Thank you to the amazing staff
We were lucky enough to cruise Japan for the second time on the Diamond which was fantastic. I would just like to say a huge thank you to the staff in the the Vivaldi restaurant. Firstly our waiter and assistant Ulyses Berdan and Pastor Ramirez Jr. looked after us all fantastic. Nothing was ever a bother. We were on table 161 3rd July-19th july. Also head waiter Mario Toledo and F and B supervisor Mark Sapitanan. They’re really all were amazing so much fun with them every night. Also a special mention to Anthony Llorador who we met last year ha...Read more

Amazing ship sailing around Japan
We did this cruise around Japan called the flower cruise. It was fantadtic and sure enough the cherry blossoms were in full bloom. The cruise was fantastic. Our cabin was a good size, we had the port hole obstructed to try it out although port holes are not worth it as the windows are so dirty with salt spray. I would go balcony if you can afford it and if you spend alot of time in cabin. The tours from the ship were all fantastic and all had English speaking guides but make sure you book the tours where it says English Speaking Guide. The food on the ship is incredible and the entertainment were spectacular. It really is like a city on a ship, it was a very good holiday. Highly recommended!

No air conditioning in cabin for 11 nights 10 days,
Christmas cruise fron hell. No air con, only boiling water in shower, took 4 days to fix. Air con was not fixed.. Two serious counts of failure in DUTY of CARE.

Beautiful Ship, Fantastic Holiday.
We have Cruised on other Princess Ship but loved the Diamond Princess while she is not the newest she have a very nice feel about her We Cruised from Japan to Sydney on her 22 Nights.
The staff looked after our every need, Food was yummy and lots of onboard activities if thats what you are looking for, I preferred to lay by the pools and used the Sanctuary and Japanese Bath House onboard this is a fantastic place.
Will definitely Cruise with them again.

I prefer Princess Cruising
We Boarded the Diamond Princess in Yokohama ( be aware that Yokohama is about an hour south of Tokyo). The Yokohama port is lovely however be aware that the boarding process is different and caused a bit of confusion for most of us as there is little signage inside. They give you a number and you sit and wait - but that's before you clear immigration (not after) - once your paperwork is done you get straight on.
We always get a balcony cabin and again I wasn't disappointed. We went on an 8 day Cruise around the northern island of Japan (Hok...Read more
kaido) and into Korsakov in Russia. The staff were great as usual. The meals were great and the ship is really nice but I found the entertainment on this Cruise below standard for Princess Cruising. It was very disappointing and boring. A lot of dancing and shows were either pre-recorded music or on the big screen. None of the tribute music shows etc. Disembarkation ran very smoothly (much better than the Embarkation)Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Disappointed in service
We went on a cruise for the first time for our honeymoon around Japan.
The cruise was late by two days due to a storm so it cost us another nights accommodation in Tokyo.
Then there was another storm so we basically never made landfall and didn't get to see much of Japan at all.
During the cruise the air in our cabin was so stale and recycled I got a sinus infection and had to pay a ridiculous amount of money to see the onboard doctor.
We didn't get any sleep at all on the worst nights as it was so rough it was like someone was at the end...Read more

diamond princess - 10 nights cruise around Japan
I will just say okay. The entertainment programme at night is poor. Staffs offered quite good service sometimes. To compare with other cruises I have been, I must say I am a bit disappointed .

Princess is excellent
I tend to book online direct with Princess Cruises as I prefer to do it direct rather than through an agent. My first cruise I had no idea what to expect but I loved every minute of it. Same with the second cruise, and now my third and fourth are booked. I'm always impressed with Princess. Only thing that could change would be the internet at sea prices. They should be slightly lower. Other than that I highly recommend them.

