Very good tyre
Got these fitted on my new MQ Triton. Really good tyre on and off road. Not so good in mud as expected. Affects fuel economy quite badly, but it's expected from an at tyre. Wet weather handling is good and dry bitumen is excellent. The sidewalls seem strong as letting air out doesn't result in ballooning sideways.

Good then very bad
I have now had 2 sets of Pirelli Scorpion ATR tyres on my Landrover Discovery 3.
I replaced the 1st set after 58,000 kms which I believed to be a reasonable mileage for this vehicle so without consideration I purchased them again.
I don't know why but the second set have only done 31,000 kms & are already down to the wear bar.
I have had regular wheel alignments & not changed my driving habits, nor have I subjected them to any different conditions, so can only assume that they were produced at a different factory.
Whilst their handling capabilities are very good I could not under any circumstances recommend this tyre & certainly would never consider buying them again.

all good reviews are for a reason!
stock tyres on our 2015 Mazda CX5 kicked the bucket barely doing 40k..
i was after some tyres that can perform in highway but can also take a beating at occasional corrugated roads and came across these in reviews.. convinced so, i bought two pairs but waited for sometime before i recommend them..
they are quiet, that is surprisingly quiet for an All terrain tyre
they look nice
haven't had much chance to test in rough roads, but their condition so far gives me an idea
i tested wet handling and braking.. i was satisfied
we put about 2...Read more

55000km and still going...
Have done 55000km on these tyres, although I have the 265/70x17 LT which may be influencing the high km, however these tyres still have another 10-20000km left in them before they will need replacing, meaning 65-75000km tyre life which I am extremely happy with. Tyre longevity is a big sale item for me and they have mainly done highway driving and some beach work. Only got bogged once in really fine powdery sand but they still pulled me out in reverse so was really happy with their sand performance which I expected being a fairly highway trended AT tyre pattern. Driven once on very rocky off road and showed no signs of any chunks being taken out of them. So impressed I will buy another set when on sale.

Good so far
Recently we have fitted a set of these in our Pajero. They seem to be very soft and I'm not 100% convinced about offroad performance. The only drawback is they are currently made in China not Italy (as were all my motorcycle Pirelli tyres I've owned) So far good grip on and off the road. I will update the mileage as we take them for a real test - a big lap around Australia.

Pirelli Scorpion ATR, a very good tyre.
Fitted a set of Pirelli Scorpion ATR's 265/65/17, last year after previously running Yoko's Geolander ATV, on our NT Pajero and have travelled just under 29,000 klms. First thing we noticed after running Yoko's was just how much quieter these Pirelli's are. On our first outing my wife asked 'what have you done to the truck, it is so quiet!' Their ride is good, handling excellent and at 29,000 clicks including towing an off-road caravan, their wear factor is very good and very even.
If I had to be critical, I think the Yoko's possibly brake a...Read more

Endless Punctures
Ran them at 40 psi towing van and 30 when off road. Replaced 3 as they held stones and when back on black top ground into the tyre. I have had 4 punctures all up one being from road kill. Tired changing tyres on the side of the road so I am changing tyres.

STR also as good
Had both ATR and STR on Landrover Dicsovery II. STR over 100,000km, ATR 80,000km. lot of freeway and 20% unmade road. Had STR Scorpions on Freelander and did 120,000km. Brilliant and gr8 handling. Rotated every 20k. Ran about 36psi
Pirellis on Volvo XC60 not wearing so well - might get 60k out of them

Best ATR tyres I've ever had and best value for money by far!
After 34,500 km I replaced the original Yokahamas on my 2013 Pajero NW GLX-R at with a set of Pirelli Scorpion ATR 265/65/17 purchased from Jax Tyres.
Today at 108,600 km (74,000 km later) I have replaced the Pirelli's with another set exactly the same.
At least 25,000 of these kilometres have been spent lugging 2 tonnes of caravan behind.
Having driven various twin cabs and other 4wd's for the last 40 years, I have got to test out lots of different tyres; Coopers, BF Goodrich, Yokahama, Toyo and Good Year and no other tyres have ever lasted...Read more

5000km and all OK so far
I bought the Pirelli Scorpions after reading the reviews here, and so far I have been very happy. These tyres replaced a set of Mickey Thompsons after 80,000km, so will be interested to see how they go. After 5000km on wet roads and mountain snow in Tasmania, they have stuck to the road without a hint of slipping. No problems on gravel or corrugations, but the ride is a little stiffer than the Mickey T's - I have the LT 225/75 R16, so maybe a less flexible sidewall on the Pirellis?

