Nice finish but fragile
Pros: easy to clean stainless steel, dials are good and finished well and the rack and dish supplied are well made as well
Cons: The front plate glass is quite weak and shatters once by accident, but the warranty covered it and things were all sorted
Overall:
8/10 but make sure to get the warranty.

Love my Smeg.
We had a Smeg in our rental for 10 years and it was great. So when we bought our new house we looked seriously at other brands but again ended up buying a Smeg and I love it.
It cooks perfectly, is easy to use, cleans up so well and looks great in my kitchen.
But something they need to highlight in the showroom which would have made made me reach my decision so much faster is the cool-touch glass. With small children around this is so important and so great.
It was actually delivered and had a big dent on the splash-back bar, Bing Lee were great, but Smeg's service was wonderful, no questions asked they couriered out a replacement piece and were lovely to deal with which is valuable in itself.

Good oven choice for its pruce
We had a new kitchen installed and chose this over as part of a package. It works well and is easy to use. It has a good range of cooking features and an excellent fan force oven that cooks all food evenly and heats up in no time. Recommended for its price too

Disappointed
I love to cook and bake so when my old cooker died I decided to get the Smeg. Big big mistake! The oven takes forever to cook anything so I can't bake any delicate cakes or biscuits. The top burners struggle to boil water so my once beautiful meals are a real hit and miss now.
We purchased through Good Guys who arranged for a Smeg tech to come and test both the gas top and electric oven. His verdict? It is in perfect working order. Really? Even though it doesn't cook? I wish I had bought the Italian cooker and gone with my gut. I am...Read more
stuck with pretty much a useless cooker and can't really afford to replace it as this one sucked the life out of our bank account. I really don't know how Smeg got this great name....it's an expensive very under par appliance. My opinion....walk past Smeg and keep looking.3 comments
Hi Steve. Just wanted to let you know I sent you my contact information a couple of days ago just in case you may miss it. Thanks
Ok so here is my update - following this review I was contacted by Smeg regarding my problem with the cooker. A technician was sent to have a look at it and replaced the thermostat in the oven and ad... Read more
justed the gas flow to my upper burners. Well.....I can now say that I can use my cook top with confidence and water comes to the boil quickly and stays hot where before it was a huge struggle to even get it to the boil. Yesterday I baked a cake in 25 minutes where previously the same cake would take around 40 minutes and it was evenly cooked. I am yet to make my macarons which will be the absolute decider but to be fair it seems my cooker is now working to my satisfaction. Thank you Smeg for acting on my dissatisfaction and fixing the problem in a quick and professional manner. I am now a satisfied Smeg owner!Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!
Needs Constant Maintenance
Our smeg freestanding is only about 5 years old and within that time it has been repaired at least 4 times. Additionally, rubber seals will not stay on (had them replaced three times) so oven can never maintain a constant temp with moisture from oven seeping out into surrounding cupboards and creating issues with custom made kitchen. Overall would not recommend. For price am sure there is better value elsewhere - paying for a name that is no longer a bespoke product.
