Does this product work with possums?

Hi Barry, thanks for the question. This product has helped many people with deterring possums from their internal roof cavities. However if you are after a specific product to do this, I would recommend our portable battery operated pest repeller: https://www.pestrol.com.au/buy-online/ultrasonic-pest-repeller-battery-operated/ if you are looking at repelling possums externally then I would suggest our Pestrol Possum Away: https://www.pestrol.com.au/buy-online/possum-repeller/ if you have any other questions, please let me know.

Danielle. One of the pioneers in Australia for this type of pest control products had a pace-maker. He was more than fine. We have sold many units over the years to people with implanted medical devices with no concerns. Thank you for your question. Pestrol Team

I would like to use one of your products in my farm house to control rats and mice. I assume that the ionic, electromagnetic or ultrasonic signals won't affect a mobile phone signal amplifier and wifi which I have in my house, but just wanted to confirm this? Cheers Ken [details removed]

Ken, we have used the products in similar locations with similar requests before with no concerns. However, if for any reason you do find there to be a problem, you can return the unit under our 100 day money back guarantee policy.

Neil and Judith. Hi guys, it is possible the led light has ceased working. I would imagine the unit is still working, however, if you find that you are unsure, we would be more than happy to test the unit for you. Stay in touch and let us know if we can help you at any time.

Hi, I have a two storey home, and can hear some scratching noise in the roof, do I need to get two units, one for each floor or just one unit for upstairs. I never hear or see anything downstairs, just the roof. Thank you

Stephen J.Pestrol

Haydnt, thanks for the message. Ideally, we would recommend 2 units over a two storey home. However, as you have stated, you have only heard the noise in the roof. I would try one unit, to begin with, if you find that the rodents get push downstairs, you may require the second unit if they don't leave your property altogether.

Thanks

Thank you Stephen. Have bought it and looking forward to trying it. I would be happy even if it only reduces the mice as not a big fan in using chemicals.

Haydnt. You are not alone, there are many people out there that are looking for alternatives to chemicals and as such these kinds of products are growing in popularity, thanks for your order, let us know if you have any questions or concerns.

How well do these things work on other pests? We live opposite a bush area and often get large roaches.

1 answer
Pestrol
Stephen J.Pestrol

Stephen, thank you for your question. The product does work on other pests. Primarily we sell them for rats and mice and recommend that it assists with removing cockroaches. The reason we dont make a song and dance about the effectiveness on roaches is that cockroach eggs can lay dormant for many many months before they hatch. So unfortunately you do have to be more patient with removing these insects. The other thing to be mindful is, once you plug this unit in, people will observe many more cockroaches as they come out from the walls and their hiding places. If you have any other questions let us know. Pestrol Team

I want to try this but I'm not sure how many i should get.. it's a small 3 bedroom house, just 1 storey about 200 square metres.

1 answer
Pestrol
Stephen J.Pestrol

Hi Nicki, it will depend on how many electrical circuits you have in your house. 200sqm house might have two, which would mean you would require 2 units. You want to make sure the signal is strong enough to annoy the mice, otherwise, they will go from one part of your house to another one. On two different occasions in two different cars I have had a rat eat the air conditioning filter and make a nest in it. (We live next to a national park). As the filter is obviously in the engine bay would the Vehicle Rodent Repeller work? I note that it can not be placed where water may reach. Thanks.

Stephen J.Pestrol

Bluffy, being in the engine bay the unit will work for you. We have had concerns with customers having issues in the main body of the car, ie leather etc being eaten. However, the vehicle repeller will only work in the engine bay area; the noise will not travel through into the cabin. If you require a unit for your garage area also consider some of our plug in rodent repellers: https://www.pestrol.com.au/pest-control/rats-mice/electronic/

Janice A.asked

First, how many do you need per room. For example, small bedrooms have a lot of furniture like bed dresser nightstand etc will the waves penetrate those pieces of furniture ? in a wide open room how many would you suggest? The Pestrol works on three different types of frequencies? How so? Lastly, where can I purchase theses units for the cheapest price?

