We have four dogs that like to lay on the couch with us and they are constantly licking the couch and licking their paws...they sometimes Mark the couch when we are not there so we are looking for a fabric protectant that is non toxic to our dogs... Scotchgard claims that its safe once it dries but we are concerned that when they lick the couch and get it wet with their tongue it will reactivate the chemicals and hurt them... what kind of feedback can you give us on your product?

Hi Patt, sorry for the delayed reply. protectME is non toxic and safe for your pets. It is water based and does not contain PFAS or any other toxic chemicals you may find in other mainstream fabric protectors. So you should be fine applying it to your couch and letting them on the couch once the coating is fully cured (12 hours). We hope this helps!

Nicole

Hi, just wondering how much I would need for a 6 seater couch? Would 750ml be enough?

1 answer

Dan L.ProtectMe

Hi Nicole,
We recommend an application rate of 100ml per square meter of fabric.
For a 6 seater the 750ml would not be enough, we would recommend either the 2 Litre + 750ml or the 5L depending on the amount of fabric that is to be treated.

Hi Tahlia,
Thank you for your question.
protectME can be use on carpets and rugs. As most carpets are quite thick we recommend applying 180-200 ml per square meter.
The coating will last 2-3 years on most materials and areas, the areas with most traffic will require re application after 2 years.
We hope this information has been of assistance.

Hi Kerrie, thanks for your message. We are not aware of any previous customers with this condition having used the product.
However, we have had people comment that they are not able to use other well known fabric protectors due to the chemical content but have had no problem using protectME. We recommend that you check our Ingredients page for more information. We hope this helps!

Does this spray change the texture of the fabric I’m spraying? Can I tell there is something there, like a residue?

1 answer
ProtectMe
Dan L.ProtectMe

Hi Janeymac,
Thank you for you enquiry.
Once the protectME coating has cured (after 12-24hours) you will not see or feel any difference to the fabric surface.
If the fabric you are treating has texture or nap then it is recommended to use a small brush straight after spraying the surface to ensure that the coating has been applied every and gets absorbed properly. The brush is also a great way to raise the nap again after treatment.

Calvin

Would this be suitable for application to a textile convertible roof? Has it been trialled for outdoor weather and UV (Australian conditions) resistance? Is there an MSDS available from the German manufacturer? If it is suitable for cars this would be another excellent market opportunity. Thanks.

Dan L.ProtectMe

Hi Calvin, Thank you for your enquiry. Yes, protectME can be used on convertible car roofs to repel water and dirt. The coating is UV stable so compared to many chemical based products it will not deteriorate under the Australian sun. As we are unable to attache files on ieatwords.com.au we would appreciate if you could send us an email to [email protected] and we would of course be happy to send you the SDS.

Hi Calvin, there is no reason why the product would not be suitable for convertible roof as it works well on outdoor furniture, shoes, cloths etc . As far as the MSDS which a short time ago was shortened to SDS must be supplied on request by law on products they sell.

Hi Nabs,

Thank you for your enquiry.
urineFREE is specifically formulated to work on urine stains and odours and we only guarantee UrineFree on urine odours and stains.
However, we do have a lot of customer feedback that the product also works fantastic on other stains such as coffee, tea, red wine and vomit.

Hi there, I just wondered if this has been tested with red wine, and if so, how much time you have to wipe off before it sinks in? I have an air b and b property and keen to use it on the couch!
Thanks,
Katherine

Dan L.ProtectMe

Hi Kathrine,

Anodotal information tells us that UrineFree works on red wine, bile, vomit and faeces stains however we don't guarantee UrineFree not these purposes.
We only guarantee UrineFree for urine removal. The application is to saturate the stain with UrineFree allowing it to air dry. Once dry use a damp cloth
to wipe away the residue from the biological activity. Old stains may take two three treatments to get it all.

If you want to protect your soft furnishing, we suggest you look at www.protectmetextiles.com.au . ProtectMe is a fabric protector using nanotechnology
that can be applied yourself and prevent the wine stains in the future.

We hope this information is of assistance

Kind regards

How long does it take to dry if sprayed in from a bottle on carpet and do you have to protect other surfaces to stop them from getting the product onto them?

1 answer
ProtectMe
Dan L.ProtectMe

Hi Zita,
Once your carpet has been treated with protectME the surface will be dry to touch after 3-4 hours. Please note that the coating will require a 24 hour curing period before testing the effects. As the protectME Textiles product is specifically designed for fabric and textiles it is recommended that any excess overspray is wiped with paper towelling after application to avoid the product drying on hard surfaces like painted/lacquered areas.
We hope this information has been of assistance.
Kind Regards

I'd like to use the PROTECTME TEXTILE 750 ml to spray the front and rear seats of my Honda HR-V 2018 car. How many spray bottles do I need and where can I buy it in Brisbane?

Asad
Asad

I guess, online/website is the only way to order ProtectMe textile products. Per my experience, for your Honda HR-V, 750ml might not be enough. Assuming, you already got the battery operated pump, my suggestion would be to order two of 750ml OR one 2-litre container. You can also contact them for precise advice via their website. Dan Lassen will happily help you out.

ProtectMe
Dan L.ProtectMe

Hi Benny,
Thank you for your enquiry. As Asad mentioned in his post online is the way to order protectME. Orders placed prior to 10am are processed the same day.
To treat the surfaces in your car we would recommend the 750ml dual pack or alternatively the 2L pack.
If you need any further advise please feel free to contact me on 03 93180996.

Hi Kassi,
Thank you for your enquiry.
protectME comes ready to use and on standard upholstery fabrics the application rate is around 100ml per square meter of fabric.
Depending on the amount of fabric on your lounge and if you are also planning to treat the back of the cushions, we recommend getting the 2x750ml pack.

Can it be used on Rugs?

Dan L.ProtectMe

Hi Mike,
urineFREE can be used to remove urine from your rugs, but you should first test colourfastness on a few small or hidden area, as many rugs are coloured with vegetable dyes which are not colourfast. If colours do not run, it is safe to use urineFREE to remove urine from your rug.

JN72
JN72

Hi Mike, I cannot see why not. Depending on the rug it may just require additional coats by to the fabric.

Can ProtectMe, be used on "Future fabric" covered lounge?

1 answer
ProtectMe
Dan L.ProtectMe

Hi,

Thank you for your enquiry.

protectME can be used on cotton, suede, leather, synthetic, wool and silk. We have done extensive testing on all these surfaces to ensure that our product performs to our customers satisfaction.
With "Future Fabric" (Aka "Skai" Fabric) its a little harder as some of ones we have seen have had a poly-urethane coating over the top making it hard for our coating to fully adhere. We have however, had some customers that have had success using protectME on this type of material.

If you decide to purchase then we would suggest testing the product in an inconspicuous area to see if the coating performs to your expectations. If it doesn't after the test then please contact us immediately and we can arrange for the product to be returned and a money back refund.
