No issues so far!
Relatively quiet. Digital display counts down how many minutes remain in the selected cycle. Cycles can be manually altered to different water temp etc. slightly sparkling gloss finish on lid looks classy. Lint filter is easy to access and clean. It is a Great size for a family of four!

Large Basic Style Washer
This is about as simple as washers get, yet it does a very good job. I don't know what all the other review are on about. Maybe the construction is not as heavy duty as they used to be but my one works flawlessly. It's huge and can take a weeks clothes no worries and always does a sterling job of cleaning. The spin is not as fast as a front loader so drying time is a little longer. Every Simpsons product I have owned has lasted many years and I expect the same from this.

SUPREME CLEAN
Really impressed with the performance of our washing machine (had it 5wks) & would definitely recommend this one. I always wash in cold water & use liquid detergent. We have red soil here & it stains everything but this new washer is coping brilliantly & I hardly ever have to soak anything now as it gets things clean the first time. The filter is great & things come out really well rinsed so they're not hard & crunchy when they're dry. I like a big capacity so there's heaps of room for bedspreads, doonas, pillows etc I would like to give it 4.5 stars. Very happy!

Its big its cheap its nasty.
Bought this top loader after a forgettable experience with a front loader (Beko) code for rubbish, had a top loader Fisher and Paykel before that which washed slightly better, but also broke down numerous times in its limited life, had a hoover elite top loader before that which was the prince of washing machines, finally died after 15 years of a growing family and numerous moves and abuse. But back to the simpson swt8043, name brand, but like all the washing machines under $2000 in this size too lightly built for the capacity, leaves stuff on ...Read more
clothes if you fill it to its so called limit, is not washing in all cycles, especially on hot, comes up with error the auto water level is hit or miss the top clothes hardly getting wet have to wash again, jumps around like a constipated cat with bedding in, does not like the weight despite its claim for 8kg, too lightly made, some counter weights in the bottom and a bit more steel might help even if you had too add a few extra $ to the price, in conclusion don't put to much in it and be prepared for a machine that is going to fail and need either major repairs or replacing in under 5 years. An update, had a problem with hot water valve not working, so a number of cycles were not working, booked a service under warranty, the service person from electolux turned up on the day rang ahead to confirm, was professional and polite knew his stuff and fixed the problem, replaced the valve and was out the door in record time, my married daughter who was at my house said he was even good looking, so all round 5 stars for service., have increased my rating to 3 stars overall, put some rubber in shear under the legs the same you use for outside air-con units seems to help with the jumping around when you put a fuller load in it.Similar opinion? Do not recommend
Purchased through Harvey Norman, first one started leaking water after a few days and was replaced ASAP by Harvey Norman. Cleans clothes ok, for some reason clothes are always getting caught around the agitator which stops the washing and means you have to wrestle and untwist the washing. Do not understand Why they get twisted as I’ve never had this happen before. Do not recommend buying this washing machine.

This washing machine is the worst thing in my life
I try not to be harsh and jaded in a professional review, but I honestly mean it when I say that this washing machine causes me more displeasure than any other product in my home. It’d be easier to list the things that weren’t wrong with it -
1. It washes clothes sometimes.
The settings all seem to the same thing, the timer is wildly inaccurate, and the machine simply stops working sometimes. It’s not even a matter of too much weight to one side, because pressing the start button again fixes it. It causes trips downstairs to the laundry for no reason other than that it feels like it. Again, I hate to be crass, but this washing machine is the opposite of what a washing machine should be.

Not a bad machine
Not a bad washing machine but time will tell. These things aren't made to last these days.
Do find the touch pads sometimes don't respond and I have to turn the dial to off then on again for it to register heat setting changes. Washes well a lot better than my LG I had

Good everyday washing machine
Does what it says, and having multiple features to choose from prevents clothes from damaging.
However, there's always some dust left on my clothes and if you have something too close to the washing machine, it'll pop up with an error message when it's spinning.
Would recommend it if you want a quick and easy to use washing machine

This is big enough for family use
We used to use front loader but my husband was after a top loader in our new home, that’s why he bought this. We are happy with it, it doesn’t wear out the clothes. We use it to wash our baby clothes and is big enough to wash quilts. One thing that I think it’s not that good is the energy rating and water consumption, but of course I couldnt complain more on this price.

Wash your clothes oooof
This piece of brilliance washes my clothes without me having to check for the temperature of water my clothes are subjected to!! haha .. I'll take that any day! Well, it dries my clothes pretty good and rinses rather good as well. This beast is as quiet as a church mouse, you would be suprised actually. My Favourite features are its custom and standard settings that help you wash your clothes without having to like get a feeling your in a spaceship, you know what I mean? Haha, the controls are pretty easy!! XD

Machine less that one year old. was ok until it broke down.
The machine was ok until it broke down 5 weeks ago, I phoned the local service agent Germon Electrics who have just given me the run around ever since, excuses like, we only come to your area on Fridays...technician spends a few minutes says it is ok leaves and of course it does not work ...
I have been contacting Electrolux, they were very good in the beginning, now they wont communicate with me.
I have emailed, sent messages through the chat line, emailed their customer service people as requested but no reply!! what do I do now. ?? Does anyone have any suggestions..

Electrolux agreed the only way to solve the problem was to give me a full credit.., but it will take up to three weeks, in this modern day of communications and online banking, that is ludicrous. Ge... Read more

Rubbish
It washes great when it’s actually working. One week after purchase and the control panel needed replacing. Three months after purchase and the gearbox is stuffed. We had to wait two weeks before Electrolux could get someone out to look at it. It says that they are either understaffed or overworked repairing their products.

Would never buy another simpson
Simpson SWT8043 cleans ok, tangles clothes and can turn them inside out, leaves copious wrinkles in clothing. Cycles are exceptionally long. Too deep for me to reach in to retrieve small articles in the bottom of the machine. No alert other than visual to let you know when the cycle is finished. Like to be able to choose a bigger range of wash options. Can't have a conversation in the same room because of the noise, worst washing machine I have ever owned, never again.

Great Washer, quiet & efficient
Replacing our old Speed Queen semi commercial washer which we had for 25 years. This new Simpson does a great job and is much quieter. Spin dries the clothes better so takes less time to dry. Seems to be more efficient on the water also. Purchase from Appliances Online, unpacked installed & took the old one away, great service. Had for 7 months now and very pleased with the New Simpson washer.

Simpson swt8043 8kg top loader washing machine
Everything is now set on my favourite settings and I dont need to change it any more. It takes 1 hour and four minutes to do a load of washing. I am very happy with it. I bought it brand new. Does make a few bangs and clicks before it gets going but that is it's only negative.

Good but Problematic
31/05/2020 - An update on from below...
Early 2020 a filling component required replacing as it was leaking water when filling. The local service provider was quick to attend and had the part in his van as it is a common issue with these machines! Had to get Harvey Norman to chase up for a claim number first.
Now we're having issues with the error E10 while it's filling since it appears the solenoid seems not to be functioning properly as it's supposed to be filling. Will have to keep an eye on this over next few uses as it'll be another claim...Read more

An Old Favourite
After years with Simpson, I just automatically bought another as liked it so much. However I was disappointed at times having to wait for pump timer before spin, then long spin requiring clothes to be ironed more than last model. Living in sunny Queensland, that long spin is not required so I have to stop it or wait for ages. Apart from that, the clothes are washed well.
