Rosie Darlingasked
Hi, looking to purchase a Sirius SL906-L 850 to go above a 90cm gas cooktop.
Does this range hood work well with gas and will it be large enough for the cooktop? Thx

Hi Rosie,
The SL906-L 850 rangehood works great over a gas cooktop, and it is no problem to put a 85cm hood over a 90cm cooktop.

Thank you for the prompt response

Hi Sirius Team,
I am about to purchase a SL906-850 unit and instal in an old house with a brick chimney. The exhaust would be routed directly to the chimney with free ventilation to the existing chimney cowling. Could you please advise weather ducting is required, and if so, what purpose would this serve as I have been getting conflicting information.
Many Thanks,
Mick

I am looking at renovating my kitchen. Looking at getting a 60cm induction cooktop. Salesperson recommended the Sirius SL906-L Excel 850 or SL906 EM-L 850 (offboard motor version). Would like feedback on this rangehood in regards to use with induction cooktops. Has anyone had issues with condensation? The salesperson recommended a twin motor but my partner is adamant that only a single motor is required. Thoughts?
1 answer
Hi Mel we purchased the 520 with single motor for 60cm induction cooktop. These rangehoods are designed for induction cook tops and should prevent induction rain. We have not installed ours yet. But we believe this should be adequate for 60cm induction cook top.
Karinda Sasked
Dear Sirius,
We are building a new home and I have to very quickly choose an under-mount rangehood to sit over a 90cm (5 zones) Induction cooktop. Our electrician has already installed ducting ready to go, and the builder does not want to change this. It's also a skillion roof, so there's very little room in the roof cavity.
I'm stuck as to which is the best unit to go with that will give great suction (I do a lot of stir frys), but also with the least amount of noise if we cannot have the motor outside. Please help.
Regards, Karinda

Hi l have just had our Sirius SL906-850 installed and it works perfectly. The only issue is the noise. It has the twin on board motors. The sales person was adamant that this would be the quietest product they have as we wanted to avoid the noise like the plague. We also have a box (its possibly an off board motor) that we haven't yet connected up. Is it a case of, once connected this off board motor overrides the motor in the undermount, does this make it quiet?

Hi L.Dorsi, can you please advise where you purchased your rangehood and what suburb? If the rangehood has not been ducted correctly, this might be creating extra noise. For example, do you know if flexible ducting was used? This type of ducting can be easily damaged and created excess noise. Does the box have any codes or model numbers on it? This will indicate to us if you were given a SEM (silent extraction method) motor. This is unnecessary for an on board motor. Also, can you please check your model number as the SL906-L 850 is a single motor. Please advise. Kind regards, Sirius Brand.
Hi, the model number is sl906 L Excel 850. I'll look at the other box provided to find out what is in there
It is not quite

Hi Sirius team,
I am trying to make decision about choosing between SL906L 850or SL906-LExcel850. These 2 model has a $500 to $600 variation in price. I read both review and they are excellent. If I choose the lower price model
SL906-L850 and it is going to have around 5m pipe to outside. Would you think his model would extract Asian cooking with heaps of smoke and steam? I need to know as soon as possible as my builder need to install the pipe soon 2 weeks time.
Your promt reply would be much appreciated then I can choose the right model rangehood .

Hi Shiraz!
I would suggest going the twin motor version
(excel) considering the type of cooking you do, also because you have a relatively long ducting run. If you would like to discuss further, happy to help! Please call us on 1300 762 219 and choose technical option. Our team will go through your install details with you to make sure you have the perfect model for your application. Team Sirius.

Hi
My rangehood makes a lot of noise but doesn't seem to draw all of the fumes well. I'm wondering if this is due to where it is ducted too perhaps?
Thanks

Hi thank you for your question, this sounds like an installation problem, the range hoods are very strong, you would either have a ducting issue or something similar, if you cannot see the fault you will need a service call to book this contact our team on 1300762219, thank you Ariston team.

We have just had our Sirius SL906-850 installed and it works perfectly. The problem is we also have a box (its possibly an off board motor) that we don't even know where or how to connect to the undermounted unit. Is it a case of, once connected this off board motor overrides the motor in the undermount, does this make it even quieter? We can not find where it plugs in or how it powers up. If the rangehood works fine, what is this other motor, were we possibly sold something extra that we didn't need? We are very confused. Thank you, Shirl

I have just had a Sirius SL 906- L850 model installed. It was highly recommended by salesperson. I got it because it was meant to be quiet however it sounds like a jet plane taking off on 2-4, I even find no 1 loud. Should I go back to the electrician who installed it first? I can't believe it would be so loud since a lot of reviews state how quiet it is. Can't tell you how disappointed I am!
