Everything went smoothly From day 1 when a Modern representative called to our home followed by an official measurement and then installation. We particularly like the way we can close the shutters for privacy whilst leaving the top part open for fresh air. Sandie was a great communicator and Mark installed perfectly. Well done Modern.
Had my roof done paid $9000 I have a leak now I have tried to find modern to be told I can only speak to a switchboard this is not a very good practice or a way to run a business I would not recommend use and I would not do any business with use again and this is the second thing I’ve had done three is you have gone backwards
We are really happy with our new Modern Shutters. They look great and feel great. Special shout out to our installer who was excellent!
The sales were a bit pushy to start with and after reading reviews (after we'd signed) we were a bit concerned but now so happy to report it was smooth process! Modern was good at communicating and very professional. They did us a huge favour by holding off on install to allow other trades to finish.

I December 2020 I put a quote request into Modern Group for a roof restoration and their response time was fantastic and had a sale person (Greg) out within a couple of days to advise us of our options. Greg inspected our roof and gutters and informed us we needed a tile restoration and a full gutter replacement. Greg gave us a quote and time frame for the job to start at the end of January. Read mores it worked with our other projects. We received the contract and was informed that James (Production Manager) would be handling our restoration. I took nearly a week for an amendment to the contract to be sent to us as the colour of the down pipes was incorrect but once that was sorted we thought everything was on track as we hadn't heard anything from James. The gutter installer came out to do the check measure and we discussed the barge board and if Modern Group offered a painting service and he told me on the rare occasion Modern had asked him to paint the barge at the same time but it is costly. He also informed me about a product called a barge cap that could be installed when the gutter is installed. I asked him for a quote. I also questioned the vent pipe supports and if they were included as they fix to the gutter and one of them as bent. He informed me they aren’t part of a restoration so I asked for a quote as there is no point haven’t this nice newly restored roof and bent supports. He told me he would inform James about the 2 items and James would be I touch with a quote. I never heard from James regarding each matter. We the installer turned up to start I had questioned him and he told me that he reported it to James. The end of January came and went and we assumed they were just running a little bit behind and would be in touch once they were ready to start the restoration. At this point in time I was investigating the option of putting Solar panels on the roof and some of the installers advised it would be best to get the Solar panel mounts installed prior to the restoration so that the Solar installers don't need to pull the tiles up to mount the panels. It all seemed logical to me and once we had settled on a Solar company I tried to contact James at the end of the first week in February to confirm that my intention to have the mounts installed and a time frame for the roof restoration so I could arrange with the Solar Company. James dodged my numerous calls for 2 weeks and when he finally called me back he gave me an excuse with he contradicted himself in the very next sentence. At that point I was informed that our gutters had been scheduled in to start on the 01st of March. I had arranged with work to head in Late on that day so that I would meet the installer and make sure that he had access to everything he needed to do the job. By 9:30am he hadn't turned up and I had to leave for work as I was running late. On the way to work I tried to contact James to find out what was going on and once James finally called me back he informed me they were running behind schedule and the installer would be out later in the week to start the job. After more delays with the job and very poor communication from James the installer finally turned up on the Tuesday 09th March. The installer contacted me the day prior to confirm that he would be onsite the next morning to commence. Very happy with initial product and installation but after sales leaves a lot to be desired. First time problem with one of 7 window shutters installed we got charged a couple of hundred dollars for service call but shutter still extremely clunky. Bangs and clutters all the way up and down. A second window shutter now has just stopped and multiple calls to get it serviced remain unanswered.

We signed a contract late 2020. Wonderful communication until we signed the contract and then... complete silence. We rang nearly 30 times over two months, told every time someone would call us back. 2 appointments made to measure and then no-one showed up. Ended up cancelling the contract, which took weeks to get confirmation and absolutely no apology. Just "Ok, we have cancelled it". We than sat through the 3 month summer rain season with a leaking roof while we found someone else, after Modern had said it would be done in November 2020. Absolutely appalling customer service and zero after-sales service.

After 12 phone calls over 10 days, I waited for someone to ring me back to confirm the contractor would/could come out and look at the roller shutter, nothing, always excuses from the receptionist, assured me my messages were passed on...., had the shutter fixed from another company and will never deal with Modern again.

We already had a Quote from Franklyn's however decided to organise a Measure & Quote with Modern Group (Shutters). From our meeting with Tiah through to the install, they were brilliant.
We found Tiah to be very knowledgeable & in our opinion, she went that extra mile. Despite her knowledge & enthusiasm, we initially decided to go with Franklyn's (we didn't mention this to her). She surprised us by reaching a competitive deal & organising an early install (end Jan / Feb versus Apr with Franklyn's). It's the little things that matter.

Read mored the measure & install & was awesome (we had a connection being kiwis). We found him to be punctual, fast & had a very professional manner. The install was completed with such a high standard of workmanship with no mess. If I were to fault Modern Group, it was the fact that I contacted the Call Centre on a couple of occasions for an accurate install date. Overall I would highly recommend these guys. Are we happy? Yes 100%. We love our house & are very proudIt’s worth for money. Very happy with the work. Installation was nice and tidy. Now I can enjoy outdoor without worrying about weather. Friendly staff throughout the process

My outdoor blind on my carport is amazing and provides shade to my car and the back of my house. Love the remote to open and close my blind. It is perfect!

