I am wanting something to deter dogs and cats from using our front garden and lawn and their toilet. Would Pestrol rodent free also deter dogs and cats?
Many thanks

Our dog whingers to come into the house all the time. So it definitely doesn't bother her.
We have a German Shepherd and the devices don’t bother her at all. Obviously we couldn’t have tried this method of rodent control if they did affect her.
Stephen J.Pestrol
Hi Sophie,
The Pestrol Rodent Free won't have any effect on Dogs. We do have other more specific Animal repellers on our website www.pestrol.com.au which may be more what you are looking for. Please feel free to phone us if you require any further information.
Thanks

Apart from rats . Will it deter garden lizards as there dropping on our verandah?
3 answers
I'm sorry but I don't know as we have no lizard problems.
No idea about lizards sorry, we have now had the rodent free and mosquito exterminator installed for a week and the results are amazing, no mice, where I would have 1 or 2 in the traps each night. Mosquitos appear to be drastically reduced, can even sit outside enjoying a glass of wine in the evening. Still have rats in the roof, can hear them in the morning, but nowhere near as much activity.
Early days but so far have been very impressed with the performance of these products.
Stephen J.Pestrol
Hey Nancy,
Thanks so much for your question - unfortunately, there is no way of guaranteeing that it will have any affect on Lizards. It may reduce them slightly but I don't know if it would get rid of all of them. Rats, Mice...no problems!
Sorry about this.

Second attempt - We bought 4 devices last year and they seemed to be working - however this year they do not appear to be keeping the rodents at bay, which is very disappointing. They are plugged in 24/7 - we live in a Mud Brick 10 roomed house with embedded wiring in Sea Lake in the Mallee - your advice please?

Michele Lasked
Hi there,
From reading the reviews it seems this product is very effective on mice and rats, however not so much on cockroaches.
We have a problem with the little roaches in our kitchen. Have had all cupboards professionally sprayed but they came back. Have tried EVERYTHING, including keeping everything scrupulously clean.
Can you tell me if this will work on these little roaches?
Cheers
Michele

Stephen J.Pestrol
Hey Michele,
Thanks so much for the question. Our unit will work against Cockroaches, however because Roaches fly in through doors and windows and also lay eggs, it can be almost impossible to be rid of them 100%. We understand your frustration! They are almost impossible to deal with! Our unit will definitely help control them and should rid up to 80% of cockroaches that dwell within your property. We have a full money back guarantee to back this claim up.
If you require any further questions answered please don't hesitate to contact us again.

Does it work on lizards? I have several who have decide to visit on a regular basis. I don't want to hurt them, just want them out of my house.

Hey Carmel,
Thanks so much for this question.
We have had hundreds of customers who have informed us that this unit works well against both Lizards and Snakes. However, because the unit has never been officially tested against these species we can't officially say yes or no to this question.
I know this doesn't help you much, however if you decide to purchase one for use against Lizards you will still be protected by the full money back guarantee.
Hope this helps a little.
Cheers,

Judiasked
Does the sound emitted affect dogs?
2 answers
Stephen J.Pestrol
Judi
Thanks for your question.
The unit has multiple settings. One of which is the ability to make it pet safe and turn off the ultrasonic sound that comes out directly from the unit. Some dogs can hear this noise whilst others cant.
If the dog can hear the ultrasonic sound you would notice in the reaction to the sound.
The main technology is the vibration that is sent through the internal wiring. That being said you could place the unit in an area where the dog doesn't go as this vibration will work itself through the internal areas of your home.
I hope that helps.

My unit is situated right beside where my dog sleeps and as far as I can tell she hasn't even noticed its existence......Barry.

We are on a single level house with mice being a problem now for two months. We have 3 pestrol units; 1 in the kitchen (on bench) and the other 2 in the dining room and corridor which are just off the floor. Mice are still appearing in the daytime when we are about. All the gadgets are on 3 flashing lights - the pestrol units have been in place for a week. Have I done something wrong with the height or the level of charge?
1 answer
Hi
I am no expert but cannot fault my units. I have one in a double story house and one in a smallish grain shed.
I have seen no sign of mice after 24 hours of operation. I have both units switched to the bottom position.
I did try the center switch position but was not entirely happy with it.
The position of the units do not appear to be critical as mine is currently in a power point above the kitchen bench.
On another subject you might find of interest. A family of geckos moved in when we built our house and refused to leave,
Even when we had a house fire they remained in situ.
We admire their antics as they run up the walls and upside down on the ceiling however they poo everywhere and that tends
to annoy my wife.
We haven't sighted one since we installed our pestrol unit. Thank you.
Cheers.....Bluebeard.

How successful is your product for deterring possums. I have a Magnoka tree and they eat every bud and all the new growth this time of year. I have tried everything including a fruit net which was successful but an eyesore. Which one of your products do you suggest?
2 answers
Stephen J.Pestrol
Hey Juls,
We have standalone units that are specifically for repelling Possums in outdoor environments. Perfect for protecting trees, gardens, vege patches etc.
It is called the Possum Away! If you would like to know please phone us on 1800 33 88 88 or visit our website www.pestrol.com.au
Thanks so much!
Hi Juls, to be honest, the repellent doesn't work for me at all (possumes just walk pass by every single night), but it's always good to give it a try as they have a 60 days money back guarantee if you can have result in 60 days.

Hi Srilyn, this product doesn't work for possumes, so as the Possume repellents! But you can give it a try. Mine just sit there and possumes having fun around it every single night ;( It's a waste of money for me.
CoolGunSasked
Hi
I have a 12m x 6m steel shed that is fully insulated (roof and walls) and air con/heated. The walls are capped off with plywood and I have run a few extension cords in behind them to give me power in all corners etc. I noticed droppings lately and started baiting but I don't want corpses in the roof smelling out the shed where I can hear them scurrying around on top of the insulation.
There is very little wiring in the roof other than the overhead lights. Will this product be effective for me? Will one unit do the entire shed? Where would I need to locate it?
2 answers
Hi CoolGunS, as I know for one circuit only require one of this repellent. For example, there are 2 seperate circuits in the house I'm living in, one for ground floor and one for first floor. As "Electromagnetic Pest Control utilises the existing wiring within the walls of your home or building by simply sending a pulsing or shifting signal through the wires" (from the official website).
If there are any electric wiring on your roof, the Electromagnetic should go through that as well.
The main thing to make the repellent work is to plug it on the wall socket instead of any extension switches etc...
Hopefully that helps or maybe call Pestrol customer service to get professional answers :)
From their advice, it should be working as I do hear some scratching/chewing like noise sometimes(guess maybe the roof/wall is not thick enough so the noise sounds close by), but not like something running up on the roof (i hope it's really working)
Stephen J.Pestrol
Hey there CoolGunS,
Thanks so much for the message/question!
We believe that the Rodent Free will definitely do the job for you in your shed, because of it's size the amount of wiring is probably negligible. We have units that will do just the open space if you have concerns over the wiring aspect though.
Either way, we will definitely have a product to take care of this problem for you! Please give us a call! 1800 33 88 88.
Cheers!
