I had a partner dentist, and know that the dentists do not want to reduce their annual net income.
If you did not charge a discounted fee for a root canal treatment, what would you fee be?
So if you do provide a discount, what would the actual fee be?

Other than stating that Smile.com.au dental cover is for under 100/yr, I would like to know before I join exactly how much membership in this plan will cost me. And how do I pay this membership fee?

79 for single cover, 89 for sole parent or couple 99 for a family. I believe was only By credit or debit no cash option. The cover cost is on the first page of the website you just have to keep scrolling down.

Hi Smile SCAM team when are you going to refund my money you STOLE it would be cheaper than the REVIEWS I am going to keep putting out until you are unable to scam anybody else, nothing aggravates me more than people taking what little money I have without my permission. If you don't want people to get angry then don't rip them off........until I get my money back this only getting uglier. I am going to update my negative comments every week.

Same thing happened to me. I paid $200+ for nothing. I didn't use it at all as no affiliated dental practice in my place. But i was assured, before purchasing that I just needed to present the card at any dental practice and I would be able to claim my benefits. This is a SCAM. People must know so they won't be one of the victims.
Make sure you ring your bank and black list them or they will continue to take your money
Christine H.asked
I’ve been reading both the good and bad reviews and am wondering how this system can possibly work with so many people making claims on it compared with the low cost? I don’t like being cynical but are prices bumped up before the discount and the whole scheme just to bring business to certain dentists?
4 answers
Don't know but the discounts ar e not that good and the couple I rang didn't seem that cheap but I will never use anyone associated with companies that use deceitful tactics to turn a profit from a business that doesn't offer any actual services, their operation reminds me of pyramid sellers. The only bigger waste of money is private health insurance start your own bank account and put all the money in that you would pay them and save it for dentist visits.
do not use this dentist, my son needed a tooth pulled out because it had cracked and was painful, he rang them up to see if they would take the tooth out, they said yes and made him an appointment that afternoon, 45minutes after his appointment time, he went in to have his tooth taken out, and they said we don't take the tooth out we are not qualified to do that, the dentist that does that works Friday, some four days later, what a joke, and then they have the cheek to charge my son a $100 for the dental check they did on him, something he never asked for or wanted, he just wanted his painful tooth taken out, why say yes over the phone, was it just to get a $100 out of him for a service he did not ring up for, this dentist is a rip off they do not care about the poor patient just the money they can get from them for services the patient never asked for, stay away from this dentist, I am telling everyone what they did to my son, is it scandalous and a rip off because people are in pain and suffering.

Hi Christine!

smile.com.au members are always guaranteed to save at least 15% and up to 40% off every treatment, every time they visit an approved dentist.
All treatments performed by an approved dentist are covered, which means you will receive reduced treatment fees along with no waiting periods, no benefit limits, and no pre-existing condition exclusions.
smile.com.au partners with quality approved dentists to ensure that our members have an exceptional experience when they visit the dentist.
Dental treatments and their associated fees vary depending on individual circumstances. Our Practice Partners send us their regular fees for each item numbers and from there we compute and send them the fees that they should charge our members. Rather than the practice you attend, the reduction will depend on the specific treatment you require as each dental item attracts a different reduction. Generally, it is the more common treatments, such as check-ups, fillings, certain types of extractions, and even crowns, which attract savings of up to 40%, however members are always guaranteed to save at least 15%.

Don't waste your money!!! Spend it on an electric toothbrush and brush 2 times a day and you won't need to go through being ripped off by non disclosed rebilling by parasites. The saving is nothing you should ring around for better quotes from other dentists not associated with people who think taking your money without your permission is ok. Non disclosed billing is the first sign of a second rate business built on parasitism. The second is the smug attitude by the staff only interested in wasting more of your time with rubbish forms and more misleading rubbish designed to circumvent consumer law, then waste your time so you lose interest. Save your money pay a proper dentist to do the job properly beware of non disclosed rebilling... if your business model is misleading and sets up rebilling without a single mention of it when you sign up, and you offer no service other then taking somones money for a list of alleged discounted dentists, then you are nothing more then oxygen wasting parasites.

Good morning I have Private Health cover plus Extras with HCF (currently reviewing cover with a view to changing) and note Smile's "extra dental cover"! We are a couple aged 70 and 71 years and are seeking extra cover for dental. Can you please advise how Smile works in alignment with Private Health providers - with Dental Extra's - Thanks Neil
2 answers
They are separate. You will get the Smile reduced prices as well as your HCF rebate, and then you pay the gap. Just remember to go to a Smile member dentist.
Monica H.smile.com.au
Hi Neil,
Thank you for your question! We hope you're well.
You can use smile.com.au dental cover to top up your extras insurance!
Unlike health insurance, smile.com.au dental cover has absolutely no waiting periods, benefit limits or treatment exclusions. This means that you will certainly benefit with smile.com.au in situations where your insurance will not cover you, such as if you are restricted by waiting periods or have exceeded your benefit limits.
You can also use your smile.com.au dental cover in combination with your health insurance to benefit twice over. Simply show your smile.com.au card at your appointment and your treatment fees will be reduced on the spot. You can then swipe your health insurance card through HICAPS to claim your rebate.
However, if you visit a practice that is also a preferred provider with your health fund, show only your smile.com.au card at your appointment and then claim your rebate directly from your health fund. This can significantly minimize your out of pocket expenses and will enable you to receive more treatment within any benefit limits you may have with your health fund.
Enjoy your day!
