My machine WM16Y890AU has reported Error E: 23 I have emptied the clothes from the drum and cleaned out the filter, I have switched the power off completley and shut the water flow off and waited and the same error comes up can you help, Thank you Brian

I have an Siemens IQ1700 and the middle dispenser for the softener fills up with water every load. If I do add sanitiser (or softener) it remains in the dispenser and just becomes diluted - will not dispense. I have taken the drawer out and emptied it and tried again but it keeps happening. This is most likely as issue with the draining sequence of the machine. Checking the drain pump (bottom right of appliance) and that the drain hose isn't blocked is the only troubleshooting customer's can tend to themselves. If this is done or gets done or can't be done a service call would be required.

I have a siemens idos 800 and the detergent is not being delivered to the machine when the cycle is running. I do know that it is a smart system and will only take what is needed, but my clothes are coming out smelling dirty and no sign of detergent being used. Has this got something to do with the filter that sits in the detergent for dispensing. I have cleaned the detergent drawer but I am still having the same problem.

Thanks for the question regarding your Siemens washing machine.
The iDos system does seem to not use detergent but it definitely does. We do recommend following the dosing recommendations of the manufacturer of the detergent though. In the setting you can alter the basic dosage based on that recommendation. If adjusting this does not help and the load size is a good size, a service call would be needed to investigate further.

I have done all that you have said to in the past. After 3 months and the detergent not going down like it used to I know that there is a problem.
Can you get replacement filters that the detergent goes through? These seem to be full of grunge and I believe that this is stopping the detergent to be used correctly.

We have the same symptoms on our machine. In our case it is caused by a fault in the door switch. For a machine that cost $2500 it seems that the door switches wear out in about 6 years. We found that you can still use the machine if after closing the door you pull slightly on the door as if you were going to open it and you will see the blue light on the start button come on. Then while the blue light is on you press the start button.
Have you had any trouble with the auto dose ids system? Ours has failed due to corrosion on the electrical connector foe the dosing system.
We complained to Siemens who sent out their tech. He charged us $160 to tell us what we already knew (and what they were told before the callout). The tech had no spare switch with him (!!). We have now been quoted over $500 for him to come back and to fix the idose and the switch.
I looked on the internet and found the switch as a spare part costs about $60.
If you machine is not that old I suggest you give the machine a rating of one star and then Siemens might contact you. I expect the cost of repairs for the switch will be $260.
I am about to go to consumer affairs because despite providing information to Siemens customer relationships with proof of purchase and the techs report (as they requested) they have not responded. Under Australian Law my problems are major failures and the warranty is irrelevant.

Dear Siemens, the detergent dispenser on my washer is inconsistent. The volume of detergent dispensed varies resulting in unclean loads with residual smells. There's a clicking noise during for a long period during the "detergent dispensing" cycle. The machine is only 2yrs old. Didn't expect issues for such an expensive machine. I've already cleaned the detergent tray and tried doing a drum clean also. No error messages have come up. Been using the same detergent since we've had the machine. Did not have issues in the first 18 months.
What is the likely issue with my washer?
Maybe should have got a Samsung. Haven't had a problem with any Samsung products I own. Still going strong after 10 years.

Logged a call with customer service. Let's see how it pans out. Particularly difficult to diagnose when the problem is intermittent. Hopefully, a case where Siemens can sort out without too much fuss nor cost me any more money, given 1 Siemens unit is the twice the cost of other brands. Cheers

At the front of the machine open the round cover at the bottom, from there you can open the pick-up cover of the pump, clean it out, a $2 coins can block the suction side and not allow the water to be pumped to drain the machine, it will make a mess when you open the second cover, be ready with the towels.
Make sure the machine is level or leaning back a little, if leaning forward the sensor for the over fill can go off and halt progress of the program.

Please refer to your instruction manual on page 45.
Please turn off your appliance at the mains and unplug.
If water is still in your appliance, place a towel on the floor and open the service flap at the bottom right of your washing machine.
Pull out the hose (located on the left above the filter cap) and drain water into a bowl or bucket.
Once the water has been drained, pull down on the emergency lever with a tool and release (located on the right side above the filter cap).
Door can be opened.

When I put washing powder in the drawer manually it is not all going into the machine. This is a recent issue. I have had the machine for 6 months or so and this had not been a problem previously. The soap all ends up stuck in the drawer.
