Good but break away feature should be looked at and upgraded
The collar works amazingly well but the break away feature needs to be looked at because they don’t break away. My cat tried to get the collar off and got it caught in his mouth. He dang near killed himself, blood everywhere when I found him and then had a vet bill to make sure he was ok

Wounded from Seresto collar.
I wish I had read these other reviews first because my cat also received a sore on his neck. After a few days of wearing it I noticed a tuft of fur missing on the back of his neck. I thought it was unrelated to the collar and it didnt look like a wound. A week later that tuft had turned into a massive sore. I am now going to have to wash it multiple times a day with salty water so it doesn't get infected. I feel terrible that I didn't check him daily for sores around his neck. I would recommend doing this if you are going to try the collar.

The collars work fine on my 5 cats but the 6th is allergic
After a week of one of my six cats wearing its seresto collar, it’s neck became hairless with sores developing. It is a great product. I have used on 4 of my older cats for 5 years. I have 2 recently rescued and one is allergic. So make sure your cat is ok after a week. If not please don’t use.

Extremely disappointed
We have a male cat with no scruff. He adapted fine to the collar which we purchased two weeks ago. I noticed yesterday that he wasn't acting himself. He is very vocal normally telling me to feed him or pick him up. That was not the case
He just laid around all day. Today I looked to see if maybe his collar was too tight. That was not the case either. But, after examining him I noticed that he had hair loss and very red irritated skin half way around his neck. So off the collar went and into the trash!

Left red mark and sores around neck
Had to cut off the collar as left red mark and sores around my cats neck. Also fur missing. I could put 2 fingers under the collar so was not too tight.

Severe side effects
After 3-4 weeks of wearing this collar my cat began to get darker pink skin areas and lose fur. First around where the collar was then in other areas. He developed red areas around his eyes and butt as well as under him. With time most of skin turned black. Had biopsies and other tests vets are stumped for answers.

Expensive 1 month of flea control
Purchased Seresto and it worked well on cat for 1 month only - not up to 8 months as loudly printed on collar tin. I am disappointed with product and have paid.

Best flea & tick treatment
Bought this after it was recommended by my sister who's a vet nurse. I've used Seresto on 3 different cats for nearly 18months and none have ever gotten fleas or ticks. We brought our 3rd cat home as a kitten with fleas and I straight away put a new seresto collar on my other cat. Not a single flea was ever found. They can lose a little bit of hair where the collar touches but that's due to it rubbing and it isn't noticeable. I highly recommend seresto because it lasts so long and the price has dropped since they were first brought out so o me...Read more
, it's worth the money. Some cats will have reactions to products. My advice would be to try and see if it's ok for your cat. I personally love it and prefer a little fur loss than a flea infestation. Highly recommend.Purchased in May 2021 at Petbarn Online store for A$38.00.

It was Great while it Lasted
My cat was riddled with fleas (if I parted her fur on her head, I was guaranteed to see at least one flea, usually more). I tried the Advocate Flea treatment and flea shampoo (all recommended by the pet store), but to no avail.
As a last resort the pet store recommended Seresto Flea collar. Within the first week there was a noticeable difference (head part test; no fleas) and after having the collar for approximately one month, her fleas have disappeared.
However the only downfall was that we had to remove the collar yesterday as she developed a sore on her neck but it was worth the one month’s grace of not seeing my cat go crazy by scratching & biting herself every five seconds.

Left a nasty mark on my cats neck
Works at getting rid of the fleas, easy to put on, but after a few days my cat was left with a horrible sore on his neck and hair loss. Can't tell you if it works after as i cut the collar off and took him to the vet.

Horrible
I have had the collars for just over a week. The collars advertise 8 months life span. They have worked for all of two days and my cats are all riddled with fleas again. Not to mention my younger two who have white fur have sores on there necks from where the collars where sitting l, am unable to check the other two as they are tabby’s with dark fur. But have removed collars from all 4 babies. My youngest kitten went mental not long after the collar was put on. Biting and tearing her fur. Took her to the vets and they advices removing the collar. I had checked they weren’t on too tight by being able to insert two fingers comfortably under the colllars.

Left sores on one of my cats necks the other cat started acting aggressively
I had not been having any luck with any of the back of the neck drops for controlling my cats fleas, so when I saw this product I thought it was worth a try. After 2 weeks of wearing it my daughter noticed a sore under the collar of one of the cats necks and on closer examination he had lost all his fur under the collar and had small sores all around his neck. The collar was not on too tight, if anything it was slightly looser than recommend. Of course on seeing this I took the collars off both cats . The other cat had patches of hair missing ...Read more
but no sores but had been acting aggressively when he never had before and also had stopped grooming. I just removed the collars yesterday so have yet to see if my cats behaviour returns to normal, but he already seems calmer.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Not Working
We bought this because the doctor from local animal hospital suggested it. After using it for a few weeks, we noticed that the cat was still scratching. We combed him and found about 60 fleas in one try. Now, we have terrible flea outbreak and our whole apartment is infected with fleas!