viewed these in 2016 and now have done 40,000 km on them. Tread depth is 8mm and wear has been even all round. I drive about 2,000km a month on the west coast of Tasmania and have never had them lose grip on the bitumen, despite rain and snow; have had a few interesting moments on tight bends with hard braking but the tyres have never slipped. Tyre pressures at 40-42psi and no leakage. Good road tyre. Off road is a bit different - the tread clogs up easily in mud and traction is not good over wet rock, but I didn’t buy them for off road ability. A good all-weather tyre for on-road use.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!
Great Experience - Highly Recommend Them
Just getting my second set put on today. I insisted on them, even after checking out the DD697s.
Old set are just becoming non-legal, but still driving as safe and super quiet as when new.
Original set were replacements for a disastrous Coopers experiment - which only last one day.
Like most folk, I do 95%+ on-road, and the off-road is mostly sand.
I launch and retrieve a 2-ton 6.5M boat into surf with little problem if you do the right things.
Feel absolutely safe on them in city as well as long trips to Esperance region.
Very positive steering - even with the boat at 110kph.
My LC100 drives like a limmo and I regularly get comments from passengers on how quite it is. ...Read more

Long lasting tyres which can handle rough roads and are not noisy on bitumen.
I fitted Scorpion ATR 235/65 17s after the factory 225/65 Bridgestones were wearing out rapidly at 16,000km. The upsize corrects the speedo reading error, according to my GPS. The first set of Pirellis lasted 65,000km on 95% sealed and 5% stoney dirt roads. The softer Bridgestones would have been cut to hell on the dirt roads outside Alice Springs. These tyres are surprising good off road considering their low noise tread pattern. I run them at 35 PSI unloaded and 40 PSI fully loaded. Excellent on dry roads. You have to take it easy on wet bitumen as they don't like cornering hard in the wet. Braking and take off is fine dry or wet. Overall a very good performance considering the price I paid.

On to my second set
Have just had a full set fitted to our Toyota RAV 4, 2013 model, after having had a set previously fitted to an earlier RAV 4. Very impressed with the first set (Changed from Bridgestone @ 27,000km) so went looking for same as needed new tyres at 40,000 km ( This Time) from new. This time new were Yokohama's. We all know tyres on new cars tend not to last long, better this time than last RAV 4. Cannot fault them .

I replaced my 2008 Scorpion 235/65/17 AT with ATR...what can I say...I prefer the former. They sit full body - a perfect “O“. The ATR sits a little flat...a deflated “O”. Fuel consumption has gone up, perhaps because the tyres are still new after 2k kms and I have to gas them to get them going. Looks wise, prefer AT to ATR....they lhad better looks....overall, a little disappointed.

No brainer to put them on my new ute.
Put these tyres on 2 years ago on a discovery 1. After always having Michelin I was not convinced at the time of purchase. These tyres are awesome. 60000km later and they don't even look worn. On road capability is better than some road tyres. Stick like..... in the wet. Gravel/dirt roads, eats them up, and the tyres don't get chips from the gravel.
Every weekend I have pulled a small boat and some of the boat ramps are just mud on rocks. The scorpions somehow found traction in that and always got me out with ease.
Getting a new ute today. Today it get's new shoes-that's right scorpions.

Good 'ol tyres served me well
These tires came with my 2013 F150 I bought new in November 2012. I am buying four new ones now with 53,000 miles on them. They would probably last another 5,000-10,000 miles but I just want to get new ones. When I first saw these on my F-150 I was surprised. It is a truck and these are Perellis. Didn't seem to "gel." But they did great on our farm where we take the truck off road and up and down very slippery, muddy, snow-covered hills at times. Also over weeds, sticks, brush, etc. I had one puncture that was repaired. I recommend these tires.

Best tyres I've ever had.
By far the best tyres I've ever had, they r excellent on and off the road and last for ages. You get what you pay for and u feel safe.
The tyres are so strong and handle well in the wet, would definitely buy a set of scorpion ATR's next time.

Worn out tread pattern inner and outer edges of tyre within 30K
We fitted 4 of the Scorpion ATR which were more expensive than the other brands and thought would last given the hype they received. We don't do any serious 4wdriving mainly just sand and have only been off road on them a hand full of times. On our last trip to Moreton Island the tread on the front two tyres have worn down on both inside and outside edges [about 2cms on each side of the tyre tread] of the tread and now have to get new ones. we were advised by our mechanic that when the tyres have been at low pressure for sand driving [we onl...Read more
y had at 18psi as had been raining before we went so no real overly soft sand] they have concaved internally so only running on the outside edge of the tyres. Due to the increased weight on just the outside edges they have worn down over just a 4 day period. Haven't had this happen with any other brands that we have had in the past. We are left with the choice of getting two more of the same for just the front or replacing all 4 with another brand.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!
Best set of tyres i have had over 45 years of driving
I purchased 5 Pirelli Scorpion ATR's, 285x70xr17 just on 5 years ago to replace the original tyres on my Landcruiser 100 series from Nedlands Tyre Co, in Nedlands WA.
The original tyres had only done 62,000 kms when I put the new Pirelli's on. Now at 182,000 kms, over 120,000 kms, still estimate another 15,000 kms at least before I need to replace.
They have performed in wet, dirt, sand and any environment, as well as having towed a 3 ton Jayco for over 40,000 kms.
could not fault the performance, however, have religiously rotated all 5 every 10,000kms.
would not hesitate to recommend to anyone for longevity and performance across the board.
Cheers
David Pires
