Awesome Tyres
I bought a brand new Triton GLX-R in 2010, I do approximately 40klm'snper annum, after two years the OEM were replaced with these tyres, I have covered nearly 110,000klm's with still another 10,000 klm's to go, I towed a 3500kg boat and have done some serious off road and never ever did they fail me.
They would be the best A/T tyre I have had in the last 22 years that I have owned from a Discovery, Cayenne and now the Triton. On the road and in the wet they grip like a high performance tyre.
Recommend them to anyone.

Finally replace my HT
Went to bob Jane wondering to replace my currently horrible HT tyres of triton. Even sales push me to buy AT697, however I still going with this tyres.
After test on road, which is really aerowsome, even quiter than my HT, always can be stick on the road, give me more confidence to steering with high speed. Very good performance on road.
Off road, I only test in the national park, which is good as well, not like sales said, At697 will much better, gerenally speaking I did not feel this tyres are lower performance than At 697.

e to test on the sand, will absolutely do it before this new year time. I believe won't let me down. At the begging still struggle which tyres I should go with, however after test, I total trust my choice to go with ATR. Geart stuff...1 comment

I would buy again, these tyres worked well for me
Put 5 new Scorpions on my 2012 Pajero NW after the original tyres lasted 45K to my great disgust. Sold the Vehicle at 116k, still tread left for a possible 5K or more. Towed a 1700Kg caravan for at least 20K during their use and a small amount of Off road. Never had a problem with the tyres breaking traction and they were quiet in use. Purchased at Kmart, cheapest quote, and all the tyres were rotated at 10K intervals for free by Kmart, part of their service. Ran the tyres between 35-40 psi and had good fuel consumption.

Worst Tire Ever
Absolute worst tire I have ever driven on!! Will never own another set!! When it's cold outside they shake & jar everything & everyone to death! The only reason I've had them this long is because I am waiting on them to wear out!! Also a very noisy tire, they cup up very bad. I have had them rotated, balanced & everything else!! Save your hard earned money!!

Very good tyre for all round use.
I have had 3 sets of Pirelli Scorpion ATR LT 265/75/16, first set was on a Jeep Wrangler and now i'm one my second set on my current Triton ute that has a hydraulic tail lifter fitted and is used as an express courier vehicle travelling over 4,500 km's on some trips to mines and power stations etc and on all types of roads and tracks, I also tow my caravan with this vehicle. I have 85,000 km's on the current set (with 5,000 to 10,000 km's still to go) they've been continually rotated at approx 15,000 to 20,000 km's and I have never had a problem with the handling, braking or carrying heavy loads on all roads and tracks, wet or dry.

Cant wait to take them off
Yes, the walls are pathetic. I got a pinhole puncture virtually from the get go, took 6weeks initially to deflate, nowadays requires a weekly pump. Went back to Bob Jane, they got the Pirelli rep, they found the hole after about 60min, then rep said "no, this is not covered", notwithstanding that it would have been like that at purchase given the deflation cycle.
Now have 70K, still good for more, but taking them off today in time for EOFY, it is a quiet tyre with good traction in wet, but it is very poor off road.

Did you actually buy an ATR?
Chris2927 comments on the high speed rating, but the ATRs have a T (190k) rating, not a W (270 or higher) his tyres sound more like a verde / all seasons??? makes sense on the merc.
My second set of ATRs in 265/65/17 have now done 50K but I only rotated 4 of them not the spare (which is still full tread - no punctures) they have about another 10K at least but the side bars are worn down and they were slipping around recently in the wet dirt at the top of Lake Eucumbene while fishing the Brown trout run. As I will be doing the northern Flinde...Read more

The worst tyres have ever bought
I bought two Scorpions for my GL 320 and fitted them to the front of the vehicle to match recently fitted Scorpions on the back. One of them wouldn't balance. I took them back to the retailer twice to try and get them balanced. Ended up replacing them with Michelins. The rear pair soon began to get excessive wear to the centres of the tread pattern. I was running them at 4lbs when warm, over the recommended pressure. By the the time they were half worn the road noise had me believing a bearing had failed. I contacted Pirelli, and was asked by...Read more
them to take them to a particular tyre dealer to have a look at them. The dealer gave the vehicle a wheel alignment. The left hand rear wheel was 3 degrees out. I heard nothing more. I threw the tyres away and fitted Michelins. I ran Land Rovers for decades on Michelins, got fantastic milage and no road noise. These Pirellis are supposed to be developed by Pirelli with input by Mercedes. They are too soft and lack structural support to hold the tyre shape. They are useless on dirt roads as they easily puncture and they are noisy.1 comment
Why are tyres developed with 240 or 270 kph speed rating for a 4 wheel drive in Australia.....
why not something with a stronger core so the vehicles full potential can be exploited.

