Hi bought the lavender/white air fryer last year, but it broke today because the frying basket fell out of its compartment because it wasn’t able to click into the base properly. The handle of the basket is now cracked and on the verge of breaking, is there any way to fix this?

Hi I have just purchased the model Hd9220/40 for my elderly mother. It did not come with a recipe book, can you tell me the site where I can download a recipe pdf so I can print this off for my mother as she does not have a computer to go the online recipe pages?

Hi that’s strange mine came with a book. Here is a link to some recipes on the Philips website for you. https://www.philips.com.au/c-m-ho/airfryer/recipes

Hi Jules, thanks for your question.
What a lovely present to give! No worries, the recipe book could be found over here: http://philips.to/2zXECkU. :) Hopefully this will give your mother some great inspiration on what's possible with the AirFryer.
Kind regards,
The Philips Australia Team
Mine came with a recipe book but there is a PDF of the book on the Philips New Zealand website:
https://www.philips.co.nz/c-p/HD9220_40/viva-collection-airfryer-with-rapid-air-technology/support
Not sure if the book on the Australian website is the same as the one on the New Zealand website.
However, I also look at airfryer recipe books from Philips websites of other English-speaking countries because they contain some different recipes as well. Generally of you go to the page with the model of air fryer you got there is a link to manuals and downloads that has the recipe books.

Where can I see the Air Fryer in action? I live in Cairns, North Queensland. I want to know how noisy it is?

does the Air Fryer use the same technology as Microwaving? I'm pretty anti-microwaves... That might sound hippy dippy, but I feel better since I don't use it.

Philips S.Philips
Hi there,
Very good question. We can imagine why you ask this. The Airfryer is based on Rapid air technology. There is a hot airflow in the cooking chamber which is caused by a large fan. The hot air circulates around the food and warms it up. You can check out this video for more information:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MSv9IWHCn9E
This is different from a microwave, where wave radiation passes through the food for it to get warm.

I found scratch inside the pan, is this harmful and not healthy?
3 answers
Apparently when I spoke with TVSN about this problem they said it was unhealthy as the toxins from the broken surface was dangerous going into your food.
The scratch is in the Pan which is holding the basket/baking pan.
Philips S.Philips
Hi Ashraf,
All the materials used in the Airfryer are not dangerous for your health. As you mentioned the scratch is on the pan which is holding the baking pan there is no risk of anything coming in the food you are preparing. Should you ever see scratches in the pan where the food goes in, there is still no health risk. If you are doubting however, you can always contact our local team. For Australia you can call: 1300 363 391 and for New Zealand this: 0800 658 224.

Hi could you please tell me, if I can cook directly in the base of the air fryer, without the basket, like for example a casserole, or would I have to purchase the baking accessory? and for the record I absolutely love my little machine, not sure if its economical or not yet though
thank you

Philips S.Philips
Hello, thanks for asking. It is not possible to directly place the casserole on the pan. It is best to purchase the baking pan for the unit for cooking purposes like this one.

Hi. I just bought the airfryer model hd9220/40 (the white one with blue handle). When i try to fry the french fries by setting the timer to 10 minutes, the timer didnt work (doesnt go back to zero and ring, only stay at 10 minutes even though its past over 10 mins already) is the timer broken? For sure, the switch is on and the heating as well, just the timer not working. Is there anyway i can get the airfryer check? (I bought it in australia but already bring it to my home in malaysia). Thanks

Ive had my Phillips Air Fryer for almost 5 years now and it's still going strong. Probably the best gadget the family has ever bought me for Mother's Day. I was wondering if its possible to buy a replacement basket though as mine's a little coated from all the burnt oil etc.?

For the availability of the pan for your unit, your local retailer such as Harvey Norman or The Good Guys should
have the accessory for you, if not available we can assist you in ordering the accessories via our spare parts distributor.

Can I put a baking tin in the draw without using the basket?
2 answers
You probably could, as you can use anything you could put in an oven, but taking it out afterwards might get a bit messy!
Philips S.Philips
Hello there. Never place the baking tin directly in the pan, as this eliminates the airflow in the pan and only the top of the food will be heated. Always place the baking dish in the basket. The baking tin should still leave some space on either side when you place it in the basket to ensure the airflow can pass around it.
