Very impressed!

published

I was a little bit hesitant buying the Nulon Full Synthetic 5W-30. I have always thought that Nulon are not good. After servicing my 2006 Toyota Hiace I am convinced I did the right thing buying this oil. After I have finished servicing my Hiace I took it for a drive and I could feel the difference. I will be sticking with Nuon from now on.

cheap and does the job

a lot of people reported quieter engine noise after trying nulon oil but i can report no such improvements, my car has always been serviced on time and i usually use castrol synthetic but nulon is slightly cheaper and it seems to be just as good (i hope, no way i can prove it)

Benz turbo improvement

published

The 5W-40 Longlife Synthetic meets the highest Benz requirement (MB 229.5) so tried it after getting some cold start noise from the turbo (about 1-2 seconds) on other synthetic oil - Big improvement and am also heartened by the independant testing results of Nulon oils by a German company that tests for all the major manufacturers.
Price and moly additive
Only 5 litre container - not 6 - had to buy 10 litres

nulon 5w-30 longlife fully synthetic

i recently bought nulon oil and was unsure but after the mechanics at work told me about it and we did a little testing of our own i was sold used it in my grandfathers v8 commodore and it gained 15bhp and 40nm and ran smoother quiter and oil change intervals went up to 15 thousand km from 7.5 thounsand and it still had a lot of life left so for all you people who like one oil type dont judge a book by its cover try before you say its no good.
price and wide range of products.
no 4 litre bottles of fully synthetic oils.

I don't know much about Penrite oil, but I so happy of using Nylon 5w-30 in my car.
The oil is like new after 8k, I haven using Nulon since the day one in any of my car's, past and present, specially on Calais, Commodore, Barina, Toyota, Nissan. That's I don't have any mechanical problems.

Kathy, the Penrite Enviro 5W-30 is the same as the Nulon Full Synthetic 5W-30, its recommended for all European turbo diesels mainly, I've used both Nulon and Penrite with my 2012 1.6 Citroen C4 turbo diesel since the vehicle was new (and after the first free service, as I do my own servicing) and they are both excellent synthetic oils. Btw, the 5W=30 is the recommended synthetic oil for my vehicle and both of these oils are premium grade Aussie synthetic oils and do a perfect job.

Toyota recommend 10w30 for camry 11-17 models. Is it good to use 5w30 for Camry 2015 that has 100K+ kms on clock?

If Toyota recommends 10W-30 synthetic then it must be right, if it recommends mineral oil or semi synthetic then that is what you should use, as the Toyota Camry is not a turbo powered diesel or petrol engine so always stick with what the manufacturer recommends as that is the best engine oil or lubricant for your vehicle e.g. with my Citroen C4 eHDi B7 2012 which is a turbo diesel, Citroen recommends to only use 5W-30 synthetic oil and NOT the 0W-40 or 5W-40 synthetic,

This is what viscosity really means e.g. in a 10w-40 for example the 10w bit (W = winter, not weight or watt or anything else for that matter) simply means that the oil must have a certain maximum viscosity/flow at low temperature. The lower the "W" number the better the oil's cold temperature/cold start performance. The 40 in a 10w-40 simply means that the oil must fall within certain viscosity limits at 100°C. This is a fixed limit and all oils that end in 40 must achieve these limits. Once again the lower the number, the thinner the oil: a 30 oil is thinner than a 40 oil at 100°C etc. Your handbook will specify whether a 30, 40 or 50 etc is required. That is about it, hope this helps, cheers.

i have an 09 camry,i use 5w40 in mine,or 10w40.
The 10w30 crap toyota use makes a ticking noise in the cam buckets.
Use a 5w40 or a 10w40,there's no harm in it.

I have a Mercedes Sprinter 316 CDI (2011) with a dpf. It is a camper van that may sit for a couple of months then then get a 2000KM trip. What is the recommended oil to use and what change interval ?

With a DPF and turbo diesel you should only use the 5W-30 synthetic and change your oil at a 10,000kms interval.
