My kids love it and we couldn't live without it!
We just had our filters changed and could not be happier, LOVE the water. My little man will simply not drink anything else.12 years later and we still love our Puratap. After reading so many articles on Adelaide tap water, I am so happy that I invested in a Puratap before my kids arrived. Spending that little bit extra each year on my filter system is so worth it. As a parent I want my kids to have a healthy start to life and I know that having them drink chemical free water along with a healthy diet is the key. Thank you Puratap I wouldn't invest anywhere else!!

I'd never recommend Puratap to anyone
I had a Puratap for about 3 years. I found them to be one of the most pushy and annoying companies I have ever dealt with. The problem is they do not use industry standard thread filters. This means you are locked in to continually purchasing Puratap filters, rather than source cheaper/better/different filters anywhere else (Hardware stores, supermarkets, myriad of online shops etc). To make matters worse, you must 'book' a puratap plumber to come out and change your filters. This is ridiculous. A filter change takes literally 30 seconds - turn...
Read more tap off, screw the old one off, screw the new one on, turn tap on. An imbecile can do it. Puratap will phone you each year and harrass you to book a plumber for a filter change. If you decline, they will continue to phone you...and continue...and continue.... They will try to scare you into thinking you will come down with some terrible disease due to a biofilm build up as if we're filtering Mumbai slum water. The chance of that is miniscule however Puratap leverage it for marketing. Highlight a scary problem then offer a solution. Long story short. I eventually ripped out my puratap and purchased a new filter tap online from a Tasmanian company. It arrived in a box with easy instructions and I installed it myself in under 40 minutes, all I needed was a spanner. Now I buy my own filters on my own terms and change them myself hassle free. Hats off to them for their superb marketing. They really know how to catch a sucker.Hi Mooner,

Pushy Pushy! Follow on from previous review.
** Update** 7 years on and I'm loving the unit I got from bunnings- My Mum and many neighbours have gotten the same unit, and everyone is loving not having to deal with puratap. Another review mentioned the less than savoury practice of changing filters in the van... puratap's answer was on the lines of needing access to 'tensioning equipment' - what? A filter wrench? There's nothing you need that can't be brought into the house, surely. If so there's more wrong here than I thought! ** End update**
I went out and bought a different system today...

Filter taps are essential in South Australia. What annoys me is puratap seem to call me a month earlier each year wanting to come and change the filters. I think it's so they eventually get extra money! Eg. 1st had them changed in January, then it was December, and I just got called tonight & they want to come next week!! I've put it off until late October, apparently I'm getting some special price - filters only...
Hi Michimet, thank you for taking the time to write your review and providing us with some valuable feedback. The special price is the loyalty program which is a genuine discount from the retail price...
Read more of the filter. We offer this to customers who get their filters changed annually and this is one of the reasons we call you a few weeks before the date you had them changed the year before. The other reason is that the life of the filters is maximum 12 months. This means that if we waited until the same date you had the filter changed the year before to call, we would be leaving you with a period of time where we couldn't guarantee the quality of your water - which obviously is the last thing we want! We can see from your review though that we haven't explained that properly and it has given a bad impression so we are genuinely sorry for that. Thank you again for the feedback and please let us know if you have any other questions.Find out how Puratap compares to other Appliance Brands

Very happy with it
We have one in our house and we bought it cos there one one in the last house we were renting and we ended up really relying on it! It is convenient and the water tastes good (well, it tastes like actual water, unlike the junk that comes out of our tap!). We have the squarish shaped mixer tap and it looks good. Have not found calls for filter changes a problem - they are always polite and we wouldn't remember otherwise.
Would definitely recommend it.
Hi Sesamesnap, thank you for taking the time write your great review. It's wonderful to hear that you love your tap. We love the industry tap - or squarish shaped mixer tap ;) - too!
Great unit
We've had some other water filter things before but they are such a pain. Had to change them bloody constantly which was way too much effort.
Our Puratap gets used heaps and definitely the best filter we have used in our house. And them coming out to change the filters themselves is useful - people that whinge they want to DIY everything need to get a hobby :P
Hi Chunkomunko, thanks for the great review - we're so glad to hear that you find the Puratap so convenient and are getting a lot of use!

great water terrible service
I have a puratap filter. I've had one for years. After the last replacement it leaked. When I rang puratap they said it was out of warranty and not their problem. Not very impressed. They also ring a month early and bug you all the time! thinking of gong to a different provider.

I was reminded of it last week when i was contacted to replace the filter and I said i probably wouldn't bother. I really dont want to invest in a company that doesnt seem to care. I'll go a smaller company thats more customer service orientated. SorryPuratap..can't live without it!
A never ending supply of fresh quality drinking water on tap, just for the annual cost of a replacement filter. No lugging heavy boxes of water home from the supermarket. A friendly call from the company to arrange a filter change by one of their plumbers. The service was quick and easy and apart from a check of the area in the next day, no effort on my part.
Also a South Australian company empoying local labour!
Hi Toy, thank you for the lovely review! It is great to hear you are enjoying your Puratap.
Kids like it.
I want to say that my kids love it, but lets be honest - teenagers don't love anything! I never used to be able to get them to drink anything but soft drinks but since we have banned soft dirnks in the house and gotten a Puratap they are happy to drinkwater. So it is good because they dont do anything else I say LOL! :)
Hi Allison B, thank you for taking the time to write your review. We are glad to hear that your kids are off the soft drinks in favour of the Puratap water!

