Great appliance but needs to be made easier to clean
Great for frozen foods, roast pork and crackling. Also works perfect on sausage. Not great for spring rolls. Haven’t tried baking yet so can’t comment. Removing and cleaning basket is easy. Need to clean after EVERY use as grease that has been caked on will take more effort later to clean. Hard to get into or clean top section where heat comes from so over time you will get a build up of food splatters, grease and oil- this may turn you off using the product as it’s probably a little unhygienic to look at.
Purchased in January 2021 at Target Australia for $199.00.

Great Item
This is a very good product, and I have been using it for half a decade. Produces really great food, and it can cook chips easily, without using too much excess oil, therefore making it a healthier, and a better choice for the body. This air fryer can provide numerous tasks. Overall, great product!

Great product.
I love using the air dryer! I use this nearly everyday! It is fast cooking and the food still tastes great, gets rid of all the oils and fats on the food. I totally recommend this product to people especially with kids and a busy house hold. If you haven’t got one already get one!! You won’t regret it.

One of my favourite kitchen gadgets
We have been using our airfryer since last 2 years and extremely satisfied. It can perfectly fry frozen snacks, homemade chips, chicken fries or whatever fried stuff your heart desires. The model is compact and not very heavy. The only problem I faced while using it is the cleaning afterwards. Hand washing is hard given it has a mesh basket where the crumbs and batters usually get stuck. But if you have a dish washer, the bottom unit alongside the mesh basket can be washed in their. Overall I’m very happy with my airfryer.

I would put this on a pedestal!
I was given this as a gift despite protestations as I didn't want another item in my kitchen gadget graveyard. Turns out it's the best gadget EVER and is God's gift to novice cooks like myself! Oven chips which are soggy are now super crispy done in the fryer and taste like crispy crunchy fried chips but without the oil! Roast potatoes sprayed with oil and sprinkled with rosemary and garlic or curry spices for Bombay potatoes, these are as good as any restaurant roasties! Sausage rolls, chicken tenders, fish fingers - you name it this fryer does it and without the need for lots of oil. To say I didn't want one - now I've got one I aint EVER gonna be without one in future. I would put this on my top number one kitchen gadget EVER!

Love this air fryer
Excellent air fryer. Is easy to clean and works well and is very simple to use. We purchased as a way of surviving our house renovations as we have had no oven for 6 months and it was a great addition to our cooking needs. Cooks chips really well and with some experimenting you can cook lots if things!

Use it everyday.
Love my Philips Air Fryer. Lot quicker than the oven, lot healthier than the deep fryer. Use it to cook chips, hashbrowns, nuggets, spring rolls, pies, grilled tomatoes etc. Not too much you cant put in it. Size was bit small, so purchased an additional shelf, so I can now double up. I do find cleaning it a bit of a chore, but still worth the effort. So much quicker and easier, and no waiting for the oven to reheat first. Wouldn't be without it.

Can't live without it
My husband bought this machine and we love it. Easy to clean and bakes beautifully. You can fit a lot of food into it, it doesn't take long to cook either. Cleaning is easy also. It's not a pretty looking machine, fairly basic really but it does the job. It would be great to have a nice coloured one, ours is just white.

Got it to go with my health regime of no fat. This air fryer is great. I can still enjoy my home cooked french fries etc BUT without the fat. Its great for the kids also. I find it fast, and heats up very quickly. Its a great item to buy healthwise.

Can't go wrong
Never tried one of these up until recently and really impressed with how quickly it cooks the food. We even put frozen meats in there and it is good because it is a lot healthier for the family. Actually haven't really used the oven at all since getting one a few months ago.

Great for small meals!
Bought this air fryer after a friend recommended it. Have had it for a few months now and it performs extremely well. You can basically use it as a mini substitute oven. It performs well with fries, chicken schnitzels, baked fish, put pastries, toast, etc. It is really easy to use and really reduces the oil usage.
Some trial and error required to figure out how long things generally take to cook since you can't really see it cooking but if its not done enough, just pop it back and turn the dial.
Size is the only limitation here. Recommended for one or two people to make really quick meals!

Love it use it all the time
This airfryer cooks all food well. It is very to clean and it is also easy to store. We mostly use it to cook chicken nuggets and chips as this is a favourite for my children. I would defiantly recommend this product for anyone to use. Would never not have one again.

Love this product, used daily in our household !
The Philips Airfryer has become an indispensable product in our household. I don't know how we ever lived without it really. It's so easy to use, the kids can make their own snacks any time. Mostly we use it to make roast potatoes and vegetables, bake frozen fish fillets then add cheese on top for fish burgers, baked beans on toast with grilled cheese, re-heat any fried meats etc. the list is endless really. Anything you can do in an oven, you can do in the air fryer much faster, but on a smaller scale of course. The product I must admit is not...Read more
the easiest to clean. The fine wire mesh basket has too many nooks and crannies for food to get stuck in. After a while grease and food is baked in, it's simply not convenient to clean it every time you use it (and we use it a lot). I have recently purchased an air fryer accessory set that includes a baking pan, grill tray, silicone mat and more. I wish Philips would include these items with the Air Fryer, it would really enhance the customer experience.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Great for 2
My husband and I really like the air fryer! Perfect choice if you love fried stuff but want to avoid too much oil. Amazing for roast as well. However, not really easy to clean. Most of the time we have to soak it. Also, the size is good for 2 people, maybe 3.

Great for a quick meal
Easy to use. Can't use a normal sponge to clean the basket. We use a bottle bush as little fibers are not left behind. Cooking time is awesome. Can cook heaps of different foods like chips, nuggets, cuttlets, snitzels etc. Food come out beautiful and tasty. Only negative is that it doesn't hold enough for a big family. Great for a meal a couple or people. Or if you just want to serve chips for the family.

I love using this fryer since it is a much healthier option than frying in oils and fats. You put in your food item that you want crispy and add about a tablespoon of oil then turn on the machine. Then a few minutes later it comes out supper crisp and delicious.

Fry’s food very well. Just as good as deep fried, though spends a lot of energy and needs to be cleaned regularly in order for it to be clean. It is also a fast and quick way to make food. Makes it easier to make chips, nuggets, fish and more. Perfect for kids

Hi bought the lavender/white air fryer last year, but it broke today because the frying basket fell out of its compartment because it wasn’t able to click into the base properly. The handle of the basket is now cracked and on the verge of breaking, is there any way to fix this?

Hi I have just purchased the model Hd9220/40 for my elderly mother. It did not come with a recipe book, can you tell me the site where I can download a recipe pdf so I can print this off for my mother as she does not have a computer to go the online recipe pages?

Hi Jules, thanks for your question.
What a lovely present to give! No worries, the recipe book could be found over here: http://philips.to/2zXECkU. :) Hopefully this will give your mother some great inspiration on what's possible with the AirFryer.

Mine came with a recipe book but there is a PDF of the book on the Philips New Zealand website:
https://www.philips.co.nz/c-p/HD9220_40/viva-collection-airfryer-with-rapid-air-technology/support
Not sure if the book on the Australian website is the same as the one on the New Zealand website.
However, I also look at airfryer recipe books from Philips websites of other English-speaking countries because they contain some different recipes as well. Generally of you go to the page with the model of air fryer you got there is a link to manuals and downloads that has the recipe books.
