Nobby’s Salted Peanuts

published

They are supposed to be salted. But the majority of nuts I purchase have the salt at the bottom. I shake them up but the salt still settles to the bottom. They just need a coating to retain the salt. I buy these nuts every shop. Some are fine but the majority have salt at the bottom.

Very disappointed

published

I have eaten Nobby nuts for years but in the last 2 years every other packet I buy I have to dispose of. They are dry, not salted and tasteless.
They are still in date of best before.

Shame on you Nobbys

published

Gosh, I keep buying them but they’re just far too salty, I won’t be buying anymore. Disappointed as the peanuts themselves are nice and they’ve been a household name in our family for generations.

I’ve looked all over to contact the company but failed. I buy 1-2 packets each week and have just purchased a pack with so much more salt than normal I think something has gone wrong

Purchased mixed but mostly peanuts. Buy regularly however, lately only 1 in every 3 or 4 packets have a good mixture. Included a sample photo. Could you review your packaging process?

The right to repair: which brands are making it easier for you to fix their products?

The right to repair movement in Australia is calling for companies to make it easier for their products to be repaired. Here are some electronics and appliance manufacturers who are starting to listen and make it more feasible for consumers to repair, rather than replace, their items.

Disappointed in the lack of Australian content

published

I do agree with other comments. The taste and quality has dropped. Peanuts seem to have excessive salt to hid the poor flavour. And a shame that the contents are imported. I know times require tighter margins but many companies have survived and flourished because they stuck to their quality control and set standards that other companies strived for. The brand is respected but not the product and soon the brand will also lose the market support.

Purchased in September 2021 at Woolworths.

Too salty by far!

published

A few years ago nobbys nuts were the best, then they went through a bad faze. They improved slightly about 2022 and now they are so so so salty, you can't eat them. I mix them 50/50 with aldi peanuts which don't have enough salt. Come on nobby, get your nuts seen to.

Where has Nobby's Nuts gone

published

Having eaten Nobby's nuts for over 50 years it is disgusting to read on the packet that less then 10% is Australia product. This proven out when you open the packet to find a mixture of dark brown to cream colored in the packet and the flavor matched the poor mixture. that will be the last packet i buy until someone can prove to me they have improved

Bought Nobby salted peanuts recently. To be objective and factual and non aggressive, well ok, they were completely inferior. They were once a good product but now they look awful and the taste matches. No more nibbling Nobby’s for us.

Are these nuts Chinese, Agentinian or just plain guano?

published

First bag of Nobby's Beer Nuts for years. Disgusted, they taste nothing like peanuts, and having tasted Chinese peanuts they could be twins. I think I will gather rabbit droppings, they should taste better!

Slowly getting worse

published

If the nuts tasted anything like those shown on the packet, they would be half decent. Unfortunately they are hard, dry and tasteless. False advertising. Will not be wasting my money on Nobby’s Nuts again.

Why are salted peanuts these days - not just Nobby's I assure you - so dry? 50-60 years ago, when I was a child and acquired a taste/liking for peanuts (salted ones in particular) they were far more oily. Now it's far more difficult to find a packet (of any brand) that isn't dry. Why is this? Has government legislation got something to do with it? Can you buy more-oiled peanuts on the Internet?

They are not salted anymore. All the salt sits at the bottom of the packet. Yes the nuts are dry.
All that needs to be done is a little oil to attract the salt and the nuts would be perfect. They advertise salted nuts but they aren’t.

Please can you tell me where Nobby's sources their peanuts? Where are they grown?

I just googled it, the peanuts are from Argentina which I find disgusting!
We grow peanuts in Australia.
I won't be buying Nobby's nuts anymore.
