Best ute I've owned
Purchased the 2018 D23 last year, I previously owned a Navara 4x4 D22 that I purchased new in 2010
The D23 Navara is miles ahead of the D22, Comfort, safety, performance and fuel economy.
Love it

Really nice to drive
Bought new, 2018 ST model. Now at 43000km. Haven't missed a beat so far.
Taking this on soft sand beach, the torque it produces is astonishing. Auto gearbox keeps revs well below 1500rpm ploughing through the sand. The ride comfort is the best I have felt in any ute so far. Service intervals every 24000km. Works out cheaper to service than my wife's Honda Jazz!

Nissan could do better
50 kms . Rust on chassie welds . Nissan says this is acceptable. Thats their view, i have my view and this is not acceptable.
200kms - diff whining between 90-100 km p/h . Lets see what nissan dose about this.
1000kms, major oil leak out of front timing cover . Major job to repair. Is being repaired under warranty. Not happy having half of my front end removed to repair. Poor for a new car.
Nissans new vehicle letter states" we care".
Not with my dealer. They are full of crap!
This car has done 1300kms. Poor quality.
I am a long term nissan owner. Pintara in 87 . 3 x maximas. A32, j31, j32 . 2 x patrols gq and gu. First navara. Not happy.
Purchased in July 2021 for A$47,000.00.

Workhorse
Used in North-Midlands WA as an agronomy vehicle, commuter, boat launching and getting thrashed on gravel day-to-day. Everything holds up great even towing a 4 Tonne boat to the ramp, or towing a large trailer carting sheep. Has plenty of power to overtake on highways, just drop down a gear and let the twin turbo's do the rest. Has clocked over 200,00 k's on mainly gravel roads doing 120km/h or on farms on rough paddocks.
Very comfortable for trips to Perth (3 Hrs) and has all the fruit you would expect in a modern vehicle.
Will be buying again.
Purchased in July 2021 for A$55,000.00.

Not a problem
I use this car everyday for work and use it for camping. I have 85k on the clock and it hasn't skipped a beat, I get around 850 per tank and I'm running 32" Ko2's. Really enjoy driving it and highly rate it.
Purchased in October 2021 for A$43,500.00.

Great ute
Ute is used for Commuting, family transport, sports, off-roading, etc.
Ute is used every day.
Two issues with this ute is its too long and doesn't fit in standard car parks and Nissan didn't add the digital radio.
Purchased in February 2021 at Nissan Dealers for A$45,000.00.

Great dual cab at a great price!
I've put 9000 k's on the clock in about 6 weeks including 1200k trip in one go. Found it was comfortable enough to not need a break from it. No issues what so ever! Not sure what road noise everyone is complaining about, no better or worse than my last 2 lease vehicles (Captiva and a D40). Only negatives are lack of in car storage and the advertised fuel usage is not right. Average 9 L/100
Purchased in May 2021 for A$43,390.00.

Hasn't missed a beat
Had our 2015 NP300 ST for 3 and a half years now and around 60,000K. Used as the daily commute vehicle, maybe 10 trips towing our pop top caravan (including a recent 3,000K trip), and multiple trips helping the kids move house, tip runs etc.
We had one issue right back at the start with an intercooler hose that wasn't clamped tight enough and blew off - an issue with predelivery at the wharf that was happening with the early deliveries. Other than that we have not had a single issue and very happy with the vehicle. We probably haven't had more that about 200kg load in the back - I understand big loads with the early models can be an issue with the suspension, but we havent seen any..
Purchased in October 2021.

100,000km has been a great ute minus
Bought my ST 4x4 back in 2015 has been a great ute minus one occasion with the lh rear axel seal being deformed and weeping at 20,000km. Got this fixed under warranty however the dealership I dealt with were incredibly painful.
Just clocked up 100,000km now and the car has had no issues since. Currently has 2 inch lift with 32 inch tyres, bullbar and canopy with drawer system roof racks etc. and get 700 to 750km out of about 65 liters, not dreadful given the vehicles size and modifications.
Purchased in November 2021.

3 oil leaks at the same time
been over two years since last review, I had 3 oil leaks at the same time, noticed when during heatwave it smelt like my car was going to catch fire, booked it into Nissan, confirmed turbo intake pipe leak, transfer case leak, and suspected leak of timing chain cover gasket (3-4 day job), if looking from the front of the engine bay, that was located say, 1 O'clock from the Fan pulley, right where two gaskets meet. 3 months, 4 dealer visits, finally got the approval for warranty to repair.
Vehicle only had 37,000 klms on it when it went in fo...Read more

Great 4x4 ute with all the luxuries
Used for every day road use and on the farm. I cant fault my 2018 nissan 4x4 np300 navara.
Its just about to hit 5000kms and so far its handeled everyrhing in its stride, from citt stop start traffic, it averages 8ltrs to the 100, on the open country roads the best ive had it 6ltrs to the 100.
Ive jad the back loaded with literally a ton of weight as well as towing a ton and you dont even feel the difference.
The twin turbos help with the pull and once through second gear its breezes.
It can seem a little noisy when cauising through firs...Read more

Great car
Very happy with our decision to purchase the NP300. Great value and service from Ferntree Gully Nissan. My only complaint is that the car does not have iso fix points for car seats, but as long as you don’t mind the old school method of securing them then they fit perfectly. Love my Nav