Rude technician
I moved to this house which has Puratap 3 months ago and received reminder for filter so booked appointment for yesterday between 11 and 1. As I was working in the afternoon timeframe was important. By 1 no-one had arrived or called so I rang and was told tech was 5 mins away. He arrived and proceeded to change filter. As I had no previous experience with Puratap when I saw black coming out of tap I asked what was happening. Was told it was carbon and handed a leaflet and told to read it. Was then told to check for leaks in 2 and 24 hours. As I...
Read more was leaving for work I was alarmed by this and asked how likely this was. The reply was how likely are you to win lotto or have a car accident on the way to work and once again told to read leaflet. Also told depends on how much you care about kitchen cupboard as to whether you check or not all delivered in a dismissive and rude manner. I was so concerned I arranged for a friend to come and check during the evening while I was at work. When I rang to make a complaint about tech's attitude and rudeness switchboard girl said she didn't know who to put me through to and put me on hold twice before she finally put me through to call centre supervisor who was very pleasant and apologetic but her position is totally irrelevant to my complaint. As I was quite upset by this encounter I feel that I do not want to go through it again and am considering having it removed when it next needs a filter. Perhaps a little less money spent on advertising and a little more training in basic manners for tech's and problem solving and correct procedure for dealing with complaints for reception staff.Hi Linda,

I like to support local!
I have lived in a few different houses in the Adelaide suburbs and we have always had a Puratap. I really like supporting local businesses and they seem to give lots of local people jobs which I like.
The water that comes out of it is good and my kids will drink it so what more can you ask for!
Thank you SAHmum!
It is great to hear from other people that are as passionate about supporting local as we are. And we are glad your kids like the Puratap too!
Good product
Good solid product, good value for money.
I used to have one I got cheep of the internet and the bl**dy thing basically exploded under my sink. Puratap came and installed one of there units and I haven't had any problesm since. No sign of this one ever exploding!
Filter changes are reasonably priced.
Hi Dadjokes,

Totally in love with industry 3 way mixer tap
I have bought industry 3 way mixer tap recently and I am totally in love with the tap. Definitely a cheapest price I found when compared online and its watermarked certified. I would have been more happy for 4 year instead of 3 year warranty which I found when compared online though they were expensive.
Hi Savy,
Thank you for the great review. We are so glad you are enjoying your mixer tap - we love them too!
Bad customer service
I saw the advert on puratap mixer tap sales on early May 15. The lady on the phone told me if i place a deposit of $25, she will reserve both of the mixer taps for me and i will be able to chose one of them when the plumber come an install it.
2 wks later, i saw online that one of the tab i have chosen is out of stock and hence i called Puratap. I was told that they have NOT been able to reserve for me as other customers have taken it. The only way is to wait for another 3 more weeks. I was very disappointed, however, decides to wait.

I called the office again, during my office hour and the office manager took the action to return me the total of $50, i have decided to still try Puratap (as my previous rented place has a Puratap), I really hope that there is NO MORE problems coming from them, They should be make sure their supply chain keep up with their marketing pace. Basicallly a must have
I recently got one of the new all in one taps fitted in my kitchen. It was a new build house so I wasn't keen on the idea of having a separate tap, and I am seriously happy with it. It looks great and works. Not that it could not work... its a tap LOL.
Seriously the tap water at my house is awful and the Puratap is the only option. Its the only thing that makes it drinkable and the only company I trust! I have used them before and I will use them again.
Hi Noodlesoup83,
Thank you for the great review. We look forward to meeting your water needs at your next house too!
I got scoffed at?!
Pura tap called yesterday at 10 months to arrange a new filter for my tap that requires a change every 12 months. She didn't mention anything about how much it costs to get the filters changed but I have had it done before so I know its around $70. I booked the appointment for 9, the plumber came just before 8am and woke my whole house up. The woman said he was fixing taps in the area today and mine needed doing so he can come help me ... so I figured telling him that now wasn't a good time wouldn't be an issue as he had other people to service in the area too. He scoffed and walked off.... I will be buying my filters from Bunnings from now on...

If the filters need to be changed every 12 months, why do you try to make an appointment every 11 months? You have been doing this for as long as I have dealt with you - eventually along the way you make a year's profit if the customer falls for this! Also you have NEVER called back, as promised, a day or two before the appointment, to confirm. I may very well forget to be home this year. As this system was in my house when I bought it, I just went along with it - maybe time to look for a cheaper alternative, I know they're out there - as is my rainwater tank!

Cant get into contact afterhours
i tried to call them on Friday night. I understand it was after hour, and it might be too late. But i just want to let them know i have got an old house and the tap is in the wall so they would know what they will be dealing with before coming to install. The lady online said she could only take message for Monday morning, and she does not know which plumber was appoint or any other contacts could reach the plumber.
My advice will be:
At least send customers a confirm or booking message for the quotation and contacts after the booking. Not feeling confident with their service so far.My booking is Saturday afternoon. Hope it does not turn out to be bad.
The plumber came and let me know the job cant be done TODAY because my tap is in the wall. There will be an extra $70 to do this job.
Saying Puratap will call me to discuss this issue.

Poor service ex-met.
This is 3rd house where we have had a puratap installed and we love the water. However..... was much more expensive to have it installed outside of metropolitan Adelaide, then when we responded to numerous text messages to replace filter we were told that they do not service outside Adelaide and that we would have to pay same price to install ourselves as metro customers pay to have someone visit their home and do the job as the "plumber" is free.
