Mortein Control Bombs (page 3 of 4)
Very unhappy with Mortein Bombs
Recently purchased a 3 pack of Mortein Insect Bombs hoping to control the summer insect invasion of our house. What a waste of money, time and effort. The spider that was in the corner when I set the bomb off was still happily going about his business a week later, the mossie that was waiting for its turn at my blood is still sitting on the wall not disturbed at all, and the noisy Indian cricket is happy under the sofa. I feel like a fool for using this product and will make sure not to use it again.
Terrible product, deceiving and Mortein won't refund money
I purchased on impression it provides cover for a few months but cockroaches were back within a few days and they won't refund money stating it is only long lasting on fleas, it's only stated on back in small writing, so feels deceiving.
Great product, but misleading packaging
I agree with Bug Deathbringer. Looking at the Coles brand and this product side by side and the ingredients and instructions are identical word for word, clearly the same product repackaged. 5x Coles brand cost $13.25, this product (3x cans) $15.50. Save yourself some money and grab the Coles brand product, don't waste your money paying for some fancy packaging.
Also, it's clear by a few of the reviews that the packaging is misleading customers into thinking it provides 3 months protection again insects, although it clearly states on the back ...
Excellent product.
Have been using this for many years. I only use it when I'm going away on holidays because its more effective when the house stayed close up for more than 5 days or more. No more insects for 5 months.

Moreton contro bombs
They do not work cockroaches came back in a day with a vengeance Do Not Waste Your Money terrible product Mortein I want my money back How can you sell a product that does not work
Works
This product applied permethrin/fenoxycarb to affected areas of my home. This naturally killed lots of bugs in those areas. Occasionally the nozzles fail to engage (dud nozzles), which is highly annoying. The mass-produced plastic nozzle should be slightly redesigned. You need to consider the circumstances of your site. If you're in a badly infested apartment or office building, spot killing a bunch of roaches in your little area isn't going to do much. In such cases you would be better off with some form of roach bait. And some reviewers clear...
Read morely don't understand what the "up to 3 months' protection" applies to (flea infestations). To recap, a reasonably cheap and effective permethrin/fenoxycarb delivery device that occasionally suffers from a dud nozzle (hint: the much-cheaper Coles version is just a rebranding of this product, so save a little money and grab a bunch of the Coles ones).- 4 reviews

Definitely works
I tried these firstly in my classroom. I was finding too many spiders and they kept scaring the kiddies... once i used the bomb didn't find another for about 7 months!
Used it in my bedroom recently. When i do come across a spider or bug... it's dead. Doesn't seem to repel them. But certainly kills them if they hang around.

Does Not Repel, But Kills Whats Already There
This product will kill what is already in the area being treated, if you vacuum like two days afterwards you can find the dead insects, BUT it does not give 3 months protection as advertised on the packaging. It does not even give you at least a week protection! I used the product on Friday, vacuumed up a few dead insects on Sunday, and on Tuesday two insects crawled through the door again, without even dying or having spasms or reactions or anything. Probably a good product for houses with very very minimal issues (in that case you don't even need this product anyway!) but if you have an ongoing issue better to call a professional in instead. Sorry can't recommend this product at all.

Worst Product
This does not work as claimed in its package. It is just waste of money. Don't buy it just try other stuff. I used all in one small room but still the result is not convincing at all. This product is not cheap, how could mortein do this to its customers, sell rubbish!!!
It does not deserve one star also.

3 Cans Didn't Work
TERRIBLE!! Just didn't work in a tiny office kitchen with small cockies. We used all 3 bombs over the cause of a week. I can't believe they can get away with selling a product that does not work!! Resorted to gell which was a tad more effective but still only worked a bit more effectively than the bombs. Now trying strips

At least one fails to spray, every time
The white trigger cap fails on at least one of twelve every time. Mortein don't care when contacted. They do not read their own instructions for coverage." Inconvenient?, just use surface spray on the missing room"

Five star for the pump it works
DIY can be fun and cheap, there is also a sense of pride and achievement if your see that it works. Now for this product the pump works. Like other handheld spray-basic principle it needs air to breath and push the chemical. So if you put the cap with the spray gorilla tight, not even superman can make it work to prime the sprayer. Loosen the cap a bit, just enough air to come in the container, still not working try putting the container higher than the sprayer and start priming. It will work 100%. Then if you think it still doesn't work return...
Read more it as per refund policy or buy a proper sprayer at warehouse stores or cheaper at kmart and big w, transfer it and boom you be spraying in no time. You dont need to be super intelligent to work things out. Just need a lateral thinking. I think most of the DIY products may require lateral thinking aside from the instructions given. For those people stating that their sprayer don't work have you called Mortein about it? Maybe they can give you a hint. Sometimes I feel sorry seeing reviews or comments from customers for their frustration about a product not working. I am tempted to write a complain to ACCC to advice all DIY products to put warning in their products. Like ---- "warning this product may require lateral thinking to work" or "this products may cause frustration if lateral think was not use" or "Warning this product is for use by professional lateral thinking". Step back, breath in then try work it out, Dont throw it, punch it and breath out with your frustration.Find out how Mortein Control Bombs compares to other Pest Control Products