I wanted a quote for a roof restoration. The salesman came on a Sunday, and spent about 1 hour and a half on site, to eventually give me a quote. I then had to sign a contract on the spot (which I thought as rather high pressure sales pitch, as I had only asked for a quote). I checked before I signed, and was told I had a 10 day cooling off period. I signed, thinking that I still had 10 days to cool off. Read moreessured, and found out that their quote was twice that of other companies. I called them, to say I wanted to cancel this quote/order and was told someone would call me back. No one did, so I emailed them, telling them that I did not want to proceed with he quote. Again, no reply. I eventually got through, and was told that "someone would call me back". I said, why does someone need to call me back, I just want to cancel the quote. I was concerned that the 10 days would expire, before they received my notification of cancellation. I had to be a but pushy with my cancellation, as they could not just accept over the phone that I was not interested. Overall, I have found them to be VERY pushy, hard to contact the right person, and their quote was not cheap at all. Other two companies I contacted for quote: 1 was able to quote me by googling the image of my roof, and the other spend 10 minutes on site, checked out the roof and took some measurement. They both sent me the quote a few days later, with no pressure at all, and no need to sign on the spot. So disappointed with this high pressure sales pitch and difficulty in contacting them afterwards, when all I wanted was a quote, which should not take more than 10-15 minutes in my opinion.Good Afternoon,

I can't really fault the entire process, from initial visit, follow up, communications and install. I had several changes during the process and caused a couple of hiccups that were all managed perfectly by our friendly and helpful installer. Would have no problem recommending to friends.

22/01/20 - I decided to go ahead with Modern for a complete roof restoration 3 months ago.
I paid the deposit and I'm still waiting for them to even start.
This job needed to be completed promptly as I have a leaking roof that requires immediate attention.
I have called Modern in excess of 10 times, what follows are insincere apologies from what I assume is the receptionist and then "I'll get your details and get someone to call you back" WHICH NEVER HAPPENS!!!
21/01/21 - It has now been 4 months and still nothing. I have now contacted consumer affairs regarding this matter.
Don't put yourself through the headache I'm going through.

Employed Modern Group to replace our gutters 18 months ago since then we have had leaking gutters everytime we get heavy rain our outdoor furniture gets saturated, constantly reported to Modern Group to fix this issue they do send out people to check but they advised they can’t fix it why?? Isn’t that their job, paid good money for the end result to have to put up with sub standard work.

I called Modern for a quote on a small section of damaged roof and full restoration.
After telling the admin staff that my husband would not be present for the inspection, the man arrived to carry out the quote.
Following a few minutes of chit chat, he asked if my husband would be here soon. I told him that no, he was not attending and that there was no need for him to be here, that I could confidently relay any information and that if he had questions, my husband was capable of calling Modern himself.

He told me that it wasn't a female problem (ummmm, this comment made it a female problem) but that it was better to have everyone on the same page. Mate, if I tell you my husband and I are capable or exchanging information and following up accordingly, don't question me. Do the job you were engaged to carry out.We took time in considering the best options for our roof restoration, and having acquired 4 seperate quotes, Modern’s rep Tony invested the most time describing the actual product, delivery and ongoing care. To us, the choice had become even easier by having viewed the quality of roof restoration my parents had done by Modern in 2002, and its still looking like new! Our roof looks great and very happy with the quality of work and professionalism of the team.

The man who came to quote took 2 3/4 hours giving me a high pressure sales pitch. He would not give me a written quote until I agreed to accept it and pay 10% on the spot. This is unethical. After I said I would have to talk to my son he tried to insist on speaking to him: when I said he's out of Brisbane he tried to arrange a time for a video call. He tried to invalidate me because I am a woman. He said that he could explain the situation with the roof better. I was, of course, insulted.

Sales guy said Modern Group could do the job, so I placed an order for plantaion shutters, however the Modern Group installer said the work could not be done and advised me to cancel... Turns out they charged me $100 for nothing, took out $100 for (apparent) costs they incurred even though they were the ones who pulled the pin on the job. Be wary... they skim money off innocent people.

Modern Group attended our residence in the middle of 2020 to restore the roof of our Villa and we couldn't be happier. Works undertaken by all three teams was exceptional. Tony (our Sales Rep) had a friendly and happy disposition and was a joy to be around and his professionalism and product knowledge were second to none. All tradesmen were punctual, friendly and professional. I would have no hesitation in recommending Modern Group for all your roof restoration needs!

Modern installed our solar hot water several years ago and a local plumber was inspecting as he was installing whirly bird and called me onto the roof because he spotted where the hole where the pipe went through roof was never sealed and has been leaking into the ceiling ever since modern group so far has failed to return any phonecalls wish I could give less than 1 star

We made a phone call to Modern Group and asked about their Plantation Shutters. They sent someone out to our place to show us their product and within a couple of days someone came to our home and did all the measuring. We had our Plantation Shutters installed within weeks. The service was great and the Shutters are wonderful.. They are so easy to keep clean and look awesome. We absolutely love them.

I discovered Modern from a letter box drop. The sassy sales lady arrived an hour late for the appointment full of enthusiasm however she did take the time to explain and provide knowledgeable service. The next step another measure up for perfection, this person was equally knowledgeable and delightful to deal with. I did wait a few months for the blinds to be made. The installation was done all in the same morning with the trades man vacuuming up and leaving my home mess free. I love the look and feel of my home It is picture perfect!
Highly recommend Modern! I now want the bedrooms done...

After all this i finally get a date for the check measure and they don't show up. I spend the day trying to call them, their reception service may as well be a recording saying we will call you back (1 in 6 of my calls actually gets a call back). Not sure on the product since i gave up almost 10 weeks after paying my deposit. The time i wasted on this has me quite annoyed...