Disgrace to call it 5 Star
Booked in November 2016 for our "dream cruise" to South Eat Asia", 16-17 March 2017 on Diamond Princess. Booked a balcony suite, got ocean view with obstructed view. In liueu we got US1,000.00 onboard credit, plus the travel agent refunded price difference. Only found this out two days prior to departure, so not much we could do. We're promised that we would be first cab off the rank if there were any cancellations. Never happened. This was our 4th cruise, second with Princes and they have no hope of seeing us again. Only good thing say to abou...Read more
t it was that the staff were fantastic. Food was mediocre, ship was in a rundown state (went in for a refit after voyage), entertainment average. I reckon about one third of the passengers were sick. Everywhere we went on the ship people were coughing and spluttering. I caught the bug (some were saying that it was Influenza A), but naturally the hierarchy kept "mum" about the whole thing. My trip to medical cost me US$281.00. Okay, I was insured, but why should I have to pay for something that I contracted onboard. I spoke with many other passengers, two that were hospitalised overnight, regarding the amount of sick people onboard. Our previous trip with Princess was to New Zealand on the Dawn Princess and it was fantastic. However, this was an absolute disgrace.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

All aboard the Great money Machine
We requested an unobstructed view but Princess's idea of that wasn't the same as ours apparently steel girders are acceptable !!!??? the booking process would have been great if we got what we asked for (clear view) overall we were dissapointed with the Diamond it just wasn't as good as we were led to believe, the food have to say was just average with one meal sent back as it wasn't cooked properly (raw) please be aware they will charge you a gratuities fee which is about $13.50 a day unless YOU tell them not to (outrageous) also be aware that...Read more
when you go to pay the final bill it's in U.S. $'s not aussie which means you have another 30% on top of the stated bill very mean company really only interested in your money ie $2 (U.S.)for a small bottle of water which should be free, alcohol charged at shore prices which should be duty free, sot drinks which should be free they will do you a "favor" by letting you buy a soft drink card for $50 !!! this was our second cruise and there wont be another on the Diamond for sure, a mean money grabbing mob that will screw you at any and every opportunity.Similar opinion? Diamond princess departed Sydney 23/1/2016
There were 8 of us on this cruise and it could not of been better. When people get sick there is a procedure to follow and the crew followed it to the best of their ability. It's a shame that some of the sick passengers did the wrong thing. This was our 2nd princess cruise and will defiantly be back.

Pathetic
The lowly rated staff were nothing but friendly and helpful but the Captain and his cronies were the rudest, most critical people around. Never ever will I cruise on this Puss box again, "Diamond Princess" is NOT more like cesspit Troll.

Diamond Princess 11 Jan 2016 to 23 Jan 2016
First cruise of a life time to New Zealand with Diamond Princess was enjoyable one, we went in a group of 6 and we were on Deck 10 Coribe C246 C249 C254 and the services were great, food and drink were inexpensive. The good thing about the Diamond Princess Cruise was the only cruise ship to accept an Australian currency on purchasing, not the US Currency. Now we are looking forward for our next cruise to South East Asia with the Princess. I love Pure Blond Beer only $5 Australian dollar.

Diamond Princess
Having read a few negative previous reviews, I was a little hesitant but having just returned from our cruise to Hobart I must say I was suitably impressed by this ship. They were strict in enforcing hand sanitisation in the dining areas and I really appreciated this. The service was impressive and of course our Cabin Steward, Rechie, was prompt and efficient. Our room was clean and tidy and the bathroom while small was indeed spotlessly clean. We attended the Spa for a foot and leg massage and the Japanese hostesses were so friendly and very ...Read more
good at their job. The food was fine - there were enough choices - especially with a pizza bar and hamburger/hot dog bar. Movies under the Stars was an experience. Always plenty of seats and blankets supplied (popcorn and ice cream offered by the friendly wait staff) though the movie choices could have been a little better. That said, there were many choices on the in house TV as far as movies went. Princess do charge more for their excursions though I do not have a problem with this. The more you pay the more you get (as a general rule). Embarkation not too slow and disembark was a breeze. Our overall cruise was very enjoyable. The ship seems to be very well looked after and we would cruise with Princess again. Well done to the crew and staff!Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

