Purchased 1500w Protege sump pump November 2022 from Kogan died after a couple week of use, i won't be bothering to get another one stick to Onga I think, shame they don't put a little extra in these as they look like a well made pump.

Purchased in November 2021 at Kogan for A$88.30.

Protege water pump and service rubbish!!!

published

Purchased in June 2021 at eBay.

Terrible pump don't waste your money. Failed in less than 12 months being used for an envirocycle septic system pumping filtered effluent dirty water. Edisons refuse to honor warranty telling me its not intended for purpose - lie as a licensed plumber has looked at the pump and confirms this pumpb is suitable for purpose. Proof of purchase is available on request

Cheap Pump only good for occasional use!

published

Purchased two of these Protege Pumps to pump rain run off water about 2m.
One lasted 4 months with probably less than 100 hours running. It was replaced under warranty.
The second failed 2 months later, again with only a few hundred hours use. Not long after that, the replacement unit failed.
Three failures in less than 6 months.
The supplier 'Edisons' refunded the original purchase price.
Independent investigation of the last failure revealed that the mechanical seal had failed.
These Pumps may be ok as a standby unit, or to use once in a while, but don't expect them to last hundreds of hours.
The pumps are rubbish, but I have no complaint with the service from Edisons.