Kills cockroaches
We were moving into a house and noticed some cockroaches. We bombed it before we moved in and were very happy with the results! We found 26 dead cockroaches the next day! We still had pest control to spray the roofs once we were in to provent them coming back. This product only kills cockroaches it doesn't provent future ones or kill any living in the roof.
recommended by independent professional
I asked an independent professional what he thought about control bombs - his reply was
" They kill the cockroaches that are there well, but do not have a long active lifespan for any
that come back in the future " I used them in my kitchen and found the cockroach smell
in the cupboards has disappeared. Best thing I have tried so far.
This control bomb does not kill anything
I have used this product in the past many times now, and finally decided to write a review. Simply put, it doesn't work, it does not kill anything. All it does is make insects come out of the hiding spots and into my house! My neighbours said that they had an increase in cockroaches at their place in the last couple of days, coinciding with the use of the mortein bombs on my side!! Check the Seinfeld episode "The doodle" for Kramer's comment on pest control. I feel the same way....
Complete waste of mony
I have let of 2 x 3 packs of bombs which according to the pack should be more than enough for my small apartment. If anything we have more bugs now. I followed all the guideline on the can but very poor outcome. Please save your money theses do not work!!!!
Nothing
Everything, does not work at all.
Worthless piece of rubbish product
Worthless piece of rubbish product. It does nothing but waste of money. It was unable to kill even a single cockroaches on direct hit. How can such a product even be sold in Australia? I always thought products in AUstralia need to have at least some minimum level of quality. This one has nothing
It does nothing but waste of money. It was unable to kill even a single cockroaches on direct hit.

Works great for spiders
I use this product approx every six months. I do not get any insects or spiders in my house.
I know it is wearing off when I see a bug which is around the 6 month mark.
Turn the cans on and leave the house for a few hours. Come home give the floors and bench tops a clean, good to go!
Easy and cheap
It worked for me!
I had a problem with finding baby cochroaches as well as spiders, and fleas. I have not seen a single one in the house since i used the product 3 weeks ago. Not sure why i haven't had the same problem as others who used it for roaches but mine seemed to have died, even found a few dead on the floor after setting the bomb off.
Fast, cheap and it worked. No more bugs in the house which i really like.
None.

Used on Spiders
We live in NSW and we had an infestation of baby White Tail spiders in the Summer. Every couple of days we would find a few along the edges of the ceiling in our house. After 2 months of it the last White Tail I seen was the biggest White Tail ever - the abdomen was at least 2 or more cm long and I freaked out!
When I sprayed it, it went up behind the alarm motion sensor and thats when I assumed they must be living in the roof! I bought the three pack of bombs and placed all three spaced out inside the roof.
BAM! Gone, no more White Tails...

Another Mortein product that doesn't work
Terrible. Bought 9 of these for our 4 bedroom house. We have seen German and American cockroaches and wanted to get rid of them before a full infestation set in. First we tried the do it yourself professional pack. It was useless. Silly me wet and bought these should have known better than to buy Mortein again after that but thought I would try these. Set all these off and thought I would see some dead cockroaches over the next few days. But instead the infestation seemed to get significantly worse they seem to love the stuff it's like an aphrodisiac for them. Way more activity it's been 2 weeks and the infestation is worse than ever. Don't buy them Mortein are rip off merchants.

Good for a light infestation 'if' used wisely!
Rather than follow can instructions I took my own approach & it's paid off! To begin I emptied & cleared my estimated affected area in the kitchen. Wearing safety goggles, mouth & nose mask I shake can well then semi hold button down on can without locking it aiming the stream directly into all the cracks & crannies inside & under cupboard fittings. Once you have filled all the cracks then you run a border of spray around all edges of your kitchen floor so if the roaches run into the open to escape they eventually come to a borderline of more s...
Read morepray. Once I've done this I place the can down on the floor and let the rest do its thing. It may be more than half empty when you go to put it down but it's way more effective than just putting it on newspaper and running out of the house! My method killed the nest on one can - I got 30-40 dead & struggling on the clean up & not one roach spotted in the 3 days since. And bonus 2 cans still up my sleeve! P.S I had a small German cockroach infestation. No American or Australian roaches. Cheap, effective when used my way.- 16 reviews

Suits the price
I bought this from coles & we used 4 bombs for our unit. It seemed to have killed roaches and other insects but it just doesn't last long. Insects were back in a month. Good if you want to DIY on a budget because they were very cheap and sometimes on special at coles.
It worked
Didn't last long as expected
Cockroaches have multiplied since using this!
The worst product I have ever used! I don't write reviews but feel I need to warn people that this is such a waste of money and a hassle to use. I left the house for the bomb to work and come home to find the cockroaches had moved in, in numbers. You would be better off killing them yourself.
Hassle to use, doesn't work, expensive