Maybe Inferier to other brands
I purchased four new Pirelli ATR tyres from Jax Tyres for my 4x4, replacing the Bridgstone Duelers that had done 85000k. Against my better judgement. I travel to work once a week 300kms on country roads with about 50k of that on unsealed road. After about 4000k the wall of the rear tyre bulged and burst without warning. As in other comments here this seems to be rather common. I went back to Jax where I live but their store has closed down. I Emailed Jax head office, They replied that I will soon be contacted. But as yet no one has.
I think ...Read more

Best All Round Utility Tyres I have owned
I have a late model Hilux and started off with Cooper tyres on 17" wheels. They were OK at the start but turned dangerous especially in the wet. I had no traction via the back unless I had a load. Came across the Pirelli Scorpion ATR's and read some great reviews which gave them a big wrap. Wow, what a change, they are quiet, they steer perfectly and the traction was the best I'd had, so I expected they wouldn't wear too well. Wrong, my Lux has done 240K now and I'm on my second set. Never had a puncture, maybe I'm lucky but I know my tyres and these are good, Cheaper than you think if you ring around.

Great tyre: reliable, good handling and wear
I had these fitted to my Triton and have clocked over 110,000km's...and still going. Some 4x4 driving (performed well) but mostly bitumen. Excellent!

Never go back
I do about 50-60k Kim's per year to and from work, mostly on bitumen, driving a 120 series Prado. Went for the Pirelli Scorpions and am just about to get my second set after 112,000kms. Quiet on the road, never punctured. Did a wet weather brake test in them last week as the tread is getting to the end, and they performed fine, on their death bed. Very happy with them.....112k !!!

If only Pirelli supported their customers
Whilst the ATR is a good tyre when the walls go they let go quickly. Can not get a replacement tyre anywhere, so forced use a random make for the next 8 weeks (not good for caravanning).

Jeep Cherokee with 235/75/15
I'd come from Cooper ATR of the same size to these. The Coopers rubbed a bit at full turn lock (stock size is 225/70r/15, so these are one size bigger), but the Pirellis don't. Very quiet ride. Great on wet and dry paved roads, dirt roads, and beach sand. I haven't had to reduce tyre pressure for beach sand, and often did with the Coopers. Not as good as the Coopers for Rocks and heavy 4x4 use, but that's not what the Pirellis are designed for either. After 20,000kms I see no wear at all on them (95% paved roads, 5% sand and graded roads). I go...Read more
t 70,000kms from the Coopers. The Pirellis look like they'll go a bit further. Very happy with the purchase and would recommend them for Jeeps which spend most time on paved roads or beach sand. I purchased these online from Tempe Tyre. They were $70 apiece cheaper than the Coopers (purchased in 2004) and also $60 cheaper than the local shops after shipping. Cost $60 to have them mounted and balanced locally. Still saved $180 from buying locally. Quiet, durable, perform well on wet and dry paved roads and beach sand. Not as good for heavy 4x4 use on rocks and rough terrainSimilar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Very Impressed with Pirelli Scorpion ATR
I replaced the original Goodyear Wranglers at 60K on my 2010 Navara STX with 265/70R17. These tyres are not only quiet on the highway but performed really well on the beach. The two bonus points on the Navara are I gained 20mm extra in height as the tyre is 40mm bigger in diameter than the original and this also corrected the speedo.
Even with uneven off road work I have not had any issues with scrubbing or touching while turning.
Quite, Good off road, Lifted vehicle, Corrected Speedo

Too many punctures
I drive a Suzuki Grand Vitara and have had the Scorpion tyres for about a year and about 25%of my driving is on maintained dirt roads. I have had three punctures mostly with sticks. I keep my pressures at or slightly below manufacturers recommended. I will be replacing with a different brand.
Low noise.
Too many punctures.

Graet on Jeep
Brought 2013 for Jeep Cherokee the improvement from OME was amazing, quite, better handling. Have done 50000km and will replace in next couple of months, only because i change every 18 months for reliability.
off road was good for an ATR and on road is as good as if not better than any road tire i have used on a 4wd
Life, handling, quiteness

Pleasant Surprise
I have a 100 series Landcruiser. I travel extensively for work, clock up around 45-50kms per annum. Plus there are the weekend trips, mostly camping and fishing. I have not modified the cruiser, nor go rock climbing or really challenge the car in harsh environments. Just travel along roads, some gravel and sand, and the odd corrugated surface.
I am not a tyre expert and I can understand the confusion when assessing and reviewing tyres. For every positive review there seems to be a sharply opposite negative review. That applies for every brand ...Read more

Recently one tyre sidewall demaged due to after off road few times:(
Possibly it's not designed for heavy-duty off road but good on sand and high way.
