It's not perfect but doesn't deserve the Aussie bash.
First of all i'd like to address my own camera before talking about the overwhelming negatives on this particular site.
I've owned it for a little more than a year and during that time i've used it to further my casual hobby taking photos here and there, mostly garden and seasonal flowers/trees/clouds that kind of thing. It's amazing the image quality that I get from something that cost me a penny compared to a proper DSLR or even higher grade compact digitals.
It's pros:
Not too heavy, not too light fantastic travel weight
Good finish all r...Read more

Definitely not for travel.
Went to Harvey Norman to buy a new Canon camera for travel. Was talked into buying this Lumix instead. I've had to resort to pulling the old Canon SX710 out of retirement as the Lumix photos are terrible. Trouble is, you don't know how bad until you've taken a couple of days worth and then download them. Photos all round are bad, but terrible in bright contrasty light or low light. Very disappointed. Also, it doesn't group photos in daily folders like the Canon does and the flash is located right where your finger goes when holding the camera. I have always used Canons for travel and have some great photos. Wont be tempted to buy anything else in future.

Not as good as the old Lumix TZ60
Bought as replacement for Lumix TZ60, disappointing as does not have in built GPS, more bulky and heavier camera. Have had poor results with panoramic shots, never had problems with older TZ60. Has selfie screen, I would much prefer screen that fipped down which allowed you to take high or low shots. It lasted two months before it stopped working. I have to post it to Sydney to get it fixed or replaced under warranty so means I will probably be without a camera for 4 - 6 weeks as I am in Perth .

Terrible Camera, not worth the money
Very disappointed with purchase, did a lot of research and was aware that picture quality is compromised in 'low light' conditons, but certainly didn't expect it to be that bad, picture tends to be very grainy and blurry.
Features such as post focus and 4K make the already confusing operation even more complex and are- in my opinion- just added gimicks nobody would really need. Google Pixel phone takes way better images.

Terrible low light performance...difficult to use menu
I was attracted by the zoom, which is really great, but indoors in low light the picture is terrible, very grainy, and far inferior to a mobile phone camera.. Couple this with a confusing menu system, the camera is certainly not worth the price you pay for it . Extremely disappointing.

Value packed camera without the DSLR price tag
The Panasonic LUMIX DC-TZ90 is an amazing digital camera that shoots 4K photography and has 30X optical zoom. This camera is mirrorless meaning it has faster and quieter processing times. It is great for action shots and has a vast array of digital preset modes, enabling professional shots on auto mode. Another feature is that it is compact due to being mirrorless which makes it the best option on the market for travelers. Overall, fantastic camera.

The perfect compact travel camera - incredible!!
This camera beats 'em all hands down what a beauty Panasonic have come up with here.
The optical (no digital trickery) zoom is incredible at 30x meaning you can zoom right in on subjects a long distance away and the optical stabilization means you get tack sharp images every time too. At the wide end of the zoom you can easily take great landscape images as it is super wide angle, so you get the best of both worlds with this camera.
As brilliant as it is taking still images the video side of things is just as incredible.

Great Spec but POOR image quality. I returned mine.
This camera has an amazing specification (on paper) and I was seduced by Panasonic's promise of it being "The ideal travelogue camera" offering "crisp details". The reality was so disappointing.....
While I have some pro end canon kit I often use my trusty little IXUS 100 IS for happy snaps so I feel my expectations of image quality here are in proportion. The first thing that struck me with the TZ90 was the really smudgy edges in the jpeg shots on any ISO from 200 or above. "Not to worry" I thought, "this thing shoots RAW so let's see wha...Read more
t we can do there". This where I got sad... The sensor in this camera clearly suffers a dramatic increase in noise as soon as you move above ISO 80. By ISO 400/500 it's completely unacceptable (IMO). To compound matters the lens is pretty soft. I would definitely not describe it as crisp. Trying to correct for this combination of noise and soft focus in RAW processing is a recipe for disappointment. I really couldn't make a meaningful improvement on the jpeg shots. The majority of travel users will not have a tripod so to performer as a travel camera it needs to be able to cope with dull conditions as well as brilliant light and this means higher ISO's. Other cameras can cope much better. This camera has a whole raft of cool features like 4k video and touch screen that tilts 180. It also feels quite solid in your hand but for me the poor image quality is a deal breaker so I took it back and received a refund after just 4 days.Similar opinion?
