Customer Service Needs To Up Their Game - Perhaps Some Training On How To Speak To Customers
Returned a missed call from PD Online. Discussed my automatic policy renewal, and flagged that I was surprised that I received a COC at 11:05pm, many hours after funds (and an increased premium) had been deducted from my account. I spoke with a gentleman, who said that I received an email on 28/03 advising that my premium was increasing - when in fact the email was to notify of a "Change of Underwriter". While admittedly I did miss the attachment on the email (with an increased premium), there was no mention in the email itself of my policy r...Read more
enewal or an increased premium. I flagged this with the gentleman to which I received the response of "I don't know how to make this any more clear... we only have a small call center... you can cancel your policy if you want". Text of email copied below, where not once does it mention my policy renewal or an increased premium. "Going forward, your insurance policy will be underwritten by Pacific International Insurance Pty Limited. You can review the combined Product Disclosure Statement and Financial Services Guide here, and your Certificate of Insurance is attached for your convenience. Don’t ever use this insurance company
This company is not helpful at all in the event of you their client needing to make a claim. Received notification from another company of a small fender bender ( not my fault). No damage to my vehicle even but damage to theirs. Had to pay insurance excess up front obtain and provide license history and claims information up front or they won’t action anything. Still waiting on outcome but indications are won’t get my excess money back. Frustrating time consuming and treated like a criminal for stopping and rendering assistance on a not at fault bump.

What's the point of this company?
They don't help you. It seems like they make their customers do all the work that they should be doing. Would not recommend. Definitely worth spending a dew extra dollars to get actual cover.

Policy cancelled
Policy was cancelled after making a claim when we hit a kangaroo
At first they said ok get windscreen repaired which we did then they told us that they were not informed of a provisional licence and cancelled all policies on 4 cars we had insured with them
Had to pay for winscreen repair ourselves and didnt bother to repair other panels
They did refund the policy value which had only just been renewed
Then they totally stuffed up and reimbursed us for the previous years policy too
Ah you win some and lose some

Beware of these animals
PD insurance aka progressive insurance is a company from hell. I had glass cover in my policy. I had my car broken into. They refused to pay for the repairs as they said and I quote, "we will go broke if we have to pay for broken windows" end quote. I had to pay for the repairs out of my own pocket. I gave them a second chance. Then in February I was involved in a car accident a general fender bender that was was not fault, and to be honest not the fault of the car that hit me. As it wouldn't of happened if it wasn't for the idiot in the fast l...Read more
ane. It took 3 weeks for to get my claim sorted. They tried to get out of providing a rental car even though I pay for it in my policy. They NEVER call you back. You have to chase them. It gets worse, I caught them red handed bullying my panel beater. They demanded that my panel beater to repair my car as cheaply as possible, with all cheap parts. They bullied them to the point that the panel beaters were at a lost. They were so badly treated and bullied that when they found other damage they made repairs at their expense as they refused to speak with them after their poor treatment. Pd insurance flatly denies this and called the panel beaters liers. They avoided pay fees by paying me, then me to pay the panel beaters. They treat their clients very poorly. Stay away from them.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Worst organisation experience ever
Claim made against me in I am not at fault accident. Spent 5 hours so far dealing with processing and I have to pay excess up front for claim from a third party to be processed. No damage to my vehicle at all. I am supposed to be their customer/ client and they should be representing me. Probably won’t be my excess back now they have money.

Used to be with them, thought I’d perhaps give them another go
I used to be with this company when they were called Progressive Direct. Had 2 cars insured with them. Had one claim on each car. Claim on first car was at fault (I reversed into a trailer). Was pretty easy to deal with - no problems! Second claim was the wife’s car. She was involved in a 3 car accident, not at fault. The car was deemed a write off. Progressive were nit-picking over a small dent in the rear bumper, stating that as it’s pre-existing, it will affect the payout as it’s undeclared damage. The dent would have been no more than 1 cm ...Read more
big, no paint damage. Don’t even know how it would have occurred. This delayed the settlement. Made a complaint and stated I will lodge official complaint with ombudsman. Claim was miraculously settled the next day in full. Shocking people to deal with. When offered a renewed, out policy had doubled. Rang up and asked, apparently we were too high risk. Ended up switching to AAMI - they’ve been absolutely great. In the last 4 years had to make 2 not at fault claims - quick and easy, no problems. Our renewals are also best prices - they don’t jack them up. Just saw an ad for the now PD insurance, decided to get a quote just to see. Can’t even offer me a quote because of previous claims. (1 only at fault, now over 5 years ago....). All other insurance companies are happy to offer insurance, but this mob haven’t changed and are an absolute joke. Also, as an extra kick, their “agreed market value” is way less than what most of the others will offer. My advice, go with someone else - and take note of the many negative reviews on here.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

LIVING NIGHTMARE
Horrible horrible horrible! This company takes your money and the minute you make a claim they spend more time investigating reasons to not cover you than worrying about your safety and helping get your car in the shop. Not at fault claim over a month ago and they have been the most terrifying to deal with. HORRIFIC customer service, especially claims they are so horrible and unprofessional and very difficult to deal with. I’ll be contacting the ombudsman and then I cannot wait to leave this so called insurance company.