My experience on Diamond Princess
I found The Diamond Princess very disappointing. I will personally never go on that ship ever again. It certainly wasn't clean enough I found some of the knives and forks still had food on it. I know that can be dishwasher sometimes but still not too good. I also ended up sick, I wanted to see the doctor the nurses turned me away, they made some stupid excuse why I couldn't see him, and when I turned away they laughed at me. This is not right. My eye was very sore and I wasn't too well. Okay I got eye drops at the store but I should've been all...Read more
owed to see the doctor and they shouldn't laughed at me. Plus I had health insurance, the day I arrived back in Australia I had a terrible sore throat I ended up with a terrible infection. Most of the crew I found were very rude, apart from some who were very nice. The service was very poorly. The Dawn Princess was a lot better, the crew were a lot friendlier and more helpful and the ship was more spotless, oh and at least you can see a doctor on the Dawn Princess. However after being on the Diamond Princess it's put me off going on any of the Princess Cruises again. They also lack with their excursions and transfer from the airport to the port, you have to wait around for ages and it's not organised very well. I have done some fair traveling and this last trip was the worst and it's not because I got sick I am more angry with the service, even my cabin [name removed] was not helpful at all, not good enough.Similar opinion? Diamond Princess Oct 12th Sth Pacific
I've cruised 5 times with Princess and all were excellent until Oct 2015 on the diamond. Ship not kept clean enough remember this is a much bigger ship than Dawn. We were sick for the last 5 days if cruise and only recovered 2nd week in DEC. So I know you had a nice time and that's great but if you came down with this virus you wouldn't think people were whingers believe me. I know how Princess was before and there not that now. OK please be considerate of others.

Wonderful Diamond Princess Nov/Dec 2015 cruise
We've read what the whingers have to say. Well our S Pacific cuise was superb. Simply cannot fault staff, food, accomodation, information and assistance. Entertainment wasn't my style but others loved it. Restaurants were excellent and many passengers agreed with all the above. Of Course there were some incredibly rude low IQ passengers, but these fools will never change. Our first cruise and we loved it!! They STRICTLY enforced dining hand washing --- well done!

Questions & Answers
Oscar Tameasked
is it value for money?
2 answers
Hi oscar- yes i have 100% faith in princess cruise ships as my wife and i have done 9 cruises with them and i can honestly vouch that they have incredible ships and give incredible service.
Some people have obviously been lucky. My time with Princess cruise ships has been anything but 'incredibly' good. Service was terrible, drinks costs were exorbitant (and slow for service); passenger service people were exceedingly rude; food in the 'mess hall' would not even have been acceptable in a mining camp; powerful sewage smells floated throughout the ship at all hours; toilet leaked; dinind arrangements were difficult to make; booking services operated on hours that staff wanted to do some work; entertainment was conducted by very (obviously) bored staff; music was great for the first 5 days and then started on the re-run mode etc etc.
I'll NEVER cruise with princess again!

Recently booked diamond princess for December 2018 from Singapore cabin price dropped $1400 enquired about refare answer No as I booked under balcony bonanza not current promo. So I think upgrade to balcony ($400) as per promo sorry no balconies available. Next option upgrade to ocean view cost $1540 I would be paying $8700 for a cabin advertised at $7095 a no win situation for me.as an elite member I feel at a disadvantage as I booked early and have only ever sailed with this cruise group since 1986. So I ask has anyone experienced this type of response and if so where is princess cruises loyalty to its passengers when anyone can walk in from the street and get better deals?
1 answer
No, they wouldn't. Princess is resting on its' laurels, thinking they now have a captive audience - especially with the 'elitist' style class syetm they've introduced. Many passengers on my last cruise with them (emphasise: LAST) were upset that they had all paid the same fares, yet some people were obviously receiving favoured treatment. Most 'responses' from princess cruise people are simply following the party line. Passengers are NOT permitted to have a problem - and if they do, then it must be the fault of the passenger in the first place. What a mob of .....
