Koleos is very reliable and hasn't given my trouble yet .. The seating position is what I like most about it.It supports me perfectly and long drives are hassle free. I would not reccomend the koleos or Renault to anyone. We purchased ours several years ago for $45,000, all fhe bells and whistles. We have had one thing or another go wrong including an unfixable aircon and now shopping for another car because the renault is our bottomless pitt we have only gotten $4000 for a trade in. Purchased my 2011 2.0Dci with 50000km on the odo. It has now got 179000km under its belt.

I've taken it to Mozambique once through sand and mud and up San Pass three times. It handled very well and did what it promised.

I am 6foot 4 inch and have plenty of legroom. The vehicle is an absolute pleasure to drive and I love it's creature comforts and gadgets. It has more than enough power even above 3000m sea level!

My only gripe is the boot space is too small and the seats could have been better designed.

It's been very reliable with the biggest issue been a faulty AC pipe. I drive the vehicle hard and use it as a utility vehicle at times and the rear folding tail Gate has been a big help.

Just writing this to let everyone know that there are very distinct differences between the 2015 Bose Premium, and the 2014 Privilege. We were told by several dealers that the Bose Premium is the "newer model" of the Privilege, which is incorrect. The 2015 Bose Premium has several features REMOVED when compared to the 2014 Koleos Privilege, and these are just a few that I've found:

- Passenger seat is no longer motorised

- Rear passenger seats no longer recline

- Rear passenger seats still fold flat, but no longer with a "one touch" lever - it's now a cumbersome routine involving pulling levers and strings in a certain order

- Woodgrain has been replaced by fake carbon fiber

Okay, so I'm about to trade in the Koleos Bose Diesel 4x4 after 100,000k in 3 years (leased). So what have I replaced in 3 years of big kilometres? A set of tyres, 2 lots of wiper blades, filters and one set of front brakes (at 90,000k). Just toll into Renault every 15,000k, pay $300, get it serviced, get a loan car, and that's it. Tyres at around 50,000k.

We bought the Koleos from a close friend who had to leave the country asap. My friend decided to pass it on to me as I was her passenger a few times and couldn't stop gushing about how pretty and chic the car was. We had the 1st version of 2008 and drove it until last month, when our car got CRASHED into the 3rd time. My partner and i recently stayed at cradle mountain tasmania where the snow fall was very heavy roads were closed certain days and snow ploughs didnt bother scraping roads as snow fall quickly recovered the bitumen again. Reason why got this car:
When I was looking into the SUV market, there are some other brands with mid range models that I was interested: VW Tiguan, Mazda CX-5 and Subaru Forester. But they gives me impression that they are overrated and overpriced with less features on the car.
1. Tiguan has the DSG transmission problem.

75,000k and 2.5 years later (yep), and the Keleos is fine. We take ours to the snow a lot and have only one car - so ours is a bit of an accelerated test case. Straight to the point. Diesel does gel up in cold temperatures (use additive) - and when you hit wombats with the right side of the bumper car, it will crack the washer bottle.

I bought a used Privilege 4X4 around15 months ago, which was about a year old at the time with 20,000km on the clock. Its certainly a great buy second hand, but I wouldn't buy new because of the steep depreciation. I upgraded from a Honda Accord 2010 12 months ago, to a new Bose 2X4, due to chronic back problems and the difficulty of alighting from a lowish vehicle, I am 189cm tall. There is ample room whilst driving, but there is less rear leg room than the Accord, and perhaps a little less luggage room, however the rear seats are able to be laid flat and the is almost enough room for me to lie down when the front seat is in the most forward position.

This car has ALL the bells and whistles! No other SUV near the price had anywhere near the gadgets and modern technology and safety features that the Koleos has.
I have the Priviledge 4x4 with the beautiful cream leather interior and brown dash. The panoramic sunroof is amazing and also opens, with mesh covers to pull over if it is really bright and I leave it open with the cover pulled so my seats aren't hot when I've finished work. Very roomy inside, driving position feels almost like driving a bus with so much room around. Car has plenty of power, CVT is mooth, engine does not rev at all when driven normally. Suspension is firm but not hard. Rear door is split with very practical lay down tailgate. Car has various gadgets inside like USB etc. Interior soft plastics are ok but the hard plastics scratch easy.

I have a 2013 build Bose Phase 3 2WD petrol for two months now. I love it. The family loves it. It feels larger than it is. One sits high with a good view. It rides pleasantly soft. It is comfortable. Economy is a bit short because it has a larger engine and is a bit heavier than most of its competitors.