Lacks customer service and support
Was sideswiped by a truck and so the accident wasn't my fault. Called PD to help push the process along with the third party insurer (other person had put forward a claim) and to be honest - the woman who answered couldn't have been less interested or nonchalent in the situation. Responded later than the stated 48hrs return time and just overall unhelpful. I've ended up just directly dealing with the 3rd party because PD just don't seem to think it's worth their time.
Anyway, I switched to PD on price so the faults really on me. If you're looking for customer support or help, this is not the insurance company for you.

not happy JAN
Ok so it is only early days in a claim but they have been really difficult. They are happy to take your money year after year but we made a claim a couple od days ago and they have come back asking me to provide a licence check that I have to pay for myself, and then proceed to tell me I have had previous claims that were not noted at time of taking out the policy. So it seems they already have all of your information anyway so the questions you answer at time of insurance are a trap or not - tell me. Oh and no way have I made 9 claims in the l...Read more
ast 5 years - I am 55 so perhaps over my entire life. They also want details on the claims, I don't have any nor do I know where to get them. As soon as this is over I will be dumping them, make me fell like a criminal. My advice is go suncorp, we had 2 vehicles caught in a hailstorm Suncorp have been a breeze to deal with PD really annoying me, I get the feeling they are not going to accept the claim.Similar opinion? Terrible! They will charge you more if you rent your home
Was quoted $928 for comprehensive annually, I compared on iSelect came back with $716, when asked why the discrepancy, I was told it's because you are renting! If you are renting do not use this company, this is highly discriminatory for no reason. There is no additional risk to them if the car owner is renting or a home owner. Disgusting reprehensible behaviour!

The worst insurance company.
Took 2 months to completely settle a claim that I wasn't at fault for. Had to follow up multiple timed and got lied to everytime. Rubbish customer service were rude, and had no transparency in their process. They deleted all my honest reviews and comments on Facebook and ended up disabling reviews because of all the negative reviews.
Honestly would give them a minus star review if I could.

Let me keep it simple, do not deal with this insurance company. They will make you pay when it comes to making a claim.
I have been with PD for several years. When it came to making a claim, they tried every excuse under the sun of why they can't fix all that was damaged in an accident.

Dodgy pricing
Checked insurance quotes on behalf of my wife on Compare the market for Volkswagon Golf we are about to purchase, PD Insurance quote came up for $462.07 but when it directed me to their site I filled in the details & the quote came to $898.46.
We are rating 1 drivers with no claims, no lost points on our licences, no age constraints & current comprehensive insurance.
I can only suspect that this is a scam or a lure to get you on their site & possibly buy a policy, but why would you as it turned out they had the most expensive policy.

My experience dealing with PD has been excellent.
PD's premiums have always been much lower than the competition, and I always compare at renewal time. But the real test of an insurance company is their performance when you need to make a claim. A few weeks ago I was tail-ended by an uninsured driver while waiting in traffic. The impact wrote off my car. I phoned PD from the crash scene and they organised a tow-truck immediately. My car was assessed, the claim paid out, and I was in a new car within two weeks. The consultants at PD were always polite and kept me informed at every stage. My experience with PD over the years has been excellent.

Worst insurance agent ever
Do not purchase insurance with them and hope to God the other party is not insured with them. Extremely difficulty to deal with. Whilst they sound pleasant enough when you talk to them over the phone, all they do is pass you around and delay without giving any solid answers.
Had a car accident and had to spend a week over the phone with them trying to get all the Hire car details sorted. Then when the car was deemed a repairable write off they value your car at less than half the actual market value and give you some rubbish about needing to ...Read more
organise your own salvage. They give you little to no options in negotiating the value/speaking to the assessor, as other insurers typically do and threaten that you will be liable for any cost accrued in delaying settlement, storage etc. They also refuse to let you speak to their complaints department and insist you must wait for them to call you, sometime within 3 weeks!Similar opinion? If you like your car..... insure it with someone else!
I lodged a claim after hitting a kangaroo, after over a month waiting for PD Insurance to approve the assessment from the smash repairers, and after lots of calls following up from me, they denied the claim based on a previous claim I didn't tell them about...…. a no excess payable windscreen repair (I didn't even know this counted as a claim on my history) from my previous insurer. End of the day if you want to have your car covered go with someone else...… this looks to be over a $20 000 mistake on my behalf.

Did not honour the quote to fix damage on my car
My car was in an accident due to no fault on my side. My car was damaged whilst being parked, Police were involved in the incident. Reported to progressive insurance, all repairs authoritied by them. I then proceed to drop my car off to repair and the panel beater informs me progressive insurance is refusing to pay for one part of damage as they felt it wasn’t part of the accident.
Progressive Insurance you had no direct conversation with me about this issue, you authorised and approved all damage to be fixed. You then dishonour and go back on your word. Totally disgusted by this insurances behaviour.
Will not be renewewing my policy with this this insurance organisation who I feel just lie and go back on their word.

I have just paid for car insurance with your company and wanted to ask a question. I don't use twitter and I am concerned your company is a scam as I cannot speak to any one and if I ever have an insurance question how can I speak to anyone. If I don't get a reply quickly I will ring my visacard provider and cancel the transaction

If you log on to PD.com.au and select vehicle, your policy number should be next to the car description
