9 years old and still has the same styling and interior as todays car I haven't upgraded yet.

Excellent value for money.
So far this car has been a pleasure to own. Amazing technology and performance for the money (especially for its time), decent quality interior and looks the part as standard - even better with a few cosmetic changes.
The dual clutch auto is technically a very good gearbox - shifts very smoothly in normal mode, sport mode holds the revs very high and makes gear changes harder and faster - it isn't a setting you'd normally drive around town in - it's specifically for going quick for a short period of time (overtaking, spirited driving down a...Read more
mountain etc). I like to drive in manual sports, it allows you to be in whatever gear you want + faster shifts. I find auto mode in hilly residential areas a pain - the car often doesn't know what gear to be in & fumbles around, but that's easily fixed by flicking across to manual mode. No big deal. Engine performance is definitely adequate for a daily driver, but be warned this car will drink gas like no tomorrow. Generally costs about $70-$80 for a full tank (98 required) and will be lucky to get 300km city driving out of a tank. To put this in perspective I filled up in the morning, drove to work and had some reasonably heavy traffic along the way (30km drive) and the car had used just under a quarter of a tank (only driving to work, not return). Overall it's a great car - just make sure you keep it regularly serviced and it shouldn't give you any big problems.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Mitsubishi Lancer
Medium range car. Interior is not great. Lots of plastic. Dashboard is huge could of been better use of that space. Passenger seat legroom is not sufficient. Capped price servicing is a relief. Handling is ok. Outlook is not bad. Overall happy with the car. A good value for money family car.

Mate, she's a ripper
I bought 2nd hand, but with very low k's. Love the car, my 3rd Mitsy and the best. Quiet, powerful, smooth ride and great handling. Only down side, is the servicing, it's mainly only checking items (check liquid levels, check brakes, check.... check... and so on), Great interior and lay out of cabin. Reliable and good on fuel

Very pleasantly surprised!
My dad was the one who convinced me to take this car for a test-drive and initially I was a bit skeptical as the car I had at the time was a 2013 Kia Sportage and I felt that by trading it in for an older car, I would be going backwards. How wrong was I! The Lancer may be 5 years older than the Kia I had, but it is a far superior car! It's so smooth and comfortable to drive and is a lot more economical. It has plenty of get up and go when I need it to also. It has quite a spacious interior and even my 6'2 husband can easily fit into both the passenger seat and the driver's seat (not that he gets to drive it very often :-D). I would highly recommend this car to anyone.

Fantastic little car!
The driving experience in this car actually feels quite sporty! Mine is a Manual transmission 2.0L Engine that's fairly powerful for what it is, the Notchy Box feels Great, but I do dislike such a soft clutch! On the highway my best economy is 6.2/100km on a long run being the best run from Warwick, QLD - The Entrance, NSW a distance over 736km on one tank! I always buy the best for my car fuel wise, no expense spared with cost so usually Naturally I Choose BP Ultimate 98 Octane in any car I drive.

have NEVER had any reliability issues with the car! Servicing has been carried out On time Everytime! and usually does about 1000km a week without fail! it is by far the best car I have ever owned, have owned it now for 4 and a half years and don't intend on changing anytime soon! What I do dislike about this car is comfort on the highway, having just returned from Sydney, I live in Maryborough QLD, I have a bad back and could really feel the bad back arcing up! I do love the ease of controls and interior of the car, basic, and simple, cruise control to Mitsubishi Link System all of which is great! The Legroom for me is good, and even a mate commented on this he's taller then I and I'm 6'3! The car has 7 Airbags, and a ANCAP of 5. I love this little car and the reliability will leave me wanting the Luxury version of something slightly higher off the ground, An ASX with leather seats, but in all honesty Mitsubishi have come a long way! Trust me I had Magnas! I said never again mitsi, but glad to say I gave them a go and saw how well they now have done! This car now has about 85,000km on it and has at least triple this left in it! way to go Mitsubishi! Id recommend this car to anyone, I have a wife and 2 kids, it stands the family test real well!Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

LOUSY CAR
I AM RE-POSTING THIS FROM ANOTHER SITE ... THIS CAR IS A DISAPPOINTMENT >>> I bought my Lancer three months back in the Mitsubishi end of year sale at Redcliffe Mitsubishi, north of Brisbane. After being given the run-around for a week over choice of colours I drove out of the showroom with a quarter tank of petrol (wow) and six months rego, this is one of the gimmicks they tell you at the last minute with the convincing statement that it's how they can give you a fantastic "sale" price. Then a couple of nights later I needed something from my...Read more
glovebox only to find no glovebox light, really?, with all the auto wipers auto lights etc they cant provide a glovebox light, what else is missing? Next day with a led from Autobarn, a fuse from Supercheap and a switch from Ford I installed my own glovebox light. Next thing I noticed was the car revving up to 1800 rpm on cold start and to keep revving after I take my foot off the accelerator during gear upshifts (it's a manual model). Then there's the problem with the blinker not turning itself off on most turns, especially left turns, but that's ok because you can't see the blinking arrow in the instrument cluster as it's frequently obscured by the worst reflections I have ever seen in any dash. When I raised these issues with the Mitsubishi service people they shrugged me off saying everything was normal and that the cold revving issue was "to warm the motor up quickly" .... After fifty years of working on my own cars I think I know how a thermostat works! Funny but I never read anything like these problems in the many reviews I read about this car but at least I knew all about the cup holders and nice dash layout, oh yeah, and another thing I didn't read in any review was the touch screen radio display whereby when you use the volume control knob, almost every time your hand accidentally touches the screen and bingo, you're listening to a different radio station! And something which I actually did read in one of the reviews is when you drive the car at freeway speed it doesn't want to stay in a straight line, tending to wander as if the driver does'nt have full control. It's not wheel alignment, it's just the way the car is set up, maybe the Nexen tyres? With all these annoying things and others like I have been unable in three months to find a comfortable driving position, but maybe that's just my non-movie star body shape. Over past years I have driven away in a new car and loved it whatever the brand, but with so many annoying things about this car I cannot say the same, additionally, although the car goes very well when you get it up to 3000 rpm, it's rather sluggish at the low rev end where you need it in city traffic conditions, lacking in low end torque. To sum up, I am disappointed with this car and have started to drive my old Falcon XR6 again. I'm certainly glad that I rejected their $300 trade in offer because I find the Falcon is still a better drive and despite it's age it has less road noise, more power, more precise handling, much more driver comfort AND brighter headlightsSimilar opinion? Brilliant car to drive! Very roomy and looks nice
Bought this car 2 weeks ago off an old lady with full service history and 100k 2008 for 8k. It is a manual with sunroof. It is a basic car but roomy and so nice to drive and powerful. Absolutely love driving this car and would buy a new one in the future! Even fits two boosters and a car seat in the back. The gearbox and engine are brilliant. Such fun to drive!

