Qantas Club Lounge Brisbane
The quality of the food in the Qantas lounge was way below the standard one expects for exorbitant membership fees. The green salad was swimming in water and soggy, the tomatoes were soft and pulpy. The cubed cheese was dry around the edges and cracked and looked like it was in situ for a week. The salads were unimpressive and you could probably get a better quality of salad from the delicatessen at a supermarket. The Lounge was very busy but one would think that the staff should have been more attentive to the quality of the buffet items . I am definitely rethinking my membership and would probably do better at one of the many food vendors within the Airport whose quality definitely surpassed the offerings from Qantas.

Disgusting Sydney Qantas Club
I was absolutely disgusted in the way i was treated at qantas club international Sydney. I am a qantas club member and was flying code share with American Airlines to Los Angeles and was refused entrance to the qantas club because i purchased the ticket through American? I called American Airlines at the time and was told there should be no problem. Although when flying American Airlines domestically within the us i am able to enter the admirals club? I initially asked for my money back as i was so disgusted in the way i treated and was told i ...Read more

Took $1755, now has no record of payment
I renewed a 4 year Qantas Club membership in June 2017. When I tried to enter the Sydney Club last month I was told that I was not a member and was 'just a bronze'. I spoke to Qantas Cub shortly after and was told they could see record of my payment but for some reason my renewal had not been activated.
This was 4 weeks ago and I still have no outcome. I have rung Qantas Club at least 12 times since. In frustration last week, I asked Qantas to cancel my Club membership and refund me the money. As I no longer have the credit card that I ...Read more

Cash grabbing for for second join up fee
I was passing through Hobart airport a couple of months ago and went to the Qantas lounge. After handing the lady my card she advised me that my card was expired and I was not welcome. I pulled out my credit card to pay for my membership renewal and was quickly told that I could not renew my Qantas club membership at the Qantas club. Go figure. I was told it could only be done by phone. You may have though something like 'please come in and use one of our phones to renew your membership', but it was NO. You are not coming in. Because I had to g...Read more
et corporate numbers etc it was too difficult to sort on my mobile in a terminal with nowhere to write. So anyway when I finally got home and went to renew my membership on the phone as instructed I was told I had to pay a joining fee. I explained that I was already a member. I was told that my membership had expired and it is in their Ts & Cs that I had to pay another joining fee (which I am sure it is). I then alerted them to the fact that I had NOT been sent a membership renewal. The operator then put it back on me that it is my responsibility to check these things. I am sure that is somewhere in the Ts & Cs as well). I asked to speak to a supervisor and after being on hold for 10 or so minutes was told that no supervisor was available and that one would call me back. That was about 3 months ago and still no call. The funny thing is that I take a team of 6 people away 4 or 5 times a year with work. So that is 60 flights Qantas are going to miss out on this year alone due to this situation. Imagine the money they could make if they treated their customers well.

Always closed...not worth the money
We were flying out of Brisbane on an Emirates codeshare flight at 1.35am. Qantas Club in Brisbane closed....couldn't access Emirates Lounge because we're "not a high enough tier in the Qantas club". Arrive in Singapore...Qantas Club closed. Same response from Emirates Lounge. Arrive in Dubai to a really quick turnaround...no time to access any lounge! Arrive in Manchester....no Qantas arrival lounge. So where's the value in the membership? My husband has been a member for many years but definitely won't be renewing. Complete waste of money.

Qantas Club Member for 20+ yrs, now want me to pay joining fee
Having been a Qantas Frequent Flyer Member for 30 years and Qantas Club member for at least 20 years you would think that Qantas might actually consider me to be a loyal customer, but it seems not.
When traveling in January I presented my Qantas Club card at the Club desk only to have it pointed out that my card had expired in November 2017. They then checked to see if my membership was still active and they said that it was. I had not noticed that my card had expired and thought that I must have received a new card but simply not swapped th...Read more
em over. After returning home at the end of January and then having to deal with putting Dad into Aged Care in Feb, I finally went looking for the "missing new" card. After no luck finding it I called Qantas Club on Monday 5 March (I actually tried on Sunday, but they're closed) asking them to send me a new card since I obviously misplaced/lost the new one. To my surprise, I was informed that my membership had expired at the end of November 2017 and that because I was past the 90 day grace period (by 5 days!!) they would be happy to renew my membership, but I would also be up for the Joining Fee. I pointed out that I never received a renewal notice, so I was completely taken by surprise about this and surely given that I am only 5 days past the 90 days and have been a member for 20+ years there must be something they can do. I even checked my email messages and found renewal notices that I received for 2011, 2013, 2015 but nothing in 2017 (it seems based on previous comments by other’s it appears they had exactly the same experience with not receiving a renewal notification at the same time in November 2017). I was told they would escalate it and I would receive a call back. After a couple of days, I heard nothing so called back again. The person I was now speaking to at least was a little more proactive by emailing the appropriate department and I was told I would receive an email response or call. Again after a few days, still nothing. So I called once more and after repeating my story yet again, the consultant went off to speak to her supervisor. She then said she would be happy to renew my membership but as I am past the 90 days I would need to pay the joining fee!! I said this is neither reasonable nor fair and noted again that I never received a renewal notification; I was told at the Melbourne (International) Qantas Club in January that I was still a member so was never alerted to the fact that my membership had expired; and I never received any reminder to say that as a long time loyal customer I never received a courtesy reminder.1 comment

