PAINT WORK
After only 5 years my 2014 Triton was red but has faded to a pink. Really dissapointed. $30,000 ute and a cheap paint job. Do not buy red. Does anybody have the best way to renew a 5 year paint job without cutting and polishing to much.
I have a 2000 Mitsubishi sedan darker red it has not faded. They use a paint that has previously been used on a 1999 Model which faded. Very dissappointed.

Regretful buy
I use my Ute for work and from when I first brought it I thought it was very sluggish taking off in it. I have actually found it a little dangerous at times pulling out into a main road as it can be so sluggish at take off. At first I thought it was just a wearing in thing that may come right over time. 0ther issues I have happen is the engine light would sometimes come on for no reason and it would loose power but as soon as I switched off the engine the turbo would reset itself, but the engine light would remain on until I took it back to the...Read more
dealership and many months later it would recur. At around 45 000 klm the 4wd gearbox had a major fault and the dealer replaced it at no cost. Now around 75 000 klms there is alot of rust spot's appearing on some of the door's and other exterior panels. I have real difficulty doing hill starts when my trailer is on the ute and have to in most cases put it in 4wd and use 1st low gear. The 2.5 litre diesel engine just does not seem to have enough grunt to pull a 2 ton payload even though they state that it can pull 3 ton. I don't think I would ever choose a Triton Ute ever again.

Reliable but has had issues.
1st off there is a government website to check if you need to have the airbag replaced, input your vin number. Around 4 months after purchase the Diff failed, had it rectified fairly quickly havent had a problem since, I also had an issue where the drain plug from the power steering fell out losing the oil, this was an easy fix, the issue is well known the diesel consumption has been pretty good getting around 10lt/100km, I also had an issue where it was coming on dangerous in turbo lag, I had some hardware fix done when I put it in for a service. Its been good and reliable apart from the issues mentioned, now done 202,000km, I use the car every day and its serviced at the manufacturers intervals.

2012 mn triton auto duel cab.
Poor fuel economy. Slow acceleration which is rather scary trying to get out into traffic. Which eventually blew a head gasket at 190k resulting in a complete engine replacement. I should have done my research before buying this. I am not a fan of the triton

Warranty claim unable to rectify acceleration issues
Hi to whom this may concern,
I have had alot of dealings with Kings Mitsubishi Breakwater Geelong. In this said my original warranty claim was for the timing belt pulley, it collapsed at 95,000km and the car has had nothing but trouble since.
Sadly for me I've had 7 warranty visits with the same problem. 5th time round it was 2 faulty injectors resolving the issue, after picking up the vehicle 4 times prior, again told it was in great working order and it still had the same acceleration problems from when I took it back the second time.

Engine issues
Had overheating issues at 68,000km and a new engine was installed under warranty. Great. Until the same issue appeared again at 120,000. Not happy Jan.
If it is a major issue In these engines, mitsubishi should try recalling the engines in question before people are left these faults and no warranty.

liked it so much i got an other one.
18 months ago I bought my first triton a 2013 MN GLX at first I was worried about the lag between the peddle and the engine for starting off the mark, I got the Auto gearbox, and yes the lag is a bugger but once your moving the power comes on pretty strong and it accelerates away pretty well. yesterday I just sign on the dotted line for a 2018 GLX+ auto. still best bang for your buck towing while not 3.5 ton is still better than a ranger due to the GVM being better a ranger at full tow weight can only have 250kgs in the ute that's people and...Read more
accessories where as the triton at full tow weight can have 850kgs so tow weight wins fuel eco is good but yes it has a small fuel tank at 75L but at 7.6L/100k's that's still good with the tuning options available now power issues and minor things can be sorted. im sure the new ute will be as good as the 2013 im trading, first drive left the 2013 wanting, as there is more power and almost no lag. plus value for money leaves the rest for dead.Similar opinion? Love that car
We have owned this car for 12 mths we have the top of the range GLXR Turbo Diesel so good on petrol and comfortable for the whole family. I love the canopy it is good for camping. There is a power window into the back area for our dog which the kids love. Great off road and for mum life.