Good Reliable Car
I have owned this car since new, at the time I wasn't particularly after the Lancer but I needed to pass on my other car to one of my daughters and needed to find another runabout. It was a bog standard showroom demo and the price was too good to pass up on.
Have had no real problems with the car and have traveled about 90000k's so far, reasonable fuel consumption about 8L/100k's around the suburbs and drops down to low 6's on a trip. I like driving it and the handling is reasonable, safety is good with seven airbags. The ABS brakes are amazin...Read more

Awesome Car`
The car is easy to run, smooth and enjoyable to drive! Gives a bit of a kick when you put the foot down with the 2.4L Model.
Interior is clean and crisp just leather seats and the interface could make it nicer.
Fuel economy is excellent as you can get 500km out of a tank costing around $55

Very Good Car!
This is the second car that I have owned and I bought it brand new. I have to say that it is amazing to drive and is really reliable. The handling is second to none and the seats are extremely comfy. The servicing so far has been a breeze, especially with the capped price servicing that was included in the deal. I'm going to hold on it for quite a while as it's an awesome car! The sportiness of it really appeals to me.

really reliable
Very pretty car, very reliable, very comfy and does the job really well. All in all this is a good choice for a cheap reliable car, requires only 1 service a year (no minor or major… just the 1!) however, the bottom of the range is rather feature poor. But my biggest issue is noise, the car has a lot of road noise… which is very dispointing!

Best new car under $25K
This is the 4th Lancer I have owned, I love them. Haven't had any problems with any of them, they all run smooothly, good on fuel efficiency, low noise and comfortable to drive. If you want a good quality, reliable, brand new car under $25K, I don't think there's any better car on the market than a Mitsubishi Lancer.

Love ralliart
I love this car and I can't have enough driving it, my partner has the same car and we enjoy going for car trips with our kids and do some crazy driving, Drove over 10 hours from Melbourne to Sydney several times, has enough space for a family and it's great for who simply loves cars and performance driving.

Best car I've owned
Purchased new in 2012 & 108,000 km later I have not had a single problem. New set of tyres at 76,000 km & still on the original battery. This model has the 10 year 160,000 km drive train warranty. Features like leather upholstery, electric drivers seat, heated seats, reversing camera & sensors, bluetooth audio & mobile phone connectivity, body mouldings & alloy wheels set the Platinum edition apart. Comfort and CVT transmission are great. I'll never have another standard multi speed auto after continuously variable transmission. Economy is bett...Read more
er than a manual. It is always at the best rpm to deliver the best economy & power is instant with no gear changes. There is plenty of room and the floor is flat when the rear seats are folded down. The boot floor panel drops down for taller items when the seats are all occupied. Dashboard is clean & uncluttered, seats are comfortable & legroom good & plenty of storage pockets. Power & handling are good thanks to Mitsubishis rally experience. Best car I've ever ownedSimilar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Aspire 2009 - Excellent Car - Amazing Sound System for Music Lovers
Has always been 100% reliable, no faults at all for 160,000 km, and good to drive. Has a fantastic audio system (Rockford Fosgate), that in my current car search (<$50k) has only been approached by an Audi A3 Bang & Olufsen, but the Lancer has more adjustment options and sounds better in IMHO.
I'm not a speedy driver, but I've never been embarrassed at the traffic lights when I've felt like pushing it. However there is a road noise issue on rough surfaces, perhaps exacerbated by the 18" wheels. The ride is also stiffer compared to recent test ...Read more

great car
I love my Mistusbishi lancer and was hoping to update it however the lack of the hatchback option on the latest model has made me hold off a purchasing new. Hopefully the next years model will include this.
It has been a great family car for the five of us and we haven't had any mechanical issues since our purchase in 2010

I own a 2017 CJ 2.0 ltr with the S4 Mivec CVT transmission and the factory warranty expires in December 2022. My enquiry is regarding a descending whine experienced on rolldown from the transmission whilst stopping as the trans changes from the highest to lowest ratios. The descending pitched whine is evident whatever the temperature of the engine/ transmision is, hot or cold.
Is this a normal noise with every CVT or something to get rectified. I need all the information available before taking it into the dealer, cheers.
CVT transmision.

Hi.
With my lancer is same model as yours and I do not have a whine from the gear box when the engine is changing down.
I would advise you to get your local dealer to give it a test drive. I should think if you just called into there service centre and explained your problem they would do a test drive while you wait. Best time to go to your dealer would be after lunch which is a quiet time for there reception.
Good luck
Andrew