2016 dual cab flat deck Ute, quite possibly the worst vehicle I’ve ever driven, the vibration at low speed (30ks) plus nearly makes the steering wheel jump out your hands, once up to highway speeds the Ute feels like a hippo in the ballet any undulating road will throw the Nissan around. The rear shock on drivers side has snapped 3 times in a year, the paint is so thin my applied that typical wear areas are bare metal, even plastic trim inside is lose and worn, auto performance is ok when finally moving but hesitation for accelerating is danger...Read more
ous. Recently took off-road through shallow river next morning Ute was in recovery mode, no power I’ve since read that the auto gearbox is terrible for water crossings. In summary if you want a real Ute get a Mitsubishi.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Vibration issue and Oil leak
I have the dreaded Nissan vibration. they changed the wheelset but has not removed the vibration. Feels like a CV joint issue. Also have the intercooler oil leak. I asked dealer how this is still happening to cars are three years of production. He said he is actually seeing more now. Nissan needs their head read, as this is a crazy way to kill their reputation.
Now had the vehicle with a second dealer, as Metro Nissan shutdown, who has replaced the tailshaft. Vibration problem not fixed and it only took a month. I will be escalating this direct...Read more

66,000kms of issueless driving.
After traveling over 65,000kmover a 2 and 1/2 year period, i find it hard to read all these negative reviews when i have had no issues to date, although i can see that all the car manufacturers have produced a lemon or two after reviewing other makes on this site.
The NP300 is the most car like ute that i test drove when purchased the car new in 2015 (i tired the Ford Ranger, BT-50, Amarok, Colarado & Triton) at the time and the dealer at Yarra Valley Nissan allowed me to drive this car to the other manufacturers yards to compare the car dir...Read more
ectly and it was the selling point as i could tell the difference in the rides and not too mention the hard to beat 1% fiance offer. This is my work car where i travel approximately 800km per week with a mix of Freeway and inner city driving averaging 8.5L per 100km (approx. 760km per tank), never once have i felt uncomfortable due to the ride quality. The cabin is quiet and engine is surprisingly quite when cruising at 60-100km/h, but can have some rattles when accelerating from a low speed start, quite common with the other diesel cars that I've driven with work. The interior is okay, but becoming dated with the hard plastic finishes and old informant system, but all systems work as advertised. Fortunately for me i don't have to carry much weight in the back for work because you can notice the unsettled ride, but like 80% of utes i see on the road these days, its not used for transporting 1 tonne of tools to the jobsite to jobsite and if you where to carry such weight you would upgrade the suspension as we have done with our BT 50, Ranger & Falcon work fleet carting A/C service tool boxes.Similar opinion? Great car with good power and fuel economy.
Had my np300 for 8 months now and this is my second one. Love the way it handles and drives. The only criticisms that i would have about the np300 is that it does not have a ignition key courtesy light. I am sure that Nissan could rectify this easily enough. Also the air box pickup on top of the radiator support panel not ideal for any water play.

Disappointing to say the least!
Ever since new this ute has given me trouble.
Almost a lemon!
As soon as I left the dealership I new it didn't have the power it should, also once on the freeway there was a terrible shake right through the whole ute.
I went to the local Nissan dealer straightaway and they found that there was a problem with the turbo boost...that was fixed! as to the wobble......sorry we cant find anything!
I drove for another 5000km....then totally feed up!

18000kms and mostly perfect
2017 series 2 White manual ST. I drove the Amarok and triton, and found this to be the better buy. I have had the car for just over 12 months, and the ute is basically perfect, including daily driving and a 4000 km trip. The only issue was an minor oil leak from the intercooler pipe from new, which was replaced and haven’t had any issues since.
The ute is very comfortable to drive, nice interior and fairly smooth on the road and corners well, given it’s a Ute. Engine has bucket loads of torque, you can almost just leave it in 6th most of t...Read more
he time and will just pull away when asked. fuel economy is amazing for this size 4x4 ute. Average is 7.8 l/100km city and freeway, I’ve had 5 on some 80km/h trips. Yes the official figures are rubbish, but I think people who complain on here forget they are not driving a Prius! our Pajero gets nowhere near this. Engine sounds like a diesel, but is quieter than our Pajero, especially when cruising on freeways, where the car is very quiet. 4x4 works as advertised, with good ratios in the manual for slowly driving in 1st if need be. Turning circle is crap, but seems the same as a Hilux and long wheelbase utes in general, it is a long vehicle, so if it didn’t have the reverse camera, I’d find it hard to park. Stereo and nav system works great, has Bluetooth, hands free voice activation and can use Siri on IPhones to send messages etc. A/C worked great over summer. The white paint is tough as you can expect. The only annoying things are lack of outside air temp indicator, and the fuel warning coming on with 160km of fuel left- first world problems Only needs service once a year, which is about $500.Similar opinion? I’d rather ride my push bike for reliability.
Driving experience dramatically improved with an aftermarket suspension kit from TJM,
Reliability is an absolute joke, 55,000 on the clock and I’ve had 4 boost solenoids fail,
3 intercooler hoses leak oil and one of which blew off and couldn’t be reattached sending the car into limp mode.
4 CV boots come loose spraying grease everywhere, finally on the 4th go they replaced the whole CV shaft and haven’t had an issue with that part since,
2 rear main seals fail,
2 timing case seals fail,
Drivers seat foam fail,
Rust above the windscreen and behind the rear window seam from delivery.
Paint is thinner than toilet paper.
Output shaft seal fail,