Humble old reliable beast
What a beast, had it for 3 years and not a problem. She can take a beating off road and come back for more. Best value for money that I have ever experienced. Tough old farm Ute, Has a 3 ton tray and is still going strong. Had no problems so far and will be using them in the future.

Wouldn't get another triton
Iv had my triton for 5 years now and it gets me to work and out camping on the weekends.
Iv never broken down bar the battery so reliability has been good.
It's never been nice to drive
The manual transmission hasent been sorted out correctly with center bearing tail shaft issues. Iv attempted to gmfix this with shined leafs and your spacers. The best fix is a full custom tail shaft come on Mitsubishi.
The first time out bush I dented the front bash plate and that pushed against the front diff lock actuator. SOFT as so the original pl...Read more
ates have to go. I upgraded to plate steel but the mounting holes and brackets are so week I will be welding new ones to the chassis. The vehicle does not come with any front recovery points so drilling holes to acomadate aftermarket items is the only safe method. The 2.5l engine has lost all the get up and go from the 3.2l no model and the new 2.2 mq engine is worse again they specs look good on paper but in the real world loaded up or towing there gutles and the already bad fuel economy hits new heights. Don't believe the storys expect up to 14l/ km and that's not towing.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Up untill 2 weeks ago i was very happy with our triton MN 2010 dual cab,
Just turned over 132000 km, and with out any warnings what so ever the motor has seized, checked oil etc all good.
Car was taken to local mechanic, took timing cover off and checked belts etc all good, put on hoist and removed sump plug no oil ran out oil in sump is like TAR and wont run out.Our vehicle is serviced by our local garage every 10000 km give or take may be 100km either side. Has any one else had this problem as we have had to replace the engine and should be back on the road this week big $$$$$$$ NOT HAPPY

Going from a small car to this l would not look back so easy to drive!! The back is abit squishy but okay for the kids! We have a diesel for some reason we are not getting the best milage out of it so we will look into that! The car is very smooth to drive.

Best Vehicle I have ever owned
At approximately 8 years of ownership this has proven to be the most reliable vehicle I have owned. It takes me from meetings in the city to serious 4 wheel driving, it is extremely fuel efficient and generally well built. I would not hesitate in trading up to a new model. For value for money nothing comes close. The only part I have had to replace was a radiator just recently which had a small crack in it possibly due to the pounding I give it off road.

A good work horse
heavy duty suspension means hard ride, lots of body roll, serviced regularly, rear tub version with hard lid have to remove for bulky items, had EMS fault fixed by a recall by mitsubishi after local guy couldn't fix, bought at 15k done 150k now just traded in on a Suv but if i wanted another twin cab 4 x 4 would buy another Triton!

Bad bad and bad
Has had oil leak at turbo since 15000ks .mitsubishi dealership and mmal head office claim it is a normal oil leak wth.so at 50000ks now still leaking and failed rwc but still can't be fixed .air box separated was re attached with cable ties and glue, servicing is a joke every second service is a huge job as valve clearances need adjustment and inlet manifold has to come off.do yourself a favor and spend the money on a hilux tritons are cheap rubbish and warranty is rubbish too.i will never buy anything mitsubishi again .

sick as
I brought this car last year, the 2016 MQ, I find it to be amazing, I've had no issues. I think its good on diesel. Back seats could have a little more leg room, I do dislike that the head unit is a small screen and has no built in GPS. Performance is amazing. I love it.

Best value 4x4 ute in Australia
Have owned this ute since buying new in early 2013. Has never let me down. A reliable, powerful and surprisingly comfortable car for the price - compared to it's competitors.
The days of your average 4x4 ute being about as agricultural as your gramp's tractor are over. The Triton is composed and quiet on the highways and suburban streets. yet is also highly capable off-road from stock and is supported by all the big after-market off-road manufacturers.
Rear departure angle can be an issue off-road with the extra-long tub - even more so if...Read more
you have a tow bar fitted, but nothing that can't be mitigated by awareness. All up, it's a great car built on a tried and tested formula. It mightn't have all the bling you'd find in some of it's competitors, but does it have to? After all, the Triton is a workhorse and is equipped as such. I stand by the fact the Triton is the best-value 4x4 ute in Australia.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!
