Phone Good, Bad Manufacturer Updates
The phone does everything you could want, it has a good camera both front and rear, a six inch screen is great viewing and also with good audio clarity, I like the fingerprint scan unlock and the build quality of the of the phone is also quite good and feels very solid in the hand. The operating system is also robust and easy to use with plenty of options with google apps to choose from. The biggest issue with this phone is once this company produces a phone you can forget any updates to the android system after a year and thereby negates any savings as far as I am concerned as it quickly fell behind in a number of software and android OS updates.

The best phone ever
I've had a mobile phone since they were first available. In those decades I've had just about every brand you can think of. Seriously! But the best ever phone I've ever had is the Oppo R7 Plus. I heard about the range while I still had a phone. As soon as it died I got the Oppo, I would have got any model because all got great reviews

Why pay more with Samsung? OPPO is 10 times better!
Brought the Oppo from Dick Smith nearly 2 years ago and it is still by far one of the best phones on the market!
4gb Ram, 64gb storage, fast processor, amazing camera, micro SD slot for extra storage and amazingly versatile!
Love the OPPO brand 100%
Would recommend to anyone!

What a great phone
This is the best phone I've ever owned. I've had so many since 1999, many various brands, and this one has made me the happiest. I would like to upgrade to A R9 plus but have no real reason to, since this one is still perfect. It has the best build and feel of any phone I've had, plus the hardware is lovely. It comes with a back cover and the charger is,super fast.

It's a TV in your pocket - looks nothing like an iPhone.
The best value for money package for me had arrived and I snapped it up. Have been following Oppo since late 2013 - BBK is the parent company of Vivo and OnePlus phones as well. They finally delivered exactly what I needed. A BIG brilliant 6" FHD AMOLED display with very good build quality and above mid range HW spec's at a fraction of the price of the big boys. This is my first Android phone so a lot to learn - after coming to grips with the nuances and annoyance of Android Lollipop 5.1.1 and to a lesser degree Oppo's Color OS 2.0 overlay whic...Read more
h I am really now getting to like. Needed to buy a Nano sim (still with Amaysim - now on 4G), got activated in 5 minutes over the net, I was up and running in no time. Set up Fingerprint Scanner and setting up Screen OFF Gestures was fun (works with phone on but screen off/locked) - Already set is - Swipe a large cirlce (O) opens the camera and swipe *down* to awaken the screen. I set *double tap* to awaken screen also (a habit from my old Nokia N9) - swipe *Arrow Up* (an upside down V) to turn on Flashlight - swipe *Arrow Down* to open my Nokia HERE Maps. Then there are Screen ON Gestures - 2 finger swipe up/down to change Volume - 3 finger swipe *up* or *down* to snap shot the screen (even in Videos) - and quite a few more gestures left to play with to open any other App. It comes with 32Gb memory so no need to rush and max out with up to a 128Gb memory card. The huge 4100mAh is not easily removable (a strip down is required) - get on the net and check it out - the spec's are awesome for the price. It came with a screen protector already on it so only needed to buy a flip wallet (see my review here - My Favourite Fashions) for additional protection, cash and cards all in one. It comes with all the Australian network call frequencies, including 4G LTE FDD bands 1/3/5/7/8 and 28 - 700mHz and TD band 40 but be careful if purchasing from overseas. The only down side is the stupid user manual but it's not hard to work around it, Internet forums, or Oppo support which I just did - they were helpful with a basic generic version for me to download. NOTE - no FM radio (but Internet radio works fine) nor NFC. Audio on videos is a little tinny beyond half volume but from what I have found most phones suffer the same problem, even the expensive ones. Photo's and videos are brilliant as is the general feel and functioning of the phone. The 3 Android buttons are in the screen - not dedicated along the bottom bezel like most phones so a little screen real estate is lost but not with photos and videos - just tap the video on screen and you get the full 6" view which translates to a body to screen ratio just under 80% - unlike the new iPhone SE at around 60% but most other phones at 70 - 75%. This 4G phone will have to find a new place - in my jacket or big pockets of my cargo shorts. Why did I buy it - brilliant FHD AMOLED screen, dual sim or 1 sim with memory expansion out to 128 Gb (bought a 64Mb microSDXC class 10 memory sim) 3 gb system ram, not too heavy for such a large phone, extremely quick VOOC charging 25 TO 100% in about 45 minutes) or use a normal (slow) charger in the car works fine. Oppo's design and build quality has always been top notch, How I easily get 2 days usage from the massive battery with plenty to spare, with phone always ON 24/7. TURN OFF - GPS / Bluetooth / Sync / Personal Hot Spot / WiFi / Google Auto downloads / and the Weather Widget - I use the BOM App on my front screen, one extra tap required but is always accurate and up to date. There is also a Power Saving options I have not played with yet. I can quickly turn on any feature - Pull down from the top on the opening screen and tap to select. Six months on - not a top flight phone but still great - 5 stars - value for money. ENJOY.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

I'm actually using my sons R7plus as my Samsung Galaxy 6 failed to operate after the forced upgrade (not update) to 7.0 Nougat.
The Oppo is a great phone although I'm not happy with the video playback quality after I've shot the video. I may have settings wrong I don't know. It's like voice doesn't sync up with the speaker and looks almost slow motion.
ANY suggestions?

Hey Mogg!
There should be a setting that you can change the video quality to a higher resolution
Jump onto your camera settings and you should be able to work it out :D
Open the camera and choose Video. On the right is the symbol with 5 circles. Tap on it. You will see Normal video and Time lapse. Down the bottom, in the middle is the settings icon. This will bring up video settings you can alter. Video mode is default 720p. You can set it to 1080p. Play around with some of the other settings maybe?
Thankyou Tara & Gailg.
Have had look and changed it from 720p to1080p and also from the 16.9 to 4.3. Will let you know