Terrible Customer Service
It was interesting to look up the Qantas Club on ieatwords after my recent experience - I thought maybe I was the only one who had experienced such appalling customer service but clearly not...
Last week I tried to enter the Qantas lounge at Melbourne Airport and discovered that my Qantas Club membership had expired. This was the first I’d heard of it. The front desk put me through to a customer service agent who told me that I had received an email back in November about renewing my membership. I didn’t receive this email and even if I ...Read more
did but had accidentally deleted it or it went to spam etc one email does not constitute a true attempt by a company to remind a member to renew a subscription. I was asked if I wanted to renew then and there but I was in a rush and with another traveller on a business trip and guests weren’t being allowed in that day so I said I would call back to renew but also politely expressed that Qantas should do a better job of reminding people to renew in the future (my business operates in the annuity sector so I am very familiar with membership products). I called back today to renew and was informed that I would have to pay the sign up fee again which I refused to do. I was told that there was a 90 day grace period which ended yesterday. I was also told that it was my fault that I didn’t receive the email and that I didn’t carry my membership card on me and check when it expired. I have never carried my membership card on me. There is no need and that is archaic, especially when the membership appears on boarding passes so there truly is no need. What is more bizarre is to expect a member who pays a lot of money every year and travels on Qantas a lot to be responsible for checking an expiry date on a card to keep their membership up. Standard customer service would have apologised for not keeping me more informed and attempting to get in touch with me prior to and shortly after my renewal date and again prior to the grace period running out. It is almost as if Qantas does not want Club members to renew. Following this I have emailed customer service multiple times and just keep getting the same canned response about the T&C's. I am trying to get someone senior in their team to call me but to no avail. So, long story short. I definitely do not recommend this overpriced service and will be switching all of my personal and corporate my business to Virgin.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!
A rip-off
I have been a member for two years, renewing recently in the hope that it will be useful in international airports when transiting between long-haul flights. The list of lounges was promising enough, but unless the membership is for those who travel to a select few destinations, it is a rip-off. You cannot access even the Qantas Club lounges (let alone those operated by partner airlines) if you are not flying Qantas that day, and some of the lounges are not open during the night, when one would need them most for a shower and some rest. Paying even at a corporate rate for using only domestic lounges or when travelling Qantas, given that they do not fly everywhere, is just outrageous.

Member for 28 years - then dumped for forgetting to pay this year's membership
Member for 28 years. Membership was due for renewal in August. Got busy, slipped the mind. Turned up as per normal for a Qantas flight. Refused entry to the Qantas Club, which is when lapsed membership came to light. Qantas then wanted to charge joining fee, as well as the annual membership. I did fly Qantas a lot.
Qantas's loss is Virgin's gain. AND their club fees are cheaper.

Complaint process is terrible
There is no dedicated complaint process for qantas club members. You merely get transferred to frequent flyer CSR's.
I purchased a membership was refused entry at an international lounge. The reply from counter staff was that it was in the terms and conditions. Humiliated, ignored with the counter staff no help what so ever and no access to membership facilities. An angry wife and an unpleasant international flight were the result. I contacted qantas via email and was told it would take up to 15 business days to answer. Again no help. I rece...Read more

Feel totally ripped off
Flying Emirates to Europe from Perth. Cannot use the Qantas club in Perth, Dubai or Dublin as we have an EK number on our ticket instead of a QF. So much for code share. Same flight, same cost but what annoyed me most was the staff at the empty club basically said bad luck. Would it really have killed them to have explained our error and just said come in. What a total waste of money.

Stole our money!
We have been in in the quantas club in Aus for a year and a half going from Aus to nz many times. However when we used the lounge club after we were renewed it two months before and used the Aus lounge 2 days before we were denied access because they didnt renew our club member ship. We have tried calling quantsas call centre to sort it out but we can't send the call centre the email because they won't give us their email address. It seems all air port clubs only have one thing in their minds ~ money.

Useless Internationally
Qantas Club membership is supposed to give you access when travelling on Qantas flights internationally... WRONG!!!!
Bangkok = No Access
Dubai = No Access
We paid Premium prices to fly Qantas to Europe and joined Qantas Club at $939.00 each to be told that we could not access Business Lounges in both Bangkok and Dubai.....
Don't bother becoming a Qantas Club member!!!

Filthiest Qantas Club domestic toilets in Australia
I have been moved to write this review about the Qantas Club toilets at the Brisbane Domestic terminal. Today 2 cubicles ran out of toilet paper, another cubicle had faecal material all over the toilet seat cover. This has to be the most filthy Qantas Club toilets domestic terminal, in Australia. I have used Melbourne, Perth, Sydney etc.
Brisbane beats them all with the filth and the lack of maintenance!!!

Qantas Club - Hardly Open
I am a Qantas club member and every time I try to visit the club it is usually not open. Recently I flew to Japan and when I tried to enter the lounge at the international airport they told me to use the domestic Qantas lounge. As if. I had to check my bags in two hours before and the domestic terminal was miles from the international. I have frequently arrived to an early Jetstar flight at various airports to find the Qantas club closed until a Qantas flight departs. Don't sell entry to the club with Jetstar flights if you are not even going to be open.

Qantas club not worth the $$ if flying overseas
QC is ok if you are just starting a role that involves a lot of internal only flying with Qantas. It give you access to Qantas lounges in Aus which if flying a lot is worth the expense.
But
International - don't expect to get into other lounges outside Aus..Although BA is a part of the share they do not allow you in the lounge. other partners were also reticent to let you in -

r a) listening to me and b) after looking up my history of consistently renewing my membership over the last 25 or so years on time etc. she went ahead and renewed my membership without me having to pay the joining fee. So whilst I obviously would have preferred not to have had to go through this painful exercise, I am satisfied that Qantas Club did the right thing here by exercising some judgement and coming to a reasonable conclusion.
