I was wondering if the optimum 9200 is particularly loud? I know that all blenders are noisy however a couple years back I purchased a blender which was incredibly, incredibly noisy, even my friend who thought I was exaggerating was shocked at how loud it was, so I was wondering if this one is loud compared to normal standard?

Karen5555
Karen5555

I would say it is loud but I think it is because of the speed as well as it being plastic and the ability to mill food that's quite hard. So the food particles are hitting the plastic at high speeds making the loudness. I can only compare it to a standard glass jar blender that I had before which I didn't use to mill/grind dry stuff. But it is loud and will startle family members in the beginning!

Meena shah
Meena shah

Yes It is loud as its a high speed blender and that is expected but I don't find it incredibly noisy at all. It's only becomes uncomfortably noisy when there is not enough food in it to blend and the food is not touching the blades and they make noise. Otherwise it's fine to me.

Hi Sarah,

Thank you for your query,

The noise level of the Optimum 9200A is similar and in line to most leading brands. It surely fits within the normal standard noise of a high speed blender
For comparison the noise level of the Optimum 9200A is a minimal 80-90 decibels when blending. We do acknowledge that the noise level in some other blenders could be deafening

Hello!

I'm confused about the warranty. It says lifetime warranty but when I click to purchase, it gives me the option of: Domestic lifetime, 10yr domestic + 105 and 1yr commercial.

On your website, what warranty is the lifetime? or is this only a limited time offer of lifetime warranty? And what does the lifetime warranty cover?

Optimum Appliances
Mario N.Optimum Appliances

Hello Sonya and thank you for your query.

The Optimum 9200A (2nd Gen) is a higher quality appliance to the Optimum 8200. Below is a summary of the differences:

- The Optimum 9200A (2nd Gen) has a faster and more powerful motor. This leads to quicker blending and better consistency for thick contents
- The longer blades of the 9200A (2nd Gen) also allows it to chop, grind and slice more effectively
- The 9200A (2nd Gen)’s bearings have more seals and better quality ball bearings, leading to increased longevity and the ability to be used commercially with no issues

The 8200 is a great affordable blender, easily outperforming the likes of NutriBullet, Breville and Sunbeam

I recently purchased an optimum 9400 and am dis appointed when making my bliss balls . Mixture because jammed are out the blades constantly.

Hi Sue, I'm having similar issues. My mixtures are certainly not dry but my 9400 does not appear to be able to take the load for bliss ball mixtures. Even very soft mixtures. Not sure if this is a fault or not. Seems to make everything else well. Hot soups, smoothies, oat and seed flours etc.

Optimum Appliances
Athena Solutions Pty LtdOptimum Appliances

Hi Sue, Penny better late than never :-)

Firstly, I want to apologize for the delayed response. It seems this question was missed somehow.

The mixtures you are describing seem pretty hard but not dry as the coconut oil should do the trick in terms of moisture. The Optimum 9400 is truly a powerful machine and it shouldn't face any issues when blending the ingredients you mentioned. We actually tested it while blending pavements stones and the results were amazing.

Check it out here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vff26iSqK9I

Please make sure the ingredients are added to the jug in the correct order specified in the User Manual in order to get the best results:

1. Frist Liquids (in this case the coconut oil)
2. Then soft foods/vegetables (in this case dates and apricots)
3. Last add frozen produce/ice/harder ingredients (in this case, the nuts)

If after following these steps the mixture still gets stuck, the best thing to do is to use the Tamper Tool through the designated space which can be found on the Jug Lid to push the mixture towards the blades.

You can find a demo video where one of our partners is actually preparing Bliss Balls in the Optimum 9400 -https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=inzHrjjee0Q

Hope this helps and cheers to your health!

Hi,

I've been using the Optimum 9200A for nearly a week now and the smoothies have been great. Two days ago it started turning itself on after I'd finished using it! I've pressed the reset button with no change unfortunately. In addition to this, when initially plugging it in and turning it on it will occasionally go straight to medium speed and I can't turn it off other than to turn off the power at the power point. 4 answers
Michaela
Michaela

I have both, and it really depends on what your preferences are. The 9200A literally blends ANYTHING - carrots, kale, the whole lot! The resulting product is thick, like a smoothie. The juicer will extract liquid only & produce fibrous by-product. If you're happy to drink smoothies I'd definitely suggest the 9200A, because it's such a great all-rounder & has so many other functions (soups, homemade almond milk, bliss balls are just some of the things I use it to make), whereas a juicer just makes juice.. Hope that helps! :)

Thank you John. I have been in touch with the distributor today and they have referred me to the reset button underneath... Which I tried over and over ...Appears it is fairly low set in the unit making difficult to depress. In fairness, they have been very helpful but are mystified as to why I cannot get it going - the cover on the bottom deters me a little from pressing too hard with anything but my finger ... Looks like a replacement on the cards -- shame !! As is filled it with food already :0). I might just be the only dummy to encounter this .. ( who admits to it) maybe I need more power smoothies to build up my button pushing strength !

John
John

Yes, the reset button is hard to push. I am not sure whether we need to unplug the plastic protection to push or just press it directly with the cover on it. Support might be able to help us how to press this reset button.
My only issue at the moment is the tamper tool that split between the top and bottom. They send a replacement so I will give my review after a few months. So far the Optimum 9200A is very good use it for 2 weeks already.

it does for me! Only one did i chuck a whole lime in and i tasted the tiniest piece of pith- but thats because i cut the blender time short. i only blended for 15 seconds instead of 20. It absolutely does the berry seeds and nuts to a cream. Defs works better when the nuts have been soaked, but if you use the tamper and do't soak the nuts its still all good.

