Hi Judy,

Rufus & Coco Wee Away is a professionally formulated odor and stain remover, perfect for carpets. It contains naturally derived enzymes and a fresh scent to neutralise odor, deodorise and remove urine, faeces and vomit stains (even old stains!) without harsh chemicals.

To ensure that you're using it correctly please follow the simple directions below:

Turn the nozzle to stream and saturate the entire soiled area, particularly the edges of the stain. Allow to air dry. Repeat as needed. After the final application has dried, rinse sparingly with water and blot dry with a paper towel, working from outside to centre. No scrubbing required!

Kind regards,

I think that would be a total waste of money. Wee away needs to flood the affected are, band may or may not work. try to sniff out an exact spot. I found Carpet Power to be much more effective than Wee Away, and cheaper too.

Hi Jay,

Absolutely! Spraying Wee Away across the full surface would definitely help with the odour. Spray the surface, leave it on to work for a couple of hours, and then wipe down with water.

Hi there. I have been reading up on using wee away on couches, mattresses, and carpets. Can I use this product on tiles, lenolium, or hardwood?

Also I have been looking for ingredients and haven’t been able to find them. I am allergic to latex and coconut and before I use it I want to make sure I do not have a reaction. Can you let me know if there are any of these in the Wee Away original Formula?

Thanks for the help.

On hard services you should be able to clean pet accidents easily as they won’t soak up the pee like carpet. Just use water soap and vinegar. Don’t waste your money on this.

I certainly wouldn't waste such a valuable product on tiles and hard surfaces. For my tiles, I use bleach or disinfectant in very hot water. Wee Away is wonderful for use on carpets. That is what I use it for. It is amazing.

Hi Holly,

Thank you for getting in touch with us! :)

Wee Away has been used on a wide variety of surfaces - from fabric, upholstery, mattresses, carpets to lino, tiles, cement, even in a car to get rid of spilled coffee! As it helps with any organic stain / odour. However, we do suggest doing a patch test first in case your surface has a different treatment.

Wee Away doesn't contain latex or coconut; it contains water and a natural enzyme that breaks down the urine crystal which causes staining and odour.

Kind regards,

Hey, my name is Tori. My daughter's cat had kittens on Christmas day. They use the kitty litter sometimes but most of the time the pee wherever they want. I would like to know if I spray Wee Away everywhere except their kitty litter box will it help train them? and Does Wee Here work on kitten/cats too?

Hi Tori!
Thank you so much for sending us your questions.
Wee Away is an odour and stain remover, and the active ingredient is an all natural bio-enzymatic technology that works to breakdown the urine crystals that cause staining and odour. Wee Away isn't exclusively designed to prevent your pet from re-offending. For dogs, by breaking down the urine crystals, it removes the pheromones from the area. Pheromones are found in the dogs urine and are an attractant which triggers the dog to mark their territory in the same place. However, reoffending in cats is more closely linked to behavioural causes. So in this case, removing the pheromone from the area does not have the same effect on cats as it does for dogs. Our Pee Here product also works by using attractant pheromones, so it wont be as effective for cats as it is for dogs.
Toilet training young pets does require a lot of time, patience and consistency. Our suggestion would be to make sure your tray is placed in an accessible area for your kittens to find and make sure that it stays in the same place so that they learn where to go. However, when little accidents do occur, Wee Away can certainly be used to help you clean up the mess.
I hope this is helpful and if you have any further questions please don't hesitate to ask :)

Hi there!
Thank you for your question :)
Although Wee Away is a professionally formulated odour and stain remover and is suitable for use on carpets and other surfaces, I would not suggest spraying it into your heating ducts without checking with the manufacturer first to determine whether or not it is safe to do so.
I hope this is helpful and if there is anything else we can do to help you, please let us know.

Hi Samantha,
Wee Away does work on couches. It is best to always test a small area for colour fastness first as different fabric can react differently.

Hi Tiff,

It is best to wait until the floor is dry to get your kitten back in - just so that they don't notice where you have cleaned up the accident and go back to the same spot.

If you have any other questions please let us know!

How can this be used on a mattress? Should I just saturate the area with the product?

1 answer
Rufus & Coco
Rufus & C.Rufus & Coco

Hi George,

What a great question!
Rufus& Coco Wee Away can be used on mattresses in a similar way that you would apply the product to carpet.

Firstly, remove any excess urine or faeces from the mattress - soak up as much of the urine as possible with some paper towels.
Then spray Wee Away onto the soiled area including the edges of the mark or stain so that the area is saturated (always test the product in a small area in case of colourfastness).
Allow this application to air-dry thoroughly. You may need to repeat the process if you are trying to remove a stain or the urine saturation was quite a lot.

Once you have finished your final application and it has dried, dab the area lightly with water to remove any excess Wee Away.

We have had some great feedback of parents who use our Wee Away product for their children who wet the bed!

Does this work on poo smells?

1 answer
Rufus & Coco
Rufus & C.Rufus & Coco

Hi Zm4,

Rufus & Coco Wee Away certainly does work on poo smells, it will work to neutralise the odour plus remove any stains that may be left behind.

Make sure you clean up the mess completely or as best you can, saturate the area where the faeces was or where the smell remains and then allow to air dry. Always make sure to check for colourfastness in a discreet spot first. Repeat as needed until the smell as gone. Once the smell has disappeared, rinse the area with water and a paper towel to remove the excess residue.

Thank you for asking about our award winning Wee Away, let us know how you go!

Is this ok to use on kids play area and kids toys?

1 answer
Rufus & Coco
Rufus & C.Rufus & Coco

Hi Crystal,

Rufus & Coco Wee Away is 100% natural, made from natural enzymes that help to break down the uric acid crystals to prevent the animal from re-soiling in the same spot; it also helps to remove staining. So, being natural it is completely fine to use on kids play areas and toys.

However, I am wondering if you are trying to prevent your dog from chewing the kids toys? If so, Chew Stopper which contains the world’s most bitter ingredient is a better solution http://www.rufusandcoco.com.au/dog-products/chew-stopper-quit-chewing-bite-stop-dog-teething

If your pet has weed on the kids toys, we recommend that you give all of the toys a good wash with disinfectant in the sink or washing machine to sanitise them as kids tend to put toys in their mouth etc. It is worth considering that your pet may be a little jealous of the attention that the kid/s are getting resulting in your pet urinating in the area that the kids are playing, if you try to separate play with kids play this may help prevent this behaviour in the future.

I have used wee away and I'm very disappointed,I did everything it said and still the terrible cat urine smell is there?

Assuming you have absorbed as much of the cat urine with paper or fabric towelling, I advise really drenching the spot with Wee Away. You didn't say what type of flooring the urine was found on. Wooden and lino should be a breeze, carpet is another matter, especially if there is underfelt...urine will leak into the underfelt. Retreat the area. Also, the cat may be spraying elsewhere if there is still a smell detectable. I have used WeeAway for years now, having tried others, this is the best product on the market for animal accidents around the home. Have you tried contacting the Rufus & Coco website - they are very helpful with all their products. Good Luck!
