Atrocious lack of response and no action.
Hi, I also ordered hand sanitiser and face masks in March (17th), after another delay was advised I rang on the 20th April and cancelled the order. The request was taken by “Mary” and I would have a refund in 3-5 days. I again rang on the 29th April as I had not received a refund, I spoke to Naomi, who responded that the order was cancelled and it can take longer than 3-5 days for a refund and yes the order was cancelled. The masks arrived today 6th May. How do I return these and get a refund? Ian B

Seems like Covid19 being used as an excuse for extremely poor service.
Ordered online 1.05.2020. Money take out if my account 2.05.2020. Still waiting for order confirmation, delivery date and an answer to an online query I had. Contacting Office of Fair Trading and ACCC. Impossible to get through by phone, emails not answered. Theft is the only word for this!

over Priced for quality
Store OK, staff OK but the product i bought must be a cheap nasty china product as having worn several times now having a very bad odour from shoe the plastic, rubber base, inner lining smells had to throw away, had cleaned, new inner soles put in but plastic smell stayed, very strong
Product Rivers Comfortable slip on's, not happy :(

Don't believe the delivery dates--non-existent customer service
I ordered masks and hand sanitiser online in the middle of March--when they weren't available anywhere in store. The promise was that they would be posted by the end of March, to be received by mid-April.
Now at the beginning of May, still no delivery. I emailed a week ago to cancel the order (since I have now purchased supplies elsewhere). No acknowledgement of this, but I did get an email saying the order was delayed to mid-May. This is completely unsatisfactory. Don't promise what you can't deliver! The issue is *not* overstrained delivery services, since I have ordered and received many other packages in the meantime. This is an issue of fraud--Rivers promised a delivery date that they knew full well they would not meet, in order to induce purchases. Ugly granny floral shirt received rather than striped shirt ordered
Ordered a striped shirt during a recent Rivers sale and the brand was Rockmans.
Really slow to arrive and then it was an incredibly ugly floral pattern.
Contacted Rivers Customer Care, received a ticket and have still not received a response after 7 days.
Rivers is blaming the Coronavirus for slow turnaround but that simply doesn't make sense since it is all being done online.
Will NEVER purchase from them online again, including their affiliates.

Buy the faces mask got nothing
Please don't buy anything. I bought 2pack 50pcs of face mask online.cause my partner work in hospital.180au$ the advertisement said that rivers would delivery home before 15 April 2020, now is 21 April, I got nothing. I tried to contact with customers service. I only got email said that they would contact with me.they charge top price,but provide such poor service.

Long Wait until the items become useless
I bought masks for my family and colleagues on March 17, it supposed to be delivered by 31 March and took 7-10 business days to arrive.
Until this second the items has not been delivered, no confirmation of the availability of the product nor tracking number whatsoever until my family and colleagues left the country already and I don't need all those masks. There might be someone else that need it more than me that's why I cancel the order. The masks cost us A$89.95 and the one that need it can't get a hand on it.

She has said the items is not refundable, I don't even received the product I want to cancel the items thats has not been shipped yet to my address. Moreover, when I placed the order the term and condition said change of mind, not a problem to return the product. 15 items ordered but only got 1 incorrect item. Tried to contact customer service but no one answers call or replies to an email. I wounder if will ever get my 15 items . Completely disappointed and skeptical if I lost all those money.

Shoes - not a good buy
Have bought 2 pairs of men’s business shoes. Both times they have failed within a month. The last pair had a coushined sole and the inner lining deteriorated within a couple of weeks. Kept thinking I had small rocks in my shoes but it was buts of white plastic from the inner sole giving way. Two weeks later the glue gave way and the show separated from the sole. The same happened to a different style of shoe previous to these. Lucky I bought them on sale as the full price was comparable to more established quality brands.
Service in the store was fine just the product has let me down unfortunately.

Ripping people off
Broadmeadows store. Charging 50% more in store than online price. Told me that their discounts are only available online even though the poster was in the store window. When you go online to buy, they charge $5 to click and collect. Only place I have seen this. So I opted for delivery as it was only $3 more but that was 10 days ago and I still have not received my order. No wonder these sorts of stores are going out of business. Terrible.

A Very Happy Customer
Only after I had ordered 3 surprisingly inexpensive T-Shirts from the online store did I take a few minutes to read the reviews describing terrible service - and began to regret making my purchase. But to my surprise - shock, even- they were delivered the next day! The products were as described.
Regarding the reviews on here, we tend to leave feedback when something unexpected happens, so it’s usually negative. “Good/great/super service’ is what shoppers just expect - also known as “service” - and anything outside of it is deemed “bad service”. And yes, I am a real customer who made a real purchase.

Good shopping with Rivers

Never do online again
I bought 5 items from rivers online shopping. I got a refund for 1 item bec. didn't available. Pair of shoes received is completely different to what was on line pic. When I went to return they said coding Is wrong. If I want the item as online mentioned picture I need to pay another 15 dollars. I think they purposely misleading customers.

I ordered a jeans te but after a long waiting I called customer care and they said your order had been cancelled. No one notified me about it. That was a sale jeans and when I ordered it’s price was very low. Later on they increased the price and cancelled the order without letting me know.

They tried to bluff on a warranty claim
My family have purchased many items on and off form Rivers over the decades. Recently we have noticed a decline in the quality of the footwear. This was made painfully more obvious when my partner purchased a pair of shoes from Rivers last week. After a couple of days of use her feet became extremely sore and tender. My partner contacted the Rivers customer service line (telephone based) person who tried to bluff my partner out of a legitimate warranty claim by stating that they do not normally accept returns. that she had noticed a major change in the quality of Rivers footwear over time and asked if Rivers manufacturing processes had changed in any way. This was denied by the customer service person. Next, my partner went to a physical store and got pretty much the same treatment from the staff member there. At one point during her conversations she was illegally told that sale items were not refundable. By this stage my partner wasn't having any more of their lies as the shoe was only purchased the previous week and well within the twelve month statutory warranty limit. My partner then pointed the shop assistant (at the physical store) to the section on the Consumer Affair website that outlines all the dodgy trader tactics that she had just been subjected to. My partner then pointed the sales assistant to the section about the penalties that traders were liable for when breaking the law in this way. The sales assistant then backed down and issued the refund. This time my partner told the service person at the physical store that she had noticed a major change in the quality of Rivers footwear over time and asked if Rivers manufacturing processes had changed in any way.