1 answer
Pestrol
Stephen J.Pestrol

Janice, thanks for your questions. You are correct that the ultrasonic sounds can't penetrate through larger obstacles like furniture. Our unit has 3 technologies; ultrasonic comes out directly from the unit and will only have an effect in the room that the unit is plugged into. The main technology is the Electromagnetic technology. This sends the pulse through the wiring, therefore it doesn't matter where this is plugged into, as the sounds will travel through the internal walls and ceiling (through the wiring) areas giving out a vibration or sound that the will repel rodents. For an average 1 story home 1 unit should be ok, if you have a larger home we would recommend 2. We do have a promotion at the moment; if you use the code PESTROL10 at checkout you will get 10% off and free delivery.

Hi.. On 29 Dec I asked this:

"Hi. We’ve had two units in a 3 bed home and they’ve been plugged in for a week now and am seeing more mice than usual. Is this normal? How long does it take to work? All lights on both units are working and flashing.. Mice are running right past it. Thanks."

And Pestrol replied that it was normal to see extra activity for 2-3 weeks. It's now Feb 5th and we are still having mice running around overnight and leaving droppings. We're really clean and never leave food scraps anywhere. Is it possible it just won't work here? If so, can I organise my refund/return?

thanks

Hi, will this work on cockroach’s?

1 answer

Stephen J.Pestrol

Hi, Pestrol Rodent Free has been designed to repel rats and mice. The electromagnetic technologies travel through the wires in your wall cavities. So, it also helps significantly with cockroaches as they tend to hide in wall cavities. It will not solve your problem 100%, however, there will be a large reduction. Pestrol Team.

I live in a 2 bedroom townhouse and have rats in my ceiling that are driving me insane. There are 8 townhouses and each unit has a separate ceiling/roof area. I am not the only unit complaining of rats and possums.
Strata sent a pest company to leave 8 boxes of bait around all the units but the rat problem seems to increased in the last 6 months. A friend has recommended your product. In my main bathroom I have a manhole;, he thought if I plugged one of your units into that which is above the floor that it would work for me. I would appreciate your comments.

Stephen J.Pestrol

Hi Katie, Pestrol Rodent Free works through the electrical wiring, so you do not need to have them plugged in roof space, it will be enough for the unit to be placed in a hallway or bedroom and the signal will travel to the roof, providing your ceiling lights are on the same circuits. The signal will only be on the electrical circuit where you have the unit plugged in. You can also have another, different unit, with only Ultrasonic Technology, plugged in the roof. Providing it is an open space, the rats will move to the neighbours. If you would like to discuss this over the phone, please give us a call on 1800 33 88 88. Pestrol Team

Hi Jen,
When the units are installed it is completely normal to see more activity, especially in the first 2 to 3 weeks and mice are trying to find a way out. After that, the activity should decrease, however, if you are still experiencing problems, please give us a call on 1800 33 88 88, alternatively please message us with your contact details and we will contact you. Will Pestrol rodent free control Ghekos?

1 answer
Pestrol
Stephen J.Pestrol

Hi Raj,
The unit is not designed to repel Geckos, however, we have had positive reviews from customers over the years, saying that it has helped them with Geckos. I think that would depend on the type and size of the Geckos in your area. Ultrasonic can be heard by most creatures, and Geckos as well would be able to pick up on the vibrations.

How do I know when our pestrol units in the house need to be replaced ? Greg

Hi Greg,
Providing the lights are still on and flashing on the unit would mean that it is still working. There is no expiration and they will last for years. Best Regards, Pestrol

I have rats under my back deck what do you think, will it help?

1 answer
Pestrol
Stephen J.Pestrol

Hi Wendy,

The Pestrol Rodent Free will probably not be successful in removing them from under your back deck as these are mainly for indoor areas. However, we do have a range of units specifically for outdoor areas available on our website that would be far more suitable to these requirements.
If you ever need any further assistance please don't hesitate to contact us on 1800338888.
Thanks so much.
