Wendy Uasked
I have rats under my back deck what do you think, will it help?
1 answer
Stephen J.Pestrol
Hi Wendy,
The Pestrol Rodent Free will probably not be successful in removing them from under your back deck as these are mainly for indoor areas. However, we do have a range of units specifically for outdoor areas available on our website that would be far more suitable to these requirements.
If you ever need any further assistance please don't hesitate to contact us on 1800338888.
Thanks so much.

Is there any research available on these type of units in relation to the EMF effects on humans?
1 answer
Stephen J.Pestrol
Hi there,
If your question is in relation to Electromagnetic Force than there is no difference between this electrical device and any other electrical device within a home environment.
Hope this helps answer your question.

I only have the green light on should the other two light be on?
1 answer
Stephen J.Pestrol
Hi there,
Are you able to confirm for us that the switch on the side of the unit is all the way down to the bottom? This will turn all aspects of the unit on, if the switch is not engaged then only the green light will come on.
Hopefully this helps you out.

Hi - does one unit deter mice etc as well as fies and cockroaches?
1 answer
The unit didn't deter any rats it cockroaches at all, while it was on after 3 months we caught 3 rats over a week by a $7.95 rat trap, we sent unit back for a refund, we have cockroaches, that's our experience.
Joseyasked
If mice are in the roof, should the appliance be plugged in to an outlet in the roof or just anywhere in the house?
1 answer
Stephen J.Pestrol
Good question and one that we get asked a lot. Due to the way the unit is set up, the product does not need to be plugged into the roof area. You can plug it into any powerpoint, the technology is such that it will send a vibration through the wiring, that is usually in the walls and roof cavities and that will deter the rodents in these areas.

Ericasked
How many do you need for a 4 bedroom home .?
1 answer
Stephen J.Pestrol
Eric, thanks for your question. We would advise 2 units generally for a 4 bedroom home. The reason for this, the larger the home the more circuits you have. As the circuits are isolated from each other, if you plug in the product into once circuit, the technology or sound will only go through that circuit. Therefore it is most likely that the rodents could just move to another location. With regards to positioning, you are best to place them on opposite sides of the home.

barbaraasked
Dear Pestrol, I think I have mice/rats in the roof of my house, but I know I have a possum there, will your unit disturb the possum? I enjoy having possum and wouldn't like to disturb it. It has a nest one a tree.
Barbara
1 answer
Stephen J.Pestrol
Hi Barbara
The Rodent Free has been known to rid Possums in the same way and just as effectively as it does Rodents. It would only remove it from your roof space and would not have any effect on it outside in the tree.
I hope this helps answer your question.
Rickasked
Hi, our daughter has a pet Rabbit which lives inside the house.
What effect will your unit have on a Rabbit?
Cheers
4 answers
Stephen J.Pestrol
Hey Rick,
Because Rabbits are closely related to Rodents there is a chance that it may affect your daughter's bunny. We do offer a full money back guarantee so if you felt the Rabbit was having a reaction you could of course return the unit for a full refund.
If you are in Queensland......the bunny rabbit is iilegal……..from my experience...Pestrol does not deter rodents.....not at my place anyway...rats in the ceiling....get the pest controller....it may work for others......I have no idea......suggest the Rabbit is not in danger......well, not from Pestrol, but the Q'ld Govt. could be the killer....I think this question is a wind up...but happy to go along with the joke....
Gee thanks Lucy for you complete lack of respect for my genuine question. In case you are unaware, QLD is not the centre of the universe and whilst it may still be 1983 there, in other parts of the world, pet domestic rabbits are quite legal and are a fantastic pet.
Now kindly let somebody with actual knowledge answer my question.

Received my units today. I bought 3 could not wait to plug in lol. From what I can make out I think I do not have to have the light on. Is that for me or something to do with the mice?
Cheers
1 answer
Stephen J.Pestrol
Hi there,
Yes, the blue night light is optional and is not required to be on to repel the Rodents from you cavities and open spaces within your home. However, the light does work as an extra deterrent at night time.
I hope this helps answer your question.