Thank you for your query,

The Optimum 9200A 2nd Gen is our most powerful blender, therefore berries are no problem and can be blended in seconds :-)

Raspberry seeds are the hardest berries to blend, however the 9200A 2nd Gen can blend them down to a smooth consistency that you can absolutely drink through a straw.

Cashew butter as well as other nut butters can also be prepared in seconds :-)

You can also make delicious nut milks in the Optimum, as well as fruit smoothies, green smoothies, juices, ice cream, hot soups, dips, deserts, dressings, dough, flour, baby food and more…

I've noticed all of the reviews here are within a 2-3 month time frame. How does this product stand up to long term use? For example, my Kitchen Aid stand mixer is over 20 years old and still run and looks as it was the day I got it. I am leaning towards the 9400 for more control but at this price point, there is not that much difference in the 9400 and the Vitamix and I am not sure I would be happy with the 9200. I am the primary kitchen user in my household so I am very particular about my tools, especially the high price, quality ones that I require to last. Another concern I have is that this item is not readily available to inspect prior to the purchase because it does not seem to be available in stores.

I have had mine for over 6 months and it has not missed a beat. I use it daily and more than once a day. That's not the same as 20 years but I have sure used it. Froothie states you can send it back within 30 days of purchase if you are not happy, must keep all the packaging for this. Plus you also have a choice of warranty. To me you can't lose. After reading reviews regarding Vitamix I steered clear and that's how I discovered Froothie and bought my blender.

I have added meat as well and it comes out lovely and smooth. When I have made baby food, I always think how great it would of been if I had this blender when the kids were babies. Hello Shannon and thank you for your query :-)

Both the Optimum 8200 and 9200A can easily make baby food among many other functions which can be found in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ljRFJz8idEY

The Optimum 9200A is the commercial grade version of the 8200, with more power, speed and made with higher quality parts.

Optimum Appliances
Athena Solutions Pty LtdOptimum Appliances

Hello Nick, better late than never :)

As mentioned in the videos on our Recipe Channel (Froothie TV), raspberries are quite hard to blend. Often there are still raspberry seeds in the 9400 result, albeit not as many and also some have been broken down slightly allowing a smoother feeling result.

No matter what type of blender used (from Optimum to Nutribullet to Vitamix) completely blending every raspberry seed is literally impossible. That said there are some great techniques to maximize the result and give a smoother texture.

Combine the raspberries with other thick ingredients e.g. kale and avocado
Always using thicker and heavier ingredients will allow you to blend more easily.

Add less water
As mentioned in the videos on our Recipe Channel (Froothie TV), raspberries are quite hard to blend. Most often there are still raspberry seeds in the 9400 result, albeit not as many and also some have been broken down slightly allowing a smoother feeling result.

Use the tamper
Gently use the tamper to stir a little even though the mixture will move freely. This often affects the vortex and can allow some of the seeds to make contact with the blades rather than floating past.

OK, I am having such trouble deciding whether to purchase the 9200A or the 9400. I am aware of all the differences & have been told that anything that the 9400 can do, the 9200A can do it as well. It doesn't help me decide though. It comes down to buttons vs switches but I have no idea which one will be more suitable for me. There are many more reviews/comparisons/instructional videos using the 9400 & I thought that watching & reading all of this info would help me decide but it hasn't. Hi Krishna, I was unsure which one to buy due to the button or switch as well. I went with the button as I liked the fact I could press the button and walk away. I am glad I did, as I will push the button and walk away quickly to do something. Especially when I wash the jug. Plus I like the fact it is timed and I always think if I did the timing myself it wouldn't be the same. I have used the low, med, high buttons for self control. Really I think you have the best in both worlds with the buttons. Happy blending. Emma Kit

Hello Krishna,

better late than never :) Hope you have already decided which blender to go with. Just in case any of the other readers are interested in:

The Optimum 9200A 2nd gen and the 9400 Vortex blenders are our two of our most preferred and powerful blenders.

According to Product Review Australia, 2018:

The 9200A is the #1 Best Rated Blender in Australia

/p/optimum-9200.html

The 9400 is the #3 Best Rated Blender in Australia

/p/optimum-9400.html

Both blenders can easily make:

Nut Butters
Coconuts into coconut flakes/coconut butter
Ice Creams
Hot Soups
Nut milks
Flours
Dips
Sauces
Kneading and more.
They are designed to last and outperform other blenders.

Here's a great comparison to Vitamix: http://www.froothie.com/optimum-vs-vitamix-vs-blendtec-comparison-review/

The Optimum 9200A – 2nd Generation also comes with an optional 10-Year warranty, and is a commercial-grade Vortex blender, therefore will last you many years without any issues.

The Optimum 9400 is also manufactured using the same high-quality durable parts.

The main difference is functionality:

Dial (9400) vs. Buttons (9200A)

The Dial allows for more finite control, while the buttons provide automatic timer functions which is great for smoothies and juices on the go.

The 6-blade assembly of both models is longer than any other blender, allowing for superior chopping, slicing and grinding capabilities perfect for domestic users.

The timer function of the 9200A – 2nd Generation is another great feature for busy users!

Hi Braewood, I was unable to answer your question as I have never tried rice. So the best way was to try!! I covered the bottom of my blender and put it on for 45 seconds.