No Fleas (and dead ticks)
Awesome product. Not a flea on either of my cats (one long hair and one black short hair) and it seems to be working on ticks as I’ve even found a dead tick in their bedding. We live in a high tick area and they are starting to come out in force atm. Great peace of mind for outside cats. Works out way cheaper than spot ons.

Don't waste your money!! Don't work!!
I am extremely disappointed in the Seresto flea collars I purchased for my 5 cats. I've purchased these collars 3 times for my 5 cats and the collars do not keep the fleas away as it should. All in all, these collars DO NOT work!! They lose their efficacy very quickly.

One of my cats ended up with a weeping sore on her neck.
I’d moved to a regional city where ticks are bad in summer. My two cats are medium longhair indoor only, but we have dogs so I was so worried about paralysis ticks making their way inside - so many cats have been lost here due to paralysis ticks.
These collars are expensive (cheaper online from reputable sources), but should theoretically work longer than the on the skin drops so I thought I’d give the collars a go. My female cat HATES collars, but surprisingly she tolerated this one so I was relieved! A week later I could afford another on...Read more
e for my boy (his fur is far easier to check for ticks). Two weeks later on my female I noticed small patches of fur being scratched out on one side of her neck. I had a look and she’d scratched it raw! About the size of a 20c piece was red, raw, weeping and furless. I took her to the vet who said he rarely sees such reactions. We don’t know if it was from irritation directly from there being a collar (she’s not used to it), or from the chemicals, or both from the spike in humidity we had at the time. Her fur is very dense and thick, normally I shave them down during summer but it hadn’t really gotten hot enough to warrant that yet but their fur is still only currently a little longer than a shorthair. The vet gave me a cream combining antifungal/steroid/anaesthetic and I took the collar off. Her wound is getting better one week later; it’s not red or weeping anymore, but the fur will never grow back. I’ve left the collar on the boy but am watching him like a hawk. He’s itchier than usual, but again that could be from the humidity spike and not necessarily the collar. I’ll be getting them shaved asap. I debated what rating to give the collar. On one hand my female had a terrible time of it, and I’m not 100% sure it’s helping my boy; but OTOH it would kill me to lose them to ticks.....Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Peace of mind
My vet recommended this product. I have a 11 y.o. Russian Blue male. He never had fleas, but I wanted the best protection for ticks coming into the summer Sydney tick season. The product works by dispersing it’s active ingredient on the skin. The collar must be fitted to allow 2 fingers’ worth of space resting flush against the cat’s neck. Through movement the fur around the collar naturally malts off. Not seen the adverse effects to my animal others mention. Seems to be working well after 1 month from wearing it. $50’s worth of tick prevention is better than $1000 worth of tick treatment (if I got him to the vet in time).

Got rid of our long running flea problem
We bought a ragdoll kitten not knowing she was infested with fleas. The breeder put flea drops on her before we took her home and whilst we saw them dying and dropping off, the drops did not entirely kill them all. Come last summer (after holiday and kitty in boarding) we come home to fleas jumping everywhere in our house. An utter nightmare. We vacuumed tirelessly, treated the cat over and over, threw out everything we could and flea bombed. We had treated the cat with 2-3 DIFFERENT brands of drops and still she had fleas. By now we had spe...Read more
nt $100s. Finally at the point of getting rid of the cat, we were told about these collars. Thought after all the $ already wasted (including the cat!) We would try it and at $70 it better work. Finally we ARE flea FREE. The collar must break the infestation cycle (even after bombing new fleas must still have been in the house). So icky and we honestly keep a clean house. This collar is only thing to have worked for us and thank goodness as we were so close to giving away our kitty.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

My 6month cat has been drooling and not eating since I put the collar on it's been 5 days now, what do I do for him,
Kathasked
I live in QLD Australia and have used seresto tick collars on my cats for 3 years now. We have a lot of paralysis ticks on our property. They have previously worked well until yesterday when I found a large paralysis tick on my cats tummy area. He is losing control of his hind legs. The new collar was put on him 3 weeks ago and hasn’t worked. Any suggestions why?

They have fake imitation collars sold online that aren’t true Bayer Seresto. Bayer seresto is always around $55. The fake on around $24 or so. Not sure if you purchased from a replica vet or online but could be you purchased a fake.