Heather Sasked
Are these ok to have around indoor pets such as cats and dogs?
2 answers
Hi Heather I have only had my units in since they arrived yesterday. I am using three. my son has 2 dogs that live inside and also 2 cockateils in the lounge room and they have not reacted or behaved differently. I would think if it was going to affect them it would do straight away.
Stephen J.Pestrol
Dear Heather,
These units should not affect your domestic Pets at all. The only indoor pets it will affect are pets like Mice, Rats, Guinea Pigs and sometimes Rabbits.
Your Cats and Dogs will be totally fine.
Hope this helps!
Mafe Basked
How do I know if is working ? Somethings just the green on or the red light is on flashing, sometimes is the yellow flashing and green on and no red, other times is green on and yellow and red flashing... Please help
2 answers
Stephen J.Pestrol
Hi Mafe, this is a great question!! There are three lights on the unit, the green - is an Ionic technology and will be on most of the time. Yellow - is Ultrasonic and will be flashing at different times, red - is electromagnetic and will also be flashing at different times. This is done specifically so the rats and mice will not get used to the signal. So from what you have described the unit is working perfectly. Thank you
Hi Pestrol
I have asked this question before also, as my red and yellow lights are both flashing at the same time, there is no change in their frequency, unlike what Mafe is saying, hence I wonder whether this unit is faulty.
I still have rat action in my ceiling after I think it's been about 3 weeks .
Can you assist here please.
Peterasked
Forgot to ask when I ordered, do I need to replace them after a certain time? 3,5 years? Thanks
1 answer
Stephen J.Pestrol
Hi Peter, there is no expiration on the units so they can last for a very long time. Providing the lights are flashing on the units, this will indicate that the technologies are still working. The unit comes with 2 years Warranty, however we do anticipate for the units to last 8 - 10 years. Thank you

Hi I have just ordered your Pestrol rodent free and I know it is fine with dogs. My son has 2 Cockatiels in my lounge room and was wandering if it will affect them?
Thanks Ros

Hi there,
It would be very unlikely that these units would affect your pet birds. They should be absolutely fine!
Thanks again!
Hi Thanks for getting back to me so soon :) I am eagerly awaiting my order. Thanks again.
Melanieasked
Hi Pestrol,
I'm currently having issues with rats in my roof and inside my walls. I'm interested in one of these units as the rat is in the wall right beside my bed. However I have no idea of whether or not any damage has been done to the wiring. Would it be dangerous to plug one of these in?
Thanks in advance,
Melanie.
1 answer
Stephen J.Pestrol
Hey Melanie,
There should be no issue whatsoever with plugging this into the wall, in fact usually it removes any Rodent activity within a few days.
Hope this information helps.
Cathasked
There is a dead rodent or possum in our roof. We have not been able to find it. Our roof is flat and about four weeks prior to the smell we could hear scratching just above where the smell was detected. We have not had any visible activity of other pests in the 20 years that we have been in the house. Is it likely that there are more rodents/possums?
2 answers
Stephen J.Pestrol
Hi Cath,
Always hard to tell, usually if there is one rodent there is ten. But it is possible that if it is a Possum then it would have been by itself. If there is no other real evidence then this is the more likely outcome.
Thank you kindly for your response, very helpful.
Tammy Lasked

Angelasked
Hi, I'm not sure if a have mice/rats or possums. How can you tell not ever seeing them as the noises are in the wall downstairs and in wall and roof upstairs? Thank you
1 answer
Stephen J.Pestrol
Angel, that is a great question. Many of our customers have similar concerns to you. More often than not if you can hear noises then they will be rodents. Generally, possums are very loud and it sounds like you are having a party in your own home and you're not invited. As we have a 100-day money back guarantee you can try our product. That will push the rodents away and hopefully, the noises will vanish. If you have any other questions, please let us know.
