Unfortunately no, the Maxi Guard Pro is a FF restraint only and can not be used in RF mode at all.

No it can't, it is solely forward facing. Many of the reviews on here are stating the wrong seat and are claiming it is rear facing and suitable from birth when that is highly incorrect. It is forward facing and only suitable from 6 months to 8 years.

Hi. We do have a mondeo 2008 but have always had it in our Suzuki. So if it fits the Suzuki I don't see why it wouldn't fit the mondeo. The baby store would probably have a model you could try in your car

the extra side protection and arm rests on the Pro. Worth the extra money just for the fabric let alone the extra safety

Oh no! Kiddies can be such little contortionists can't they. You are rightly concerned, it is definitely not safe for her to travel this way. To be honest, I've heard of a few mothers who complain of the exact same thing with harness seat belts - their children wriggle free of the straps. It's not a brand or model specific complaint, it seems to happen in different seats, the common denominator being the harness belt system. I personally haven't experienced this with my children so I feel at a loss to be able to offer you any meaningful feedback. I will say however that I do consciously harness my children in very tightly. In fact, I've been chastised by other family members who think I'm compromising the comfort of my children, but my children don't complain so I ignore the critics. I make sure there is enough room to slide my hand flat under the belt along my child's chest, but not enough room to be able to make a fist. This makes for a very firm fit, but like I said my children don't mind and so far they haven't wriggled free. The only other thing that I can think to mention is to be sure the straps feed into the seat above the child's shoulders. If the straps are at the same level of the child's shoulders, or below, the child might be able to slide the straps off (no matter how tight they are) and wriggle free. You're probably already doing both of these things, and in that case I simply wish you all the best in being able to find a way to keep her secure and safe.

Have you tried putting a houdini strap in? Its an extra attachment that fits onto the harness. Most baby shops stock them and its a universal strap

Great question (I was thinking the same thing... was really disappointing to read that it was forward facing only much later on as had read all the great reviews & was ready to purchase for when my bub turns 6 months!!) & disappointing to see Britax haven't answered it!!

The classifications according to the law/standards categorise seats as 0to6m, 0to4, 6mto4, 6mto8 and 4to8. You're right that these type of seats are not really suitable for any child below about 2 (and most 6m olds will not reach the entry markers) but the companies have to label them according to the pre-defined categories (which reflect the fact that the law allows forward facing from 6 months). If would be better if the law changed to require rf until at least 2.

Hi, I looked at other brands of car seats on the market but I chose the britax Maxi pro for the safety, breathable bamboo fabric, adjustable head rest and straps, no need to take car seat out to adjust straps, my child can stay in the seat longer up to 8 years, plus the extras like the cup holders that fold away and arm rests.

The Maxi Guard PRO car seat is approved by the Australian Standards as an entire product therefore, you cannot remove cushions etc. as this is not how the seat was approved.
Maxi Lite and Maxi Guard PRO are two completely different seats - Maxi Guard PRO is a harnessed forward facing car seat whereas, our Maxi Lite is a convertible booster seat.

Hi, as far as I'm aware both the Hi-Liner and Maxi Guard Pro have the same exit markers- 51cm. So you should get the same amount of time in both seats, however the Maxi Guard Pro will provide extra safety due to the harness. My 7.5 year old has at least 2 years if not more left in her maxi guard pro if that helps.

Maxi Guard PRO is not capable of rear-facing it is a Harnessed Forward Facing Car Seat only.

I would recommend a Convertible Car Seat (suitable for newborn to 4 years (approx.) or an Infant Carrier (suitable for newborn to 12 months of age approx.)
